Welcome to spring break at Emma’s B&B! Cousin Lena comes to my B&B every year for spring break when her family goes to Florida. The first year she was only nine weeks old! Since we get to go to Florida with Mom, we know what goes on during spring break in Florida and we set up a little beach fun to try to help Lena not feel so left out. She was having a touch time getting into the mood, but we don’t give up!
The weather has been warm and sunny, so we have spent lots of time playing in the yard. Of course, to start with, we had to get our our “Lab Guest Kit”. Emma’s B&B always has these basic supplies on hand for any Lab guests. Without these, Labs will get bored and become destructive in no time!
Bailie and I never get enough of chase and wrestle. We don’t understand why Lena prefers to play with silly toys instead. Katie gladly takes on the position as the supervisor for all the yard activities.
I tried to tease Lena with her tennis ball, pretending I was going to take it from her. She doesn’t know I would never pick up a disgusting tennis ball.
Luckily, I’ve taken first aid training for dogs. Apparently, Bailie had swallowed a whole tennis ball. I got right up behind her and performed the canine Heimlich Maneuver and “pop” out came the tennis ball. Catastrophe averted!
Lena is so focused on the stupid tennis ball which we find so odd. She does her thing while Bailie and I continue wrestling.
Katie enjoys stealing a tennis ball now and then to get some attention. She is so happy just being outside and enjoying the weather.
Mom thinks Bailie and I are up to something. We have no idea what she is talking about. We are the two most innocent dogs around!
After a good round of fun in the yard, we needed to go inside and have ourselves a nice nap! Everyone has a nice sun puddle spot in Mom’s office.
In the evenings, Bailie and Lena enjoy chomping on some nice antlers. I prefer to stay in my window monitoring the area for potential criminal situations.
The B&B fun this week fits right in with mischief, so I am joining the Monday Mischief blog hop brought to you by Alfie’s Blog, Snoopy’s Dog Blog, My Brown Newfies.
Dudes looks like the perfect day. Wish we had some white stuff but not likely alas. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
What a fun time and so nice of you to try and show Lena what Spring Break is all about including the blankets for lounging in the sun!!
I was after that beachy feeling. We are all having fun.
It’s nice to have visitors to play with!
It’s like our own personal dog park.
Sun bathing in the snow looks like great funs to me
Loves and licky kisses

The sunshine is nice and warm for a nap.
That’s a great idea! If you can’t go to spring break, just set it up in your own yard…..Who cares if it’s still covered in snow!
As dogs, we don’t mind a bit.
Looks like so much fun. The snow sort of looks like the white sand beaches in Florida. 🙂
Very good point.
That’s so nice of you to share your mom with cousin Lena! Our boy Buzz is just like her ~ he’ll do anything for a tennis or Chuck-It ball!
We do have the occasional jealousy issue, but usually we are fine with her being here. We wish she would get over the tennis balls, though.
Lucky Lena! What fun to stay in your B & B!
She loves coming to our house for her vacations. Long walks, running, playing with us in the yard and tons of fun stuff.
Oh man, I didn’t realize how tall Bailie’s gotten. She’s the “big” sister now. Always good when family pups get to come for a visit, especially at the GBGV resort.
It’s like a dog park at my house right now. Four dogs is a lot of dogs, but for a couple weeks it is fun.
Emma’s B&B sure looks like a good time. Jack wants to come stay there next time we go away.
We are lab tested and reviewed 🙂
Oh my! What s fun time. Even a bit of x-rated stuff going on
Lily & Edward
Well, you know…sometimes we are just dogs!
I’m so glad you were able to save Bailey with the heimlich, or as it is sometimes called, the hind lick. Disaster averted. You guys all look like you had so much fun!
The dog first aid came in real handy!
OMG, what great pictures! The mom in laughing and smiling. Everyone here except Hollee tries the Heimlich maneuver on everyone except on Mama Hollee. Glad you saved Bailie! Those are some of the most beautiful shots of Katie we have seen. From our house we can hear the rumble of motorcycles on I-95 as it is Bike Week and they love to cruise. WE loved your Minnesota Spring Break. XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
Thanks. I’m the only one who does the Heimlich around here. I used to do it with Katie too, but not any more. Bailie doesn’t let me do it much anymore, but I was glad to get the tennis ball out. Get some ear plugs for all the noise.
3 woofs for Spring break!!!!!
And even more for spring break in the snow! WOOWOOOOO!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Sadly, our snow is melting fast, so it is a real mess right now, but Mom keeps the towels washed!
Emma — can we come visit you for Spring Break? It looks like so much fun at your house!! We love when Cousin Lena visits. Have a great day!! your doodle friend Dash
If I have spots open come on over. It is quite a busy place with four dogs I have to say, with you guys it would be five!
Spring and snow must belong together. Who woulda thunk it?
As dogs, we don’t really mind.
I wonder why they always dream about the white beaches of tropical islands. They should see your beach, that’s a super white one! Glad you were familiar with the Heimlich Maneuver, in worst case she had to do it with her own paws… and I have some doubts if it works without thumbs :o) You have a beautiful cousin and I love that Katie enjoyed a wonderful day too :o)
We are all enjoying the springy weather right now…except for Mom who is constantly having to clean up messy dogs and do lots of towel laundry. It is like a dog zoo at our place!
