We have been frozen here in Minnesota for about a week. We love winter, but seven days of below zero temps start to get under a pet’s fur! My favorite way to stay warm is lying in sun puddles during the day, but the trouble pets, Bailie and cat bro Bert, are fond of the fireplace. Mom has it on almost every night, and the two of them gather to take in the heat.
Bailie and Bert are a bit like Bonnie and Clyde, always in trouble, found at the scenes of crimes around the house. They play together, they fight, and tackle each other two, but at the end of the day, trouble snuggles up to trouble to stay warm.
Last night, Bert was actually petting Bailie’s nose with his front paw, but Mom did not have a camera at that moment. I do have to admit, they are cute together.
Sometimes they touch, other times they are just close. Often times there is a toy or antler lying with them. At least when they are snoozin’ by the fire, it is safe in the house. How could such sweet and innocent looking beings be the root of so much trouble?

Today IβmΒ joining the Black and White Sunday Blog Hop, with a splash of Christmas red, sponsored by Dachshund Nola and Sugar the Golden Retriever. Remember to stop by and visit some of the other blogs on the hop to meet new friends!
So, so sweet!
Those two can be, but they are plotting their next trouble in their dreams. I know it!
My fave is ‘Trouble never sleeps alone’ – made me smile π
They are sweet together and they are starting to hang out together all the time. Not sure if that is good or not, but it is cute.
That is truly adorable! Mom’s noticed how different pets bond when there’s more than one when she had 3 cats. Taffy loves cats because she grew up with one so she tries really hard to make friends with Rhette, who’s wary. But they’ve been doing some serious kissy face, mom’s pretty sure they are going to be best pals soon. Love Dolly
Bailie and Bert are on a fast bonding course at the moment. They were licking each other’s faces the other night and today Mom ran with Bailie, so she was home alone while Katie and I got our walk. When we returned Bert was sitting on the landing with Bailie. So sweet.
We love seeing those together photos!!!
You kitties need a dog!
Just the sweetest!
Even criminals have cute moments.
Love the title to this post. Sounds like the title of a great mystery novel.

Thank you. It does have a nice ring to it.
Oh, Bailie and Bert are so cute cuddled together! Stay warm up there Emma. I’ll send you some Florida sun puddles.
Oz
They seem to really be bonding all of the sudden. Today is above zero, so we are happy!
I could use a pal like Bert to get into trouble with! They are so cute together. I was snuggling with Panda in my bed in the computer room yesterday. He gets cold because he has so little hair, and when he shivers his teeth chatter. XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
Bailie sometimes grinds her teeth when she sleeps. They are a cute pair, but lots of trouble as well.
they really look cute together :o) and they must be real friends… I mean there is an antler between them …. not easy to stay relaxed and not to growl or to hiss :o)
That cat does occasionally gnaw on an antler, but they were both tired and wanted to just be warm I think.
Too cute! Wow…it is really cold there! Ugg! Stay warm!
The end is in sight, so we will survive.
Nothing like a cozy snuggle spot in front of the fireplace…how awesome that your cuties are getting along so well!
They are two peas in a pod really! Lately they seem to be bonding more and more.
Those photos are absolutely precious. Ma hasn’t made a fire yet in the fireplace because she says its more work than she wants to do at night. Going in and out to get wood makes her grumpy. We just cuddle up in blankets at night to stay warm.
Have a happy Sunday!
Thank dog for gas fireplaces. Sure that crackle isn’t there and neither is the smell, but so easy peasy and no mess! We will always go with a gas one and they are super warm too.
Those are awesome photos, in some of them I didn’t even notice Bert! Stay warm guys.
Mom was using a different lens in some with the focus on Bailie, so as usual, the cat lost out a bit. Dogs first most of the time around here.
YESsssssssssssssssssss this FREEZING Winter Weather is beginning to get on ALL our Nerves isn’t it? WE are Totally SICK of it… We think Spring is only about 87 days away though…
News flash! Above zero this morning! Amazing, 5 degrees feels like 87!
First off, we love your fireplace!! Secondly, oh my gosh what cute photos. How funny that they have made this alliance!!! Oh Bailie…. such a puppy!!
Thank you! They have lots of similar traits, and they do play together, fight together, so why not nap together?
Hi Y’all!
Love sun puddles on any day, not just a cold one.
Y’all come on by,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Bailie, Bert, and I are all sun puddle lovers, Katie and Sophie don’t like the heat.
It is hard to believe that they are so much trouble when they are looking so sweet together!
