Every breed has characteristics, and with the GBGV, being a known thief is one of them! In my younger years I stole everything I could find. We love to steal, but we also adore being caught, which is what makes being a thief fun for us! The past couple years I’ve barely stolen anything, but the other day when our order from Chewy.com arrived, I was determined to sneak the freeze dried beef out of the box to a place where I could eat it all by myself! Obviously, I was caught and not able to snarf down the entire package as planned, but it got me back into my thief mode.
Two days later I got another box from the nice fellow in the big brown truck. I knew it was for me, because all the packages around here are for me. I proceeded to “innocently” check out the contents of the box.
Next I made my move, transporting bag of the goods to a safe spot where I could enjoy them all in my own time.
Now all I have to do is get this package open! Geez, what is it made of anyway. It is a bear to open!
Of course, my attempt on this day was foiled as well, but Mom sure got a laugh at me being back to my old tricks! I want to send a big GBGV hug to my friend Miss Flea who sent me my favorite wabbit jerky treats for being such a good commenter on her blog in 2014. I got to actually meet her at the last BlogPaws and she let me do some “shopping” in her booth. She is one awesome lady! If you don’t know her, you should. Stop by and say woof!
I did finally get to have some of my tasty delights. The wait nearly killed me!
Yes, if you are wondering, the wabbit jerky was awesome as always! Nothing like a nice reward for a thief, Mom!

I am joining the Monday Mischief blog hop brought to you by Alfie’s Blog, Snoopy’s Dog Blog, My Brown Newfies.
Drats caught red pawed but at least you got some in the end. Nice to be back. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
Hey, I remember you! Miss you, hope your blog is back…haven’t checked my inbox yet.
are you sure you were not jut confiscating that ‘unknown’ bag of delights to make sure it was safe before your Mom opened it – who knows what could of jumped out of that bag – right?
Yeah, that’s it…I was performing my safety duties!
Caught in the act. Just love it.
I really thought I was being sneaky, but evidently not.
Wonderful mischief you got into. That beef looks good to us.
Have a great day.
hugs, Bugsy and Knuckles
Cat bro Bert has stolen out of our supple a few times and it is also fine for kitties to eat.
LOL…You little thief. Looks like you at least got something delicious though.
Really delicious stuff…why would I steal otherwise?
I know you were just trying to keep those thing safe!
Safe from all my siblings!
EMMA! The mom says you were naughty. I say you are a great dog thief. Between being a scent hound and taking lesson from Bert you are pawsome. XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
I don’t get naughty often, but when I do, it is for good reason.
Oh, Oh, OH! I would steal that Rabbit Jerky from Jones right out of the box too! Who doesn’t love rabbit enough to want to eat the whole package?!? Enjoy those treats (while they last) Emma.
Oz
I know, wabbit and Jones…what a combo! Couldn’t help myself.
You hit the jackpot with that box. You are adorable
Lily & Edward
I sure did!
All you need is to learn how to use scissors and you’ll be able to open those packages Emma!
Usually I can do it with my chompers, but that bag was tough and I ran out of time before I got caught.
Some stolen treats and a sunny spot, what could be better?
Exactly! In this frigid weather I wanted to enjoy MY snacks in some warm sunshine.
back to the roots huh? hehehe. the Fetch’n Fillets look interesting… they are perfect to eat in bed I think :o)
They are seriously perfect to eat anywhere and as often as possible.
Nom nom we would steal those thing too.
Sometimes a girl can’t help herself, she has to go for it!
Caught red handed…or paws? LOL
Red pawed, but those treats are all worth it!
Oh Emma, and you were caught on camera too, no getting out of it. Here I was thinking only Bailie did mischief…?
I rarely do mischief these days, but the bug hit me, so I started getting back into it like I used to.
Doxie’s have some thief in them too, so go for it! Love Dolly
Sadly, I was caught too soon and not able to eat the entire packages of stolen goods.
Oh the most adorable thief you are though! I did not know that was a breed characteristic- so funny- I think that’s quite endearing 🙂
People that show GBGVs wish they could let the dogs steal in the ring because the way we proudly prance with stolen goods makes for perfect GBGV form.
Oh my gosh! That is TOO funny- 😀
My mom loves to watch me steal and was happy I started doing it again.
