I enjoy entering giveaways on blogs on occasion when I think it is something I could use or would really like. Lucky me, I entered and won a Nina Ottoson game giveaway on my friend Oz’s blog last month. Games are fun and we could use a good one. Little did I know these games would be ideal for cheating! The box arrived so I had to check it out right away!
It was a big box with two little games in it. I was shocked to see they sent a dog and a cat game. Why should I have to share my win with my cats? Unfortunately, since they arrived in a box, cat bro Bert was right there to play in the box and he saw the game for cats. No hiding it from him now!
Mom made me pose with both games, I was not real pleased about the whole thing. Sometimes it’s simply tiring sharing stuff with siblings all the time, especially with Bert.
I tried out the game, but when I got the piece off the game board, I tried to eat it. Mom had a fit about my behavior and took the game away from me. We did find the pieces a bit too small for most dogs, but I was supervised so no harm done. It is a beginner level game and I had no trouble figuring it out in a jiffy.
Next we got out the cat game for cat bro Bert. Amazingly, it is the exact same game, only a different color! He figured out how to play right away since food was involved, but the fun was short lived as he started cheating!
The cat game quickly turned into a cheating disaster when cat bro Bert tried to eat the game pieces. He eats everything from electrical cords to luggage handles, and food items, so it should not have been a surprise to Mom. He also figured out how to get the treats out of the pieces while they were still on the game board! Mom used the biggest cat treats we had but he still got them out with his tongue! The video shows the cheating cat in action! So, thank you for the games, Oz, but we have to figure out a better way to play with our naughty family! Maybe pets in Sweden aren’t naughty and don’t eat plastic?
We also won a wonderful gift certificate from my friend Dakota back in August. We tried to use it but the store, which we won’t name because we find their state of inventory appalling, was always out of stock on every product we wanted and this went on for over four months. Actually about 90% of their products have been out of stock for four months. Finally, Mom found out which items were in stock and ordered us a treat canister and a squirrel toy.
The canister is hand painted and from Up Country…where we get collars. It is super cute and we just love it! It wasn’t anything we had planned to order, but with only a few items available we chose it and have no regrets!
Bailie got the flying squirrel toy and is pretty happy with it as well. Their delivery service was bad as as their inventory. They lost our order which meant it took a few weeks to arrive. The woman we worked with has been very nice the entire time and she sent us another gift certificate for our troubles. Now what will we order? We are really wondering how they are staying in business! We are thankful for the products we received and are not complaining, just stating some facts and we actually find the entire thing rather amusing.
Thank you, Oz and Dakota, really! Life is based on experiences and these prizes have given us new experiences. Our prizes may not have been exactly what we expected, but we have had fun and are happy tail waggin’ pups. Sometimes things don’t work out as planned and one needs to get creative and work around the issues.
Don’t forget to stop by and enter to win a fashionable dog collar from Up Country! Click here or the photo for all the details and to enter!
Today Iβm joining the Barks and Bytes Blog Hop hosted by 2 Brown Dawgs and Heart Like a Dog! Join up and share in the fun, or just visit a few new blogs!
Oh my those puzzles look like fun and we love the squirrel. Have a tremendous Thursday.
Best wishes Molly
The puzzles are nice to chew on for sure.
They just do not make games hard enough for us 4-legged smart fur kids! I got one when I was 5 months old. It did not come apart (the Mom says fortunately!) but it swiveled. It was easy peasy and I figured it out in seconds. Now it sits on a shelf. Good luck trying to find something with your gift certificate! XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
Usually we figure out the games right away and they sit in the cupboard, but this was the first time we tried to eat them!
I was pretty sure brown dawgs would have chewed those puzzles so I did not enter. They look like fun for doggies that wouldn’t chew on pieces, but those are not my dogs…lol. It stinks you had such a bad experience with that website. I did a give-away last summer of some shampoo and had the same problem. It took me weeks to get the winners’ bottles sent out and it was out of stock for a while. The site wanted to do another something but I passed on it. Too much effort. I did hear from one of the winners that they liked the shampoo so that was good and you got two really cute items. Thanks so much for joining the hop!
