Saturday, Bailie and I went with Mom to Gramma’s house for a few hours. Katie decided to stay home as her arthritis was bugging her, and she was tired from playing with one of her boyfriends on Friday night. Bailie and I love visiting Gramma, and we really love going for a walk in her neighborhood because it is wooded and full of squirrels! On Friday we got a tiny amount of snow which was melting and making a mess on the streets. Thanks to the mess on the road, I got the new look to my belly fur. Yep, I’m smiling because I’m pretty proud of myself. Mom wasn’t smiling and had some naughty words about my “new look”.
Here is a nice close up shot of my fur. The real beauty of it is the wet dirt stuff is frozen to my furs, so I have to defrost before it can be cleaned off. Not being at our house, and not having planned on the mess, Mom had quite a job to get me clean enough to go into the house again! She says I am a little dirt magnet and a living Swiffer, whatever that means! Having more wiry fur and being a bit taller, Bailie barely had any mess on her furs at all.
After finally making myself presentable again I headed straight to the kitchen to get myself a snack out of the fridge. There is always good stuff at Gramma’s house!
I had to sniff around to locate kitty cousin Bowie who appeared to be hiding out in the bedroom. He always loves it so when his dog cousins
invade his home come to visit. He kind of gave me the brush off, but I wanted to say “woof” to him anyway.
We keep a nice big bowl at Gramma’s house for water when we visit, but my sisters and I prefer to find all of Bowie’s little kitty water bowls and empty them out. The water in his bowls simply tastes much better. Mom and Gramma say we are ridiculous for drinking out of the tiny bowls, but who cares, it tastes good.
Bailie found Gramma’s stuffed yellow lab. Being as it is dental health month, she figured she should check Labby’s teeth to make sure they were in good shape.
She wasn’t really sure what to make of the lab. As you can see from her expression, she is a bit befuddled by him.
I love looking out the windows into the woods at Gramma’s house. I bet you can imagine how many squirrels are running around out there in all those trees!
After all the fun, I started to get tired, so I tested out Gramma’s new neck pillow. I had to wear it backwards to make it at all useful. Not real sure if this kind of pillow is helpful for me, but I do like the color. No matter if it was comfy or not…I was off to slumberland for some beauty sleep. Thanks Gramma for a fun afternoon! We love you!
Good thing you tested out her pillow! And we noticed you said NEW pillow. love this post. We loved our Grandma too but she isn’t with us anymore. Mom misses her. your post reminded her of when we visited Grandma. So much fun! Great pictures Emma!
Gramma is always fun to visit. She loves us, hard to believe she didn’t like animals until Mom started growing up and forced all kinds of creatures on her. Now she has learned to like animals too.
LOL peeps called me a dirt bag because of all the mud I get on my furs. Glad you had a great time at grandma’s. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
We have so many things in common, Molly. If I was still in the UK we would be double trouble in the fur!
Looks like you had a fun day at Gramma’s house. The wet frozen fur was a bonus…lol.
Mom gets so worked up about it, geez, it is just a little dirt.
eeeeewwww cat cooties – hope you had some nice dental chews when you got home π π Looks like fun at Grannies house
Since we live with felines, we don’t mind cats too much. I always like to let Bowie know we are at his house and we know where to find him.
Oh, what a wonderful day you spent at Gramma’s house, Emma. I am a bit shocked at that frozen wet dirt on your belly though. BOL You sure were covered, weren’t you?! I bet you had a great time romping around outside though…did you ever see any of those squirrels?!? Happy Monday.
Oz
Gramma lives in the middle of squirrel town, there are squirrels all over the place all the time. We are exhausted when we get home because we spend the whole time watching them.
oh you had a great weekend… I like your hairstyle, wonder why your mom didn’t like it :o) the pillow is great, maybe such a pillow helps for my double chin?
Mom doesn’t like my fur like that, but I don’t see why? The pillow was interesting…might take some getting used to.
Looks like you had a fabulous weekend. Nothing better than a good visit with a Grandma!!!
That is right. We love going to her house to have fun and visit her.
I love the new muddy dreadlocks Emma…very free spirited.
Frozen muddy dreadlocks. The frozen part is what Mom really appreciates.
There’s nothing better than belly mud. You could put in you grandma’s bed. I’m sure she would be delighted π
Oh boy, I think not. She likes to have a clean bed with no dogs.
You really do know how to have fun where ever you are Emma!
I do. I’m a fun kind of girl.
You look good in those frozen dreadlocks. Good to remember if you want to dress up as a Puli Dog for Halloween.
Oh man, can you imagine trying to get one of those clean! No thanks.
Aren’t Grammas the best?! You are the cutest dirt magnet if we ever saw one! π
Thank you. Dirt always mean I had a good time.
A visit to grandmas house is always so much fun!
It sure is π
What a wonderful visit you had at your Gramma’s. I don’t have a Gramma, but (shhhh) the mom is old and she could be a Gramma. The mom says I stink and it is a good thing I am going to get groomed tomorrow. Geez, she gave me a bath just 2 weeks ago! I hope Katie is feeling better. XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
I have to go to the spa in March sometime. I’m not looking forward to it, but I know it is necessary. Katie is fine for her age, but getting in and out of the car and riding in the car is hard for her, so sometimes it is better for her to hang out at home, and she kind of over did it on Friday night with her friend.
