And the word of the week is – “mischief”. I can’t believe it’s week 10 already of the #PBSG #52 Snapshots of Life Photo Challenge! Mom says the mischief is definitely in my eyes and about to happen in this photo! I am innocent and have no idea what she is talking about!
I have a couple other things important and exciting items I wanted to mention on my post today.
First of all, huge GBGV hugs and thank yous to everyone who took their time to nominate My GBGV Life for a Nose to Nose Award! I couldn’t believe my nose when I saw my blog is one of the four finalists for Best Dog Blog. What a huge honor to be a finalist as there are so many wonderful blogs out there! Just being a finalist is a win for us! Thank you to my family, friends, fans, and the judging team at BlogPaws! A huge congratulations to all the other finalists in all the categories as well!
Yesterday cousin Lena arrived for her 2015 Spring Break at Emma’s B & B. I’m sure you will be seeing her on the blog in the next week or two as we always have a lot of fun when she comes to visit!
You may recall, we don’t do New Years Resolutions at my house, but we usually have goals to reach during the year. For 2015, Mom, Bailie, and I set the goal of getting some titles in our sports. I wanted to let you all know where we are at with the goals at this point.
For nose work, we have our ORT (odor recognition test) spots lined up for April 19th. I will be trying for clove, Bailie will be working on getting anise, and clove as well. If we can pass these, then we are all done with ORT’s and can focus strictly on competitions. Bailie and I both have our names in for the Level One Element Specialty Trials on May 2nd and 3rd, but we have not yet heard if either of us got a spot. There were well over 200 entries for just 120 spots, so we have our paws crossed tightly.
You may remember, Bailie got her tracking certification in January, so she can now take her TD (tracking dog) test. She applied and got into a test on March 15th, so she and Mom have been busy practicing. We all have our paws crossed she passes the test and gets her first title! Please say a prayer on the morning of the 15th that no squirrels or wabbits cross her track because it would be the end of her title hopes on that day! Bailie loves to track and is really good, but she may prefer getting into mischief if the opportunity arises.
Today Iβm joining the Barks and Bytes Blog Hop hosted by 2 Brown Dawgs and Heart Like a Dog! Join up and share in the fun, or just visit a few new blogs!
Congrats on being a nose to nose finalist! Have fun with cousin Lena. And good luck on all your upcoming tests!!
Lots going on at our pad right now, but it is all good.
Congrats on you nomination and certificates. Best of luck with your testing. We are trying to get our training areas in place for this year. Paws crossed that we get back onto the farm where we used to train. π Thanks so much for joining the hop!
Isn’t it amazing how hard simple things are like getting a test spot or training place?
Congrats on your nomination, how cool!! Good luck with all your training!
Thank you. Exciting times ahead for us.
Congrats on being a N2N finalist and good luck on your certifications. Love that photo!
Thank you. Mom says my eyes say volumes in the photo, I have no idea what she means.
Mischief? You, Emma? Bailie has my vote in that category. Congratulations on your being a Blog finalist, and do I get to vote again? Finally, when it comes to “testing” all you can do is have fun and enjoy your experience. I am sure if you or Bailie mess up (especially Bailie) tell your mom to laugh it off. I have a Peeb friend in California that is quite the show-off and clown in rally. XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
The initial Nose to Nose deal is the nominations, there were over 1000 this year. These are then worked through by a panel of judges who decide who the finalists are and who the winners will be. We like the system as voting is never real fair it seems. We are real excited around here with all the stuff going on.
Congratulations on your nomination and good luck. Have a tremendous Thursday.
Best wishes Molly
Thanks, Molly!
I think your mom is tempting you..that’s not fair. Congratulations on being a finalist. Fingers crossed
Thank you! Truth is, my nose led me to the chicken, but since Mom was right there, she was saying no stay down, blah, blah, blah…and then she snapped the photo.
We cross our paws and pray at this house. This is all fabulous news and just goes to show how versatile and resourceful our breed is! Mom downloaded a couple of your youtube videos for our AKC Musuem of the dog gig that is coming up up March 14th. You girls are absolutely pawsome!!!
Chablis
I saw the AKC museum thing on Facebook, but knowing Bailie will be in IA on the 15th it didn’t work to go. We want to go to the museum some day, though. Glad you can use some of our videos too π We will attend in video form.
Oh I will definitely be thinking of you sweet Bailie on the 15th!!
And a HUGE congrats on being a finalist, so well deserving!
BTW, I definitely see a hint of mischief in those eyes!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
We are really pulling for Bailie to get her TD. We know she can do it, but with spring in the air and her being young, we are worried her mind may wander. No matter what, we are still blog finalists and it is awesome!
Glad you are nominated. Well deserved
Snorts,
Lily & Edward
Thank you π
Congrats on the nomination Emma, its well deserved.
Thank you, we are excited.
Congratulations! I guessed it, with so much nosework training and the best nose ever you must be a finalist of the nose2nose award! is the chicken breast fillet parked in your tummy now?
