If you know me, you know I am a bit crazy about collars, especially the ones from Up Country! My fur was recently tickled pink when Up Country asked me to do a review and giveaway. They have so many collars and leashes to choose from, it is never easy to choose just one. I’ve been dreaming about the Hearts and Flowers collar with a matching 6 ft leash, making it my choice for this review.
My dream came true when I received my new collar and leash in the mail. I could not wait to put it on and try it out on a nice walk. I’m a girl that enjoys being fashionable, as you know. Collars and leashes from Up Country never disappoint! Whether you are looking for something fancy, fun, for a holiday, or an event, they have the right collar design for you! Up Country is a company located just outside Providence, RI, and has been around for thirty years! They do make products besides dog collars and leashes including cat collars and leashes and many other quality pet products.
I just love the design of this set! It is perfect for Valentines season, and it has a bit of Swedish flair. Yes, I’m a French Scent Hound from England and lived in Germany, but Minnesota is full of folks with Swedish heritage and they love Swedish things. It looks great with my fur colors too!
I tested out my new collar and leash set on a nice walk through the woods and it was great. I chased squirrels causing me to pull like a mad dog, but no problem with my new collar and leash holding up!
The collars and leashes from Up Country are super durable for every day use. The ribbon collars are made from high-tensile strength nylon webbing with sewn on polyester/nylon ribbons. The ribbons are stain and fray resistant; designed to last a lifetime. All collar and lead hardware is cast, not welded brass for extra strength. The buckles are Coast Guard approved for high weight hold.
Up Country collars and leashes are machine washable, just let them air dry and they look good as new! After wearing our collars for a few weeks, we put them in a lingerie bag in the washer and hang them up to dry. We have some collars that are over ten years old and still look brand new.

It reminds me a little of switzerland and the alpes… you look like Heidi the little girl from the mountains! that’s a wonderful design… and to get an Edelweiss flower means that someone loves you furever!

We have the squirrel one too! Actually we have a ton of their collars, but we always need more. Sometimes Mom wishes she had a boy just to buy collars for because there are some she doesn’t want us girls wearing as they are too masculine. So glad you love Up Country too.
I am always nervous about plastic buckles but I trust your opinion.
Mom is nervous about metal buckle collars (like belt buckle, buckles), but all our collars are plastic buckles and we have never ever had one break or pop. Even when 80 lb Katie was younger and pulled like the dickens, they held up. We only have the plastic collar buckles from Up Country and a couple from other place that are reputable. The regular old store ones we wouldn’t trust.
Ohhh! These are super nice and it is hard for me to decide. It would be between the Plaid and the Big Bone. I’ll try to convince Mom that I need both. I love yours. Perfect for Valentine’s Day! ♥

I just recently bought Leroy a martingale collar from Up Country and I love it! One of the few companies that has a collar that fits him and it is made very well! I would love to win one for Sherman! Love the North Star pattern!

I’ve never been big on collars, but they make such nice ones now, I might have to start!
It seems most dogs get a collar and wear it for years until it wears out, but we love switching them out every couple weeks and having fun designs. Since we don’t wear clothes (except for photos on occasion) collars are our wardrobe.
Next time you’re on the east coast you’ll have to visit their offices. If you love collars, it’s paradise in their stocking room.
That sounds like an expensive place to visit if you know what I mean! We would love to visit, but have never been to the east coast. Maybe one day Mom will take us along out there as she hasn’t been east for a while.

Even fluffy Katie wears fancy collars. It is hard to see them under all the white fur, but Mom likes her to look good just in case someone sees her collar!

Funny, when I saw the first image I thought, “That looks so Swedish” and then you confirmed that it has a Swedish flair. When I was a little girl – and I mean little – back in Sweden I had a hat with that pattern, and a little coat lined with a ribbon looking almost just like that. I think I’ll have to get one for Bonnie. =D