That BEACH looks like it is covered in “SNOW”… BaaaaaaWaaaah… Good that you have your Beach Towels to INSULATE you from the “HOT” Sands… hehehehehehe
Correct! We don’t want any belly burns on hot snow!
BOL!
the heimlich right?? hmmm
the lab sure is lucky to have a camp to come to
LeeAnna at not afraid of color
What do you mean? Is it not the correct form for the Heimlich?
Well, if that isn’t the perfect day than we don’t know what is! 🙂
We’ve been having lots of fun times. We are all kind of tired out!
The tennis ball, a perfect way to tire out a pack of dogs!
I don’t ever touch them, Bailie and Katie sometimes grab one and run to get a game of chase started, but Lena will play fetch all day long!
Sorry Sweetie, but I am STILL laughing at your Heimlich maneuver of Bailie. What an absolute perfect caption for the perfect shot! ROFL!
It’s okay to laugh as it all worked out so well. You can rest assured I’m qualified to aid fellow pets in medical distress 😉
It looks like everyone is having an awesome time, and I loved seeing Katie with a ball! But by far my favorite has to be the canine heimlich!! Thank goodness you saved Bailie, and also that you cleared up what you were really doing there…we’ve been misunderstanding that all along here! 🙂 That was just perfect!!
Thank you. A dog never knows when the Heimlich move will come in handy. Usually Bailie won’t let me do it, but this time is sure saved her!
You guys are having too much fun! Enjoy the snow before it is all gone! 🙂
It is almost gone except for the shady areas 🙁 We wish a huge blizzard would appear, but it doesn’t look good this year.
that first photo just totally cracked me up!!
Hey, life’s a beach no matter where you are 😉
Lol, love the beach towels pic and the “heimlich maneuver” shot is a riot! Looks like you guys are good hostesses! I’m sure Lena will hardly have time to miss her family!
She is pretty busy or worn out most of the time. She loves coming to visit.
Canine Heimlich Maneuver? I didn’t think it would look just like that… lol! Your B&B looks successful, and I’m sure Lena is delighted to come stay with you. =)
The canine version may be a bit different from the human version, but as you can see, it works well. Lena loves to visit us. When we go to her house, she always tries to get in the car to go home with us.
good thing you were there to save the day
Running a B&B, I have to be a responsible dog.
Somefin bout da words spring break and all dat snow just don’t go together to me.
Well…I guess you aren’t a Minnesota dog? Snow is part of spring here usually, but it is all melting fast right now.
You’re such good dog hosts! Entertainment and refreshments!
Gotta keep the guest coming back, you know. I have my reputation to uphold.
I’m proud of you Emma – looks like you’re trying to make the most out of a snowy situation!
A girl needs to work with what she has and this works for us just fine!
OMD…you all think of everything!! We are so glad you are trained in First Aid and were able to ummm…dislodge that tennis ball 🙂
Smileys!
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
That was a real lucky thing knowing the Heimlich maneuver, it could have ended up as a serious situation.
You have a really cute cousin, Emma! It must be fun to have sleepovers! Also, is Bailie taller than you? Or is that just a funny angle to the photo? I’ve never noticed that before!
My girls don’t understand tennis ball obsessed dogs, either! They’d rather hunt for things. 😀
Tennis balls are dumb I think. Bailie is about two inches taller than I am. I’m the breed standard, her legs are too long.
omd, killing me today! Awesome time at the B & B! Died with the choking photo!
Choking is no laughing matter, but no worries as I have it all under control. Luckily we were able to continue on with the fun.
Now that looks like fun! We love your photos!
It’s like a dog park party every day when Lena is here!
It looks to ME like everyone was having a ball at the B&B!
We are. It is like a dog park 24/7 when I have guests.
That looks like an awesome time at spring break! Hey, who needs sun and sand to have a good time anyway?
You’ve got that right. We have fun with what we are given.
It’s so good to see Lena again! I bet she’s very happy she can spend the time with you and not in some unfun boarding facility.
Oh Emma, you really made me laugh today. FTR I laugh when Sampson tries the Heimlich maneuver on Delilah as well. I know, it’s really nothing to laugh at.
Does Delilah swallow tennis balls too, or is it frozen poo that chokes her? Good to know Sampson has it down too.
So much fun when visitors come! Spring break is pawsome!
–Wags (and purrs) from Life with Dogs and Cats
It’s always fun having a new playmate, but it is nice to get back to the normal life when they leave too.
Mowzers, sounds like you guys are having a pawesome spring break – but – uh – we dunno about that beach of yours…just meowing… 😉
Our snow sand has almost all melted the last couple days. You wouldn’t mind it so much now.
Some of your mom’s best photos yet! I loved all of these! Love the snow action shots! I bet Lena is good and tired by the time she goes home.
It takes a few days but then she is tuckered out. Getting up in the morning is real tough for her!
Looks like they all had a great time! You created your own dog park Emma! Sun bathing in the snow…. for some reason, that sounds odd to me. BOL from Barkocity 🙂
If you are furry and it is sunny, it is quite nice to lie in the sunshine in the snow. We love winter at our place.
Sounds like heaven! Your place looks like so much fun. I see you’ve gotten lots of snow, it’s a good thing you enjoy it! 🙂
The photos were from last weekend, and now all the snow has melted. We love winter and snow, but now we have grass under our paws again.
Ohh, much better for paws 🙂
🙂
