Christmas is a time for giving. We love to give, it is really more fun than receiving most of the time, but someone or some dog, has to wrap all those gifts. It looks like the job of gift wrapping has fallen on my paws once again this year!
It looks like I have lots of supplies to work with, and this year, we got several bigger gifts, which means less to wrap, but gift wrapping some of these odd sized gifts will be a challenge for sure! Two of my necessities are the scissors and the tape dispenser which fits handily right around my paw.
Sometimes, gift wrapping is a bit tricky which means an assistant can come in handy. I asked Bailie to help me out this year, but that was a mistake. She only wanted to play hide and seek in the wrapping paper! No help at all.
Much to my surprise, cat bro Bert wanted to help out. He was Johnny on the spot and ready to work!
The two of us surveyed the pile of supplies and gifts trying to come up with a plan of attack.
I was checking inside the shopping bags to see what all might be hiding in there. Bert thought I wanted to play and was about to pounce on me while I was looking in the bag. I knew his cattitude was too good to be true! He couldn’t just help out, he had to get into some mischief!
Sometimes the gift wrapping gets real frustrating. The tape gets stuck in my paw fur, my claws puncture the wrapping paper, I accidentally wrap the cat in the box and have to start all over again, it can be tough work.
Cat bro Bert was pretty proud of our joint wrapping results.
At the end of the project, I was pretty proud of our work as well. I think Mom will be pleased.
Since cat bro Bert figured we were finished, he headed off for a cat nap which gave me the perfect opportunity to wrap my gift to my cat siblings this year. I entered a contest for cat treats over at Pawsitively Pets and won! This is awesome because I don’t have to spend my hard earned cash on the cats! I got the bag of treats in the mail and it came in a cute little cat sized stocking. I wrapped it all up in some pretty red paper. I know Sophie and Bert will enjoy the treats!
That’s a wrap for today! Just a few more days and it will be Christmas!
Dude that sure is a wrap. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
π You got that right!
Wrapping is hard work. We did that yesterday. Luckily I could put some of the stuff in gift bags. I love gift bags. No tape to stick to furs. π
We have some of them too, but Mom always forgets to get tissue paper, so the bags don’t work well.
Your such a great wrapper and so nice of Bert to help you.
I think he had fun in mind and wanted to hang out in the boxes more than anything!
Well done Emma…want to come over to my house and help me wrap?
I think I’m wrapped for this year. That was a lot of work. Bert may be available, though. I would gladly send him.
You guys did a great job. I have wrapped gifts with a cat before, and it never went that smooth. LOL
Cats aren’t all that helpful, but he wasn’t too bad this time.
WOW Emma, you are a famous wrap artist!
Oh yeah! I like that!
Wrapping can be such a chore what with all the tape getting stuck in one’s furs but you did a pawesome job, Emma! I love giving gifts too. I find it difficult to wait until Christmas to give them out once they are wrapped…so we tend to be last minute wrappers. BOL
Oz
We have to keep all the wrapped stuff locked up because of cat bro Bert, so we don’t do it too far ahead of time.
Job well done. I’m sure Bailie will be more amenable and eager when it’s time to unwrap.
Bailie is always ready to unwrap, but her work ethic still needs some work.
You are good at that. My Bonnie likes to help me wrap, but her help mostly involves checking whether the presents are edible and sitting on the paper. Sometimes I think she hides the tape too, and giggles when I can’t find it. π
I’m very helpful and I do also enjoy sniffing everything really well. Oddly, I never find any dog presents for me to wrap.
Good job Emma, can you do mine next?
I could ship my assistant, cat bro Bert to you, one way. He would help and you can just keep him.
Can I send my mom for a gift wrapping lesson? We started today and after two rolls of wasted paper, she decided to throw the gifts in bags… fortunately christmas is only one time per year :o)
Mom wanted to use more gift bags, but she forgot to buy tissue paper, so that plan went out the window.
Good job with your gift wrapping!!!
Thanks. Luckily, Mom had to carry them all up to the closet, when I was done. That would have been asking too much.
Karma just wants to check out all the bags–bestest gift evah! Great pictures today!
Cat bro Bert was into the boxes and bags too, but he had some focus which was impressive. I did not appreciate being pounced on when I was in the bag, though.