How fun! Taffy looks worse than you Emma, believe it or not, after every walk! That’s why mom makes her wear hoodies now. Then she goes straight to the tub with warm water and Dawn to clean the feet off. Its a lot of work and because of it Taffy gets less walks than me, I can pretty much be wiped clean. Glad you get to enjoy going to Grandma’s it makes me miss mine a lot. Love Dolly Pees: No Monday Mischief blog hop?
Not sure if there really is one anymore. Since Snoopy took a break it has been hit or miss, so I just go out on my own with whatever post I have. It is kind of sad since it was always real popular.
Our mom doesn’t appreciate Our furs looking like that either… butt like YOU, we don’t understand WHY that is… NICE neck pillow…
It’s a bit of dirt, no big deal, but most moms don’t seem to appreciate dirt much.
That cold weather will surely effect arthritis
Snorts,
Lily & Edward
Actually, Katie feels much better in the cold and on mornings like today when it is -15, she loves to go for long walks. We think it is the dry air that makes her feel better. She is much more unhappy in summer, or when we go to Florida. Seems odd, but it is how she is.
Emma your belly!
It’s my new look. Do you like it? It comes in frozen and drippy versions.
this was so darling! What an amazing grandma you must have!!! I loved the fridge photo! Too adorable!!!
Gramma is awesome and she loves us. We love to visit her and all her squirrels.
Mother nature can be cruel to those of us who are vertically challenged. We don’t have snow, but my chest gets wets when I go out after a rain. I insist on having it dried. Pierre enjoys getting dirty a little too much.
Imagine if your belly had longer furs and the moisture froze…that is what I have going on. Doesn’t bug me, but Mom sure doesn’t appreciate it!
Emma’s channeling her Puli and Komodor ancestors (which we probably never had – which is why she looks more like dreadlocks). Like the neck pillow. drinking from the cat’s water bowl is how we let mom know that we are in charge and we want CLEAN shallow water , not that stuff that Lucy makes out of our water after she has been digging. Your friend Chablis.
p.s. I actually prefer ice chips or ice water to tap water. My dad help s me out getting those things.
Bailie loves ice and ice water, I like plain water. Katie has the Puli and Komodor ancestors, but her fur is self cleaning. She is hardly ever a mess. My kitties get real made when our water bowl has lots of dirt in it!
By the looks of all the mud it looks like fun was had by all.
It was a glorious walk π
What a fun day at Grandma’s house. Have a great day.
We did have a “grand” time π
Oh boy, you gave us a little preview of what it’s going to be like when we finally get some warm weather….lots of dirty bellies!
It sounds like there’s a lot going on at Gramma’s house….so glad you had a good time. I guess Bowie wasn’t such a great host, since he didn’t greet you, so the least he could do is let you drink his water. π
Sometimes he likes to hang out with us, but this time, he was hiding a lot. Oh well. We aren’t fans of spring here because of all the mess. At least in the spring, it doesn’t freeze on my belly.
Looks like a great time. My Boo Bear says the fridge is like a magical land filled with light and stuff to eat. =D
It is a magical place! Good description!
Oh Emma!! That is too funny! You look like you had a great time at Grandma’s!! π
I did have a great time, but then I’ve never not had a ball at her place.
Love your new look. When the snow finally melts here, all three of my dogs will look just like you.
–Wags (and purrs) from Life with Dogs and Cats
Sadly, the new look is temporary. Mom doesn’t like it, so it had to go.
Looks like ya had fun!
I love visiting Gramma, there is always so much to do.
Mr. N always gets mud and other things on his belly because he’s low to the ground. And the accompanying baths. He sympathizes!
The perils of being short!
Oh, that looks like a lot of fun, except for having to get your belly cleaned off! It looked a bit like you might be considering dreadlocks!
Humans get so uptight about a little dirt on the belly. It doesn’t bother me a bit, but I have to get it all cleaned up.
Looks like you two had a great time at Grammas house.
We had a very nice time and seeing Gramma and getting some lovin’ is nice too.
How cool for you and your sisters to be able to go to your Grandma’s house.
We always enjoy visiting her.
You can never go wrong with a visit to Gramma’s!!
Smileys!
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
You are right about that. She is always so nice to us and we get to do fun stuff.
Ohhhhh a fun trip to Grandmas house! Woohoo!!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Always lots of fun to be had at Gramma’s house!
Aww, I’m so glad you’re able to spend time with your grandma. Ace’s grandma was visiting us this week, and we all had so much fun going for walks and visiting the dog beach.
Gramma used to visit Katie in Germany. Katie enjoyed it except when they went shopping. Katie said shopping was so boring but they always took her along because she could go in the stores over there. Walks and beaches sounds much better. Enjoy the time with your mom.
Sounds like you had a great time at gramma’s house and she has a neat woods out back!
Don’t laugh, but she lives in Sherwood Forest. We always hope to run into Robinhood, but haven’t yet!
Ooh, I loved the dirty fur!! We are getting a lot of tree rat activity in our yard too, that tells me the dogs aren’t outside enough to do their job!
Those nasty squirrels take advantage of every moment!
You did get dirty, Emma! There are advantages to having longer legs!
Isn’t it strange how someone else’s water always tastes better?
I’m a serial dirt magnet according to Mom!
What. A fun day for you Emma and Bailey too.
Gramma’s house is always fun!
We love all the pics but the last one is simply adorable! π
Thank you π