That is how they survive…looking cute right after their crimes π
Fab photos you got there Emma!! We know! The cold is getting to us too!! We have had just about enough…but we know there will be much more before it gets warm again. Try to stay warm by the fire! xo Chloe and LadyBug
Today is above zero and we are really enjoying single digit temps for a change!
that kitty kat is eyeing your bone
Snorts,
Lily & Edward
It is one of many antlers lying around the house. Sometimes he does chew on them, but he can’t do much damage!
We haven’t been enjoying this cold very much either. Those two are too cute together. How sweet.
Millie & Walter
They make a cute pair and are pretty fun to watch too!
Awww these were such adorable photos!
It got super cold here for a few days too. SO cold that even my huskies did not want to play outside. Now that’s cold!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
What? I thought Husies were good to like -100! After tomorrow we start a warm up thankfully. We enjoy a few bitter cold days, but this is day eight and we are ready for something a bit warmer.
Dose are some sweet photos!
Thank you!
Awwww….so cute!!! Stay warm!
We are trying. Just one more day and then it is supposed to start getting a bit warmer.
You are so cute all of you.
Thank you.
Mom says she is glad they don’t in Minnesota anymore – spring and summer were truly wonderful there – but Mom HATED the winters
With not being able to go out in the cold, we can sure understand that. We love cold and we love the bitter cold for a few days here and there, but eight days in a row is a bit much at this point.Tuesday the warm up starts.
Wow….Mama is glad the trouble duo doesn’t live here cause they are too darn cute! She would have a hard time punishing them!
Smileys!
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
That is a problem at our house too. Those faces get them out of a jam all the time!
They’re so cute!! I also agree with the title!! My trouble makers are always sleeping together and plotting their next mischief!! π
We are pretty sure the information transfers automatically between their heads when they lie together!
those are some of the SWEETEST photos EVER!! They LOVE each other if they didn’t, they would never sleep together like that! Adorable!
They steal together, fight together, snuggle together…two peas in a pod!
Seriously. BEYOND CUTE!
I love that they are best friends and slow side by side. I think it makes sense that friends who get in trouble together should sleep together too. Just loved this weekend’s post/
Thank you! We have seen them fighting and playing together since Bailie was real little, but we never knew they had this “love” side as well. It is cute!
What sweet photos! Maybe they are trouble…but right in those pictures they looks just like sweet little sweetums to me! BOL
They specialize in the look of innocence. Fortunately, by nightfall, they are all tuckered out and are simply sweethearts.
The fireplace looks comfy cozy to us. Trouble always travels and sleeps in pairs. At least they are peaceful sleepers. βΊ
By the time the fireplace goes on, they are worn out from all their troublesome activities during the day!
This week suppose to warm up … Golden Woofs to everyone.
Starting tomorrow it will get better. We don’t mind below zero for a few days, but a week is a long time.
Honey shows no sign of grief with the cold weather and if I put the space heater on (no fireplace here), she pants. How did I ever end up with such a hot blooded dog?
Is there room for me to join Bailie and Bert next to the fire. That looks perfect.
Mom is usually lying with them on the floor! Sometimes I join too, but I really prefer to stay in my front window to watch the neighborhood for any trouble. Katie and Sophie don’t like the heat, they steer clear of the fireplace like Honey does.
What a team! *wags* – Gilligan from WagsAhoy.com
They are like a band of thieves, with two members.
Beautiful photos!
Even though we don’t have snow here in London and my mum keeps complaining it’s not cold enough (she loves the cold), I still feel the cold and like to warm myself on the radiator.
Purrs xx
Athena and Marie
Mom lived in Germany for ten years and always complained it wasn’t cold enough and it was the damp cold that made her freeze all the time. Being from England myself, I only remember it being rather damp, but then I moved to Germany and at a year, the US. We have plenty of cold and snow here.
Awww, they look way too sweet and innocent to be trouble makers. Especially Bert π
They can be real sweet and nice, but they have another side π
Beautiful photos! Nothing promotes a peaceful household quite like a warm fireplace . . . that and exhaustion from a full day of playing. π
Or a full day of getting into trouble π
Mr. N was hanging out so close to the heater vent, the boyfriend was worried his tail was going to start burning.
Bailie and Bert get pretty hot, but they seem to love it.
Double the trouble, double the fun!
I do think those two believe that statement!
That is cute. You have to do what you can to stay warm.
And they do, every evening.
Ha! Trouble indeed! But they are both so adorable. Good thing, don’t you think? π
They make a good, but scary pair!
That’s so cute. Bob used to try and sneak in with the dogs, but most of the times one or the other would wake up and chase him off.
That name just kills me, Bob the cat! LOL! Bert is just another dog around our house, he doesn’t bend for us and we don’t bend for him.
Keep warm guys….
