Somehow, Bailie and I have gotten ants in our fur lately…or it is what Mom tells us has happened. We still get our long walks and go running with Mom, but we have the need for speed. Bailie and I want to race and wrestle all the time. Since racing in the yard wasn’t killing our urge, we hit up a dog park the other day. This dog park has some woods, but not a lot and it is pretty open so we can really get our speed up.
When we first got the the park, we were joined by two other pups, but all Bailie and I wanted to do was run. All four of us did some racing, but the other two gave up fairly quickly.
At one point, I took a break to check for squirrels in the trees. Nope, I didn’t find any. No critters in the trees at this park.
Bailie and I took off running and running, just being two wild girls at the dog park. I was hot on her tail. Look out other dogs!
I’m closing in on her, you can see in her eyes she feels me right behind her.
Around the bend at high speed and then we fall into our in line running formation.
In a bit of showing off, we did some synchronized running…note our similar form!
Whew! After running like maniac dogs for twenty minutes, it feels good to chill out in a patch of snow! We ran and ran at high speed for about half an hour and then headed home. Bailie and I took a nice nap and when we woke up, it was snowing. Guess what? Yep, we headed out the back door and continued our high speed racing in the fresh snow in the yard. Mom hopes we wind down one of these days because according to her, “we are nuts”. At least it is a good workout for us!
Hey! If you are having trouble getting motivated to get outside and workout with your pup in the winter, how about joining in the Idita-Walk 2015? This is a walk to help get people out in the winter and is in the spirit of the Iditarod Sled Dog Race which is 1049 miles, from Anchorage to Nome, Alaska. Relax, you don’t need to walk 1049 miles! All you need to do is walk 1049 minutes between February 1, 2015 and March 31, 2015. You can walk daily, or real long some days, and not at all on others. Simply sign up on the Idita Walk website and get started walking.

Wow! You girls looked like you were having so much fun!
We love to play chase, most fun game ever. We prefer chase a wabbit or chase a squirrel, but chase each other is a ton of fun too.
Looks like y’all had a good time!
It we can run we are usually pretty content.
Wow! You girls were kicking up some snow! That looks like such fun!
We love to play chase and we do it all the time. Good for our girlish figures, you know π
Looks like you two know how to have fun and get some speed up!
We are real fast even in the snow. It is a fun way to burn off calories so we can eat more snacks.
Wow we can see you are having a great time. Have a fabulous Friday.
Best wishes Molly
Chase is our game and if there are no critters, we chase each other!
you looked like you were having the very best of time – we don’t do a lot of running anymore but we sure love our long off the lead walks.
Katie doesn’t run anymore, but Bailie and I love it.
Oh, I love their floppy ears! Must help them flyyyy!
Mom loves watching our floppys too.
We seem to have a snow theme going on! Love Dolly
It is winter, have to use the snow when we can.
Thats just like me Emma!!! I love to ruuuuun at the park. My sister does too but she also likes to wrestle. I would really rather ruuuun. Have a great day Emma! your doodle friend Dash
Bailie and I love chase and wrestle. The wrestle part is good when we need quick running break.
There’s nothing like a great game of chase! You guys are so good at it, love the pics!!!
So true! We do it all the time and love it.
Wow! Looks like you pups were having tons of fun!!! I think my huskies live by that saying “need for speed” that wraps them up in a nice little nutshell! haha!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
It pretty much sums us up too!
Sounds like Emma & Bailie read our post today about high intensity interval training!
We get lots of it with our chase games!
Well Emma, you and Bailie have just officially made me SUPER jealous! Look at how FUN it is to run around at full speed in the snow. I can see you are both having the best time. I am glad you got out to get in some fast runs…those sure get the blood pumping.
Happy Friday
Oz
We came home and crashed, but then were back at it in the fresh snow in our yard. We love to chase.
You all had SUCH a good time.
We sure did. Racing around is a blast.
Run, Emma, run, and run, Bailie, run! I would have joined you in the frolicking fun! XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
We race around like maniacs all the time. We also switch off on who is being chased and who is doing the chasing.
Barley’s been the same way–I actually wrote a very similar post today π She’s getting a very special valentine present next week based on this “nutty” behavior! I love the way both of girls’ ears fly in the wind when you run. Glad you’re having so much fun with the snow!
We have been just crazy wild and loving it! Our ears are flying along as well. I wonder what Barley is getting?
Wow, looks like a great time! I wish I had been there with you both. Excellent zoomie action and perfectly timed together. Even your ear flapping was coordinated. BOL
Grr and Woof,
Sarge, Police Commish
Sometimes Mom says it is so evident we are the same breed with our form and stuff. Chase is the best game!
There is nothing more fun to watch than dogs running, and having fun.
That is what my mom says too.
Looks like a blast! We have too much snow to run in. Phooey!
Mom is amazed at how I can bound through snow up to my ears if I get a whiff of something interesting.
What a great day in the park! Looks like you really love to run. =D
Most of our day consists of running and running followed by power naps and then a repeat.
Love this! Sometimes a pup’s just got to zoom a good zoom.
If Eko and Penny got together with Bailie and I it would be pretty amazing with all the chasing and wrestling!
Look at you guys go!
Zoom, zoom!
Good job keeping those tree rats up the tree
Lily & Edward
They don’t belong on the ground or in our way!
I love seeing action shots of running pups!! Particularly liked the synchronized running one ~ so nice to have a sibling you can work out with!
Katie and I used to do the same, but she can’t really run anymore, so Bailie is my current partner.
Good for you getting some cardio in! It looks like you had a fun time. Does your park have any trails? I would love an enclosed park with hiking trails so I could let Delilah loose.
This one is just a circle trail around the pond in the middle, but all the other parks we go to have trails through woods and grass and are fenced. It is fun.
What fun to run! You and Bailie really look like you’re having the time of your lives, Emma. Even though you probably get out more than a lot of dogs this time of year, perhaps you were burning off a little bit of cabin fever? π
Mom says it was the full moon as we are out a lot more now than in the summer, but we don’t know. We were simply wild for a few days.
Now that was a big ton of run fun!
Sure was. Do you kitties play chase in the house?
They all look so happy!
Yep, we are pretty happy pups.
I think a lot of dogs are nuts right now with the weather! Do you feel less “nutty” after your run?
Temporarily, but then we get up and go our for another run.
We love running full out and are lucky we have a yard big enough to do that.
Millie & Walter
We run in the yard too, but sometimes it is fun to chase in new places or real wide open big places instead.
Wonderful photos of a great romp through the woods and the Idita-walk sounds like a wonderful idea, thanks Emma!
Lots of my friends do the Idita Walk for winter motivation. We did it one year and finished in like two weeks and decided we don’t need extra motivation. Enjoy!
How fun that you got to go to the dog park and run full-steam! When I need to run fast, mom says I have the zoomies.
We do some zoomies in our yard too, but it is fun to race around in an even bigger space sometimes.
that’s a whole lot of fun going on there while getting some good exercise
Exactly!
Looks like you’re having one doodle*tastic day at the dog park ladies.
We always seem to have fun. I think we are pre wired for fun.
You certainly look like you’re having fun and you can eat some treats afterwards without worrying about your weight.
Which is the best reason for working out in my opinion.