We’ve never had any problems with giveaways before, but these two have been challenging. You never know. No matter, we did receive some fun stuff.
Who will ever cheat but cats? π
I know, but what can a dog do?
Sometimes it is just not worth it but still can be fun…..
We had some fun, and that is all that matters.
Wow! You got some great stuff there!!! I just love the treat container!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
It is pretty cool isn’t it?
Great win! We love those puzzle games
Lily & Edward
We just have to be careful we don’t eat the pieces.
my mom screamed as she saw Bert with that pink piece in his mouth…hope your mom was fast enough to remove it :o) I have such toys too, butt I found out that I can open all containers when I turn it on its head :o) And I have the same flying squirrel, but it doesn’t fly it’s squirrel confetti now :o)
Mom did get the piece out of his mouth, but he eats everything. The squirrel is locked up except when Mom is home because Bailie wants to rip it apart.
That’s a great attitude about it, Emma. Sometimes things don’t go smoothly, but you made the best of it, and at least ended up with some good stuff!
I’m not really surprised about Bert’s cheating….it looks like that cat will do anything possible to get his mouth on a treat! π
Cats are never to be trusted!
Oh, you’re so right! I left an open box of crackers on the kitchen counter the other day and came back to find that Samantha had knocked the box over and taken out several crackers and was eating one!
And humans say cats are easy pets…boy do the have the cat fur pulled down over their eyes!
Interesting that the cat and dog games are the same. How frustrating on the other front, but at least it all worked out, Good luck ordering again.
We were kind of shocked about that. On the plus side, they can be hooked together like a puzzle to make a bigger one.
Pets can get quite creative with the rules when food is involved.
If you want to see creativity, I could send Bert on a one way ticket to Chicago and he would be happy to show you first hand. I’m sure Penny and Eko would really enjoy having him around. Just put away all your electrical cords or he may chew them up.
Looks like so much fun!!!
We had some fun and we love looking at our treat container.
We have a couple of those “puzzle” toys. They are not puzzling at all. I’m glad you found some good stuff in the end. π
I think dogs are much smarter than humans think!
Looks like the puzzles were fun…for a bit anyway!!
That is one cute treat container, but JAkey was really eye-ing that squirrel toy!!
Smileys!
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
Bailie loves it but it has to be locked up when not supervised or it would be dead!
Hi Y’all!
Oh, Emma, that store sounds like it’s on a “pay as you go” or some kind of receivership. Glad y’all got your goodies and had a fun time…even if “eating everything” is Bert’s specialty.
Y’all come on by,
Hawk aka BrownDog
P.S. I answered your question today.
I saw that on your post, kind of slow to read on Wed and Thurs as Mom is real busy.
Mom laughed when you said that the company sent you another gift certificate. That’s like a punch line to this story! What WILL you do with that? And this company isn’t collecting any money from you!! Not the best business plan. Adorable canister! Lilly does not like games at all but I like them. After I find all the treats, I usually end up picking up the entire game and carrying it to my bed and then start chewing on the game like a toy. Mom always takes the game away at that point. Great post Emma!! your doodle friend Dash
We are still baffled by another gift certificate for trouble with a free order…I guess I will order something else they have in stock which means it will happen fast with the lack of in stock stuff!
I love the canister! It’s a shame that you had such a difficult time with your winnings! They look nice though!
We just go with the flow. We had nothing and got something, so we aren’t complaining. A dog has to find the humor in it all.
Cat bros can be such a pain can’t they? Looks like you didn’t have the best luck w/ all these winnings, but I do love the canister & the squirrel!
We had some issues for the first time, but that is life and we are still happy campers!
Oh you look so grumpy when posing with the games. All your winnings look really cool, but I guess sharing with your siblings isn’t always fun. Especially if they cheat, lol.
Cats are real tough to deal with most of the time and I don’t see why they should get anything of mine. I never want their stupid cat stuff.
we found the same thing with Denny – we have to take the puzzle away after he finishes it or he will chew the peices
The pieces still smell like food, so why not try and eat them?