Emma, it’s good to see you having a little big of mischief fun! Why should the young dogs be the only ones that get to have all the fun? It’s just too bad you couldn’t get into that bag, though I bet if you’d had enough time you would have figured it out!
I know I would have, but I did run out of time, bummer.
I’m thinking your mom may have one of those “Mom Radars” like mine does. She never lets me get away with anything. Pierre steals my toys and it’s fine. I try to steal his food and it’s all “No Bentley.” What the heck? Sometimes we need to get our thief mojo on!
I think you are right. With Bailie she laughs, with me she says I should know better…sheesh!
You should look into some video footage…caption: Emma’s 11 (& 12 & 13 😉 )
Oh my…video is so tough for us, but fun idea!
I like to steal treats too. One time I even stole beef jerky from momma.
Oh boy! Did you get in trouble?
HAAAAA Emma!!! I have an inner thief too!! Mom says because I am part lab I am really food motivated. So…lately, I have helped myself to a treat or to mom’s plate or even worse into the grocery bag!!! Good on ya, girl!! We have to be true to our inner selves, don’t we? Just be careful — you don’t want to get a reputation like Bailie or my little sister!! your doodle friend, Dash
I still have my nice girl reputation. I have to work on being a bit more secretive and then things should be alright. I’m not usually real food obsessed, but last week I couldn’t resist.
There was this one time when I left a chew still in a wrapper on the coffee table and Mr. N nabbed it. People food up there is safe… but I guess he knew the chew was his!
Oh, we dogs know the difference, but I would go for people food too most likely!
Oh Emma!! LOL!!! Next time, just be sneakier!! 😀 Zoe tries to steal stuff sometimes too, but she will usually drop the item or toss it at me! The other day she threw my shoes at me.
Was that a hint she wanted to go out for a walk?
MOWZERS! And here Faraday was, taking notes, hoping you didn’t get caught and he could do the same! (he likes wabbit too)
He needs to take notes from cat bro Bert who steals right out from under Mom’s nose. He is a pro!
Packages these days… sometimes you have to be a rocket scientist to figure some of them out!
I need to tell people they don’t need to bother sealing packages they send me…it would make my life so much easier!
This cold weather must be inspiring thievin’ because Barley keeps taking bags of treats out of her agility bag and running off with them, too. She never does that, so I think the cabin fever is getting to her!
Our nose work and tracking bags are secured in a closet to keep cat bro Bert and us from getting into them. I don’t know why but I suddenly remember the fun of stealing!
Busted! Crazy pup!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Big time busted!
Emma, I like to steal things too! I never eat them, just carry them around and then give them back to Mom!
My intention was to eat them, but I was caught before I had the chance. I also do enjoy the act of theft itself, so I guess it was a 50% success.
My dogs have fallen in love with Jones treats, too. I have to figure out where to get them close to me.
–Wags (and purrs) from Life with Dogs and Cats.
That Tractor Supply Store and Mills Fleet Farms sell them around here. Wish they were offered at Chewy.com or some other bigger retailers.
rabbit jerky? Maybe Cole can eat that… i’ll look for it. Hes allergic to so many proteins.
LeeAnna at not afraid of color
All natural made in the USA wabbit jerky. Being a huge wabbit hunter, I really enjoy it. I never eat my wabbit kills, making this a great substitute.
Oooo, wabbit. I don’t think Rita’s ever eaten wabbit before. (At least not taht I know of!) You make a cute thief, Emma. (Does this make you a cat burglar?!)
Um, no…please don’t compare me to that naughty cat bro of mine! Wabbit for dogs is hard to find, and this jerky from Jones is out of this world good!
You lucky thief you, wabbit treats how nummy. Flea is a great person and so is everyone at Jones, love their stuff.
Good safe stuff that comes from a wonderful person 🙂
Lucky pups! It all looks so yummy!
It is all good stuff!
Oh Emma. Delilah does that too, and I think she wants to get caught because often times she brings me her stolen goodies. 😉 Maybe she’s part GBGV?
She does have similarities like, her long ears, short legs…wait…I don’t think she is similar, but maybe the personality 😉
Do you know Harley has never had wabbit? I’m wondering now that we’ve seen your post if he might like it – what do you think?
I hunt them but don’t eat them when hunting. I do love wabbit jerky, though! It is real tasty and I think Harley would love it.