No, I was being watched like a hawk, so no chicken π My nose can really sniff out a good thing, though.
well done and congrats on being n2n finalists. It is nice to see bloggers we actually know being in the finals
We are amazed, excited, and thankful.
No trouble tracking that chicken, hope your other tracking endeavors go just as well. Good luck!
Bailie is the tracking dog, but my nose work helps me find stuff like the chicken π
We are so excited for you that you are a Nose-to-Nose finalist! You definitely deserve it! We’ll be rooting for you to win at BlogPaws!
We’re also glad to hear that you’ve got your dates and things are moving along for your tests.
One last thing….you wouldn’t have dreamed of stealing that chicken, now would you, Emma? I won’t tell you how many times already Luke has stolen cooked chicken off the kitchen counter (because that would reveal how many times the stupid humans left it unattended)!
Thank you, even if I don’t win it is so awesome to be a finalist! We were at Gramma’s house and she forgets about leaving stuff on the counter and that is when it happened.
CONGRATULATIONS CONGRATULATIONS Way to GO………………..
Thanks, boys!
Congratulations again Emma! We’re so happy for you all π
Thank you. We are starting to mellow down now after the initial excitement.
so incredibly happy for you and your nomination! I have already told you about 3 times or so, but I will gladly wish you luck and congratulations again! Looking forward to seeing you in May!
I’m starting to adjust to it all now, but it sure is exciting. We will definitely see you in Nashville and good luck to you as well.
Congrats on your finalist award! We look forward to meeting you at BlogPaws! – Crepes and Alana.
Are you kitties going to be there? I’m bringing my mom and sister Bailie with me.
I’m so happy for you Emma, it just shows that hard work pays off!! We will have everything crossed on your test dates! And thank you for joining the blog hop!
Thank you. Bailie really wants her title, so we are hoping.
That chicken mischief looks like a Mama set up Emma….beware!!
and CONGRATS on your N2N award nomination….how pawesome and well deserved!
Smileys!

Thank you, we are pretty excited at my house! The chicken was at Gramma’s house. She forgets about leaving food out because she doesn’t have dogs. I smelled it, mom was there and happened to have her camera. I never got an chicken.
Mischief makes the world a fun place and y’all are terrific! Congras on the most deserved nomination!
We love fun as you know and we are really excited about our nomination as well!
Looks like some mighty fine mischief in the making there, maybe inspired by discovering how squirrel tastes like chicken? My Boo Bear countersurfs if he gets the chance – and tries to blame the others. lol
I enjoy countersurfing, but cat bro Bert is the pro at our house.
Congratulations on the nomination! Mom feels so silly because she only nominated you for Best Humor Blog but you got the big one! Good luck on the trials, my trainer said they have waiting lists for all of them here too. Oh, and I guess I’m doing pretty good! Enjoy the mischief! Love Dolly
We may end up going to the Chicago area for tracking tests or nose work trials at some point, so we will let you know if we do. Glad you are doing well at it. It is so much fun and the fun only gets better as you learn more! We are shocked at being nominated for Best Dog Blog, if anything we thought best humor blog or maybe Best Photos. Quite exciting!
Emma, I could not be prouder to have my sweetie nominated for such a prestigious honor. XXOO β₯ Bentley
We still can’t believe it, never even thought about being the Best Dog Blog!
Oh wow, how exciting, congratulations on your nomination, very well deserved!
Loves and licky kisses
Princess Leah xxx
Thank you.
Congrats on being a finalist for best dog blog, Emma! And, you ladies are doing so well in your dog sports too! And as for that “mischief,” doesn’t your mom know you’re just watching the meat so Bert doesn’t get it?
Yeah, that’s it, that is what I was doing. Thanks for the reminder π
Well, duh dere are gonna be mischief, dere are chikken involved.
This is very true!
Congrats on the nomination. Good luck with all your upcoming tests too.
Millie & Walter
Thank you. It’s pretty busy around here these days, but in a good way!
Congratulations on being named a Nose to Nose Finalist!! Wonderful achievement! I don’t know Emma, I think that is mischief I’m seeing in those beautiful eyes of yours!
Thank you. As for the mischief…I am “just” looking.
What a great honor – one of four finalists for Best Dog Blog! Congratulations! And your mischief photo is very cute – definitely mischief in the making…
Thank you. We are super excited!
Congrats on being a finalist – we look forward to seeing you in Nashville again (probably in the lift, MOL).
Thank you! We can’t wait for BlogPaws and seeing our friends!
Congratulations! That is such an honor- well deserved.
Thank you.
Big concats on the Nose To Nose nomination!! Now I could get into REAL mischief if I saw a package of chick-hen just lying there. Drool! Best of luck on your odor test.
Well, I would have liked to as Gramma forgets to put stuff out of a dog’s reach, but Mom was right there and I had no chance.
MAJOR congratulations…you are definitely one of our favorite dog blogs!!!
Awww, thank you! We are so thrilled to be a finalist!
Congratulations on the Nose to Nose and good luck!! And congrats to the pups on their accomplishments; very cool. Great post; thanks for sharing!
Thank you. We are on a roll right now and hope it continues for a while!