Oh, cheating cats… Is there anything worse? Mauja tries to chew puzzle toys to bits. It’s a disaster.
I think we may give up on puzzles at this point. Not a good fit for our family I guess, but we had to give it a try.
We have 5 different treat games…. we like to play them on days when we can’t get OUTSIDE to play… You two really solved your games FAST…
MOM Always stays with us whenwe play… so we won’t cheat or CHEWS to do somehtingy that is not int eh rule books….
Bert is the absolute worst offender! Mom will have to be with us whenever we play.
Wow! Those parts are TINY! I don’t blame your mom for taking them away! My cat Lilly is the same way as your kitty friend, she eats everything, too!! One time she got a hold of the dog’s mini milkbones and it got stuck in her mouth. My husband had to dig it out! She was choking! It was so scary.
Congrats on your other giveaway win!!
That would be Bert, he never takes time to chew, just gulps things down. He even steals our bones. A real trouble maker!
Oh, Bert … always amusing! π
I have thought for a long time about getting a puzzle like that for Beamer. I’m not really sure what he would do! I picture him sitting there chewing the pieces off in order to get the treats.
Most likely he would do the same thing Bert did. No more puzzles for Bert π
I thought my treat toy was a chew toy too so I understand the confusion. But those sneaky cats. Love Dolly
Always keep an eye on the feline!
We’d probably try to cheat too.
Cheating was easier than playing the right way.
My goodness, that sure was a fun prize package!!!
Lots of different stuff.
Oh my!! That was too funny! Dakota figures those out super quickly too….but Bert cracked me up!!! That was hilarious!
Bert just wants to eat anything and everything!
It’s always fun to win but it’s strange a company would be out of much stock for months!
We are baffled by this company and then to send another gift certificate for an order which was a gift certificate, makes no sense.
Mica is just not food motivated. There aren’t a lot she likes and if she has to work for it no way. Aspen would work for them he is just too busy and unfocused. Lexie was smart and loved to figure those things out and would do almost anything for a treat !
We are all somewhat food motivated but it also presents the problem of lacking in the patience to play the game as it was meant to be played vs. cheating.
Thanks for joining the blog hop Emma!! Delilah has a food toy puzzle and she loves to play with it, of course we have to watch her to make sure she’s not chewing the plastic either. π It’s still fun for her and great on a day when we can’t really walk like we want, or if she’s just bored.
Sorry you had such trouble with a website, I understand how frustrating that can be.
That online store is amazing, don’t know how they stay in business, but we love the items we finally got. Bailie is the biggest puzzle fan here, but Mom won’t let her use these because of the small pieces.
hahaha that bert is a stitch! Congrats on the winnings.
I think he is more of a pain in the fur, but there is never a dull moment with him around!
Oh my, Emma…I did not know what game they were going to send you and I am sorry that the pieces are too small for all of you. Now, if cat bro Bert could behave, the game would be purrfect for him. Oh dear…
Oz
It’s not your fault, Oz! We knew it could be any game, but we were surprised by the small pieces because if a cat can eat them, any small dog could too. We just have to play closely supervised. If nothing else, it gave us some more mischief with Bert for the blog!
I had to laugh at the video! Does Bert think he’s a dog?
As a matter of fact, he does. He hangs out with us, eats our treats, chews our bones, and we think he wants to be a dog, not a cat.
Oh my Doodle a squirrel toy! You must have been in GBGV heaven!
I’m not much for toys, but Bailie loves it!
Oh Emma – I forgot to read your blog in January, bΓ©cause I was only just barely born, but I have to tell you about the time my Mommie cheated on me. It was yesterday and I have not forgot about it yet! This is what happened: I made a very nice game called βI will not get back in the car no matter what you do, Mommie.β I decided to play it for the very first time after we finished our walk. The game was to run away from Mommie when she tried to pick me up and put me in the car. I did eberyfing exactly right, but Mommie cheated and grabbed my collar! Then she picked me up and THREW me in the car so hard that was forced to go into the car and stand on my own four feet! I was shorked and horrorfied. You probably will want to call the police about it.
I think we all give it a try at some point.