Unwrapping is ultimately way more fun, though.
No doubt about that!
Putting the Shredding Papers on the Pressies is fur SURE hard work… butt SOMEBUDDY has to do it… OMD you have Snow Freak Shredding papers??? SHRED THOSE UP GOOD….
I was just wrapping your gifts with that paper π Here in MN snow freaks are a way of life.
You and Bert did a great job, the presents look beautiful! Though I’m guessing you probably really did most of the work. I don’t see Bert helping much unless he was being paid in treats. π
He is good at sitting on the paper so it doesn’t roll up.
So cute! And we are jealous that you won the treats from Pawsitively Pets. Bert and Sophie will love those for sure! Hope you enjoy your Christmas week!
We are confused because we got that cute one and today we got six more packages. Bert and Sophie are covered for a long time!
I can hardly believe Bert was going to pounce you in that bag. What is wrong with that cat? It is a good thing you wrapped something for him. He is probably on the naughty list for sure! XXOO! Bentley
No doubt he is on the naughty list. He loves to wrestle with us dogs. He has no fear!
The wrapping looks very pretty Emma but you should not have to do it all alone. We have all been wrapping except Aspen. He has this thing about tape (any kind) duct, electrical, scotch – he rips it all off every place he sees it. And paper gets shredded all over the place, any kind he can find he shreads:(
The young ones are just not good at helping out. They want to destroy things instead!
Wow you are a busy Lady Emma, and I must admit Bert too.
My paws are pretty full right now. Lots to get done and the clock is ticking.
You are so cute and doing such a great job wrapping all those pressies.
Millie & Walter
Thank you. I like the way they turned out.
Emma, you are a great help! π Can Bert come over and help us wrap our gifts? We think all of us together, along with Bert, would be memorable! π
the critters in the cottage xo
I could send him over with a one way ticket if you like. I’m sure he would turn your home upside down as he has ours in the last six years!
What a pawesome wrapping job Emma!! We are very impresses that your kitty bro helped and didn’t just sit on the paper!!
Smileys!
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
He did function pretty well as an anchor so it didn’t roll up all the time.
Fun with wrapping paper — nice job, Emma, and with so many gifts =) Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Thanks, it was a tough job, but rewarding. Merry Christmas!
you did such a good job! Wish you were here to help me!
Can’t your cat bro help you out, or do you need a female touch???
you guys sure do know how to wrap! and we had to snicker at “that’s a wrap”!!
Hmmm…why would you snicker at that π
These photos are too cute. Emma, you did a wonderful job wrapping all the gifts.
Soon comes the fun part — getting to unwrap them!
Unwrapping is always the absolute best part!
You are great help, Emma! I got home from work to find that Mauja and Atka had done some unwrapping. No help at all.
The nail holding the stocking just came right out of the wall! Presents on the floor are fair game π
Oh boy! No presents are out at our house until right before it is time to open them. Mom learned her lesson a few years back. Between the cats and my sisters and I, nothing is safe.
Wow, you did an amazing job wrapping all those presents. And what luck winning the cat treats so you didn’t have to spend your money on the kitties.
Last year I won them a fancy ornament, I think they will like the treats better this year.
Kitties make good gift wrappers. We are glad Bert decided to help you. We are sure your kitty siblings will love the treats!
As long as the cats don’t play around too much they can be helpful. I know they will be all excited about some new treats!
It must be quite the challenge to wrap without thumbs, but you did a great job!
It’s tough and that tape is so sticky, but I have my system down.
Christmas wrapping is hard work! That’s good you got an assistant to help you! π
It is exhausting, but the opening is so fun, it makes the wrapping worthwhile.
We SO enjoyed this post!! LOVE all the pics of your gift wrapping techniques!! xo Chloe and LadyBug
Thank you. It isn’t easy for pets, but we can do it if we try.
WOW! I know you’ve got a lot of gifts to wrap Emma if bro Bert came on the scene to help. Merry Christmas to you, Bailey, Bert and all the humans in your house!
Merry Christmas to you and your family. May it be a wonderful one filled with family and love.
You did such a great job! And yes, your kitties will love those treats π
Thank you. They have plenty of treats now!
Phew, bet your mom appreciates the help π
