Spring has hit Minnesota, so it is time for this GBGV to get to work on spring cleaning. With the melting snow and mess all over outside, there is a lot of laundry to be done. I like to start my cleaning by gathering up all the dirty towels so I can get them washed and folded.
All our beds all need a good wash. We climb into them when we are dirty and wet, and frankly, I think they are starting to smell. My washing machine is pretty big, and I can usually squish them all into one big load.
Now the big question is which setting should I use to wash them. My little sister Bailie probably has cooties, so I better choose hot water and a heavy dirt program.
Our poor car is a real disaster. I made a deal with my mom. I told her I would vacuum out our area in the back if she drives the car to the car wash. She accepted, so I’m vacuuming all the sand, dirt, and grime out of our area. I’m working like a dog with all the spring cleaning and where are my sisters? Hanging out with their paws up. Katie claims she is too old to clean, and Bailie says she doesn’t care about the mess. Such poor attitudes!
Last but not least, I have to get my own furs spiffed up. I also decided to put on a fresh collar for spring. This is my before shot. Right after I took it, I headed off to the spa.
My spa visit consisted of stripping my coat, a little trimming here and there, and a bath. I was there for four hours and was exhausted! How do I look? I think it was worth it. My spa lady told me I lost about twenty pounds with all the fur she took off of me! Considering I only weigh twice that, it is a scary thought! How about your dogs? Do they get involved in spring cleaning too?
Today Iβm joining the Barks and Bytes Blog Hop hosted by 2 Brown Dawgs and Heart Like a Dog! Join up and share in the fun, or just visit a few new blogs!
Oh you are truly a beautiful dog – and to be such a help too! Priceless π
I love to help out around the house.
we have been busy helping Mom too – she is going crazy decluttering and down sizing at the moment – you l=do look beautiful after your spa treatment
Humans love it when we dogs chip in and help out with chores. Good for you boys.
Mom wants to know why we don’t help as much as you. I told her if we looked as cute as you maybe we would!! Great post! Your doodle friend Dash
Thanks. I think you guys are pretty cute. I’m a real mom’s girl, so I love to help her out.
You look very pretty after your spa trip. You sure deserved it all that cleaning. π Thanks so much for joining the hop!
Thank you. It does feel good to get cleaned up, but I’m working on getting my old scent back.
I cannot let the mom see this post – she will put me to work! I could claim Bailie’s excuse that I just don’t care (or maybe I am too young?) I loved all your pictures, and you look beautiful after your spa visit. XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
Thank you. I love being Mom’s little helper since I’m a real Mom’s girl.
You look beautiful. Katie went on Tuesday to the spa and we stripped off another dog. She smells so good.
My mom saw the fur pile and was amazed but then my groomer told her it was only half of what she stripped off and Mom almost fell over! Our furs grow so fast.
OMD we are so impressed with the Spring cleaning. I run and hide if there is any cleaning to be done as I am not helping, no way. Have a tremendous Thursday.
Best wishes Molly
I love to help out my mom when I can. I hide when it comes to getting groomed, though.
Oh Mum wants to hire you!!! She says you are very, very good
Loves and licky kisses
Princess Leah xxx
I try to do my best when helping out.
My Mom nearly died laughing when she saw you vacuuming….then she said “Hmmm…”, C’mon my furiend, don’t go giving her any ideas of having ME vacuum! I CHASE the vacuum! Barks and licks and love, Dakota
I have no fear of vacuums. They aren’t so bad really. I can stop by and vacuum for you if you like.
You look gorgeous all spiffed up Emma…well worth the time spent. Jack & Maggie are like Katie…they insist they are too old to help.
The work ethic of dogs seems to be on the decline. So sad.
What a generous, talented, and beautiful girl you are, Emma! With your scarf and apron you remind me of Cinderella – especially since you have two sisters who bailed out on the cleaning, but got in on the spa treatment!
Sometimes I feel like Cinderella, but I know I’m the famous dog in the family. My sisters are probably jealous.
The hours look ok, but how does your maid-in-chief gig pay?
Lots of loving and snacks, so it is worthwhile.
Do you hire out, Emma?
I’m pretty busy, but I might have time to squeeze in an extra appointment if the treats are right.
wow what a spring cleaning! you used your nose to pick the program on your washer? Brilliant idea, maybe my mom can do the laundry that way too, so she will not need the evil arm :o)
She could try her nose at it, you never know.
You look fabulous after your spa visit. And great job for helping, that was a ton of work.
Thank you, I am much lighter for sure!
You are a FABULOUS Spring Cleaner…. Do you ever RENT YOURSELF OUT??? We could use you HERE.
Thanks, I enjoy helping Mom with stuff.
What a cute post! I wish my dog Savanna would help with spring cleaning!
I love to help out my mom.
You sure are busy! Fortunately our springs don’t look too dirty!
Ours are a true mess!
I refuse to start my spring cleaning until the snow is gone! haha! Although my poor house could really use a good cleaning…..i’ll get there. You look super fab after your spa day!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Our snow disappeared fast because it got to be 70 here for a couple days.
Emma – can you come to my house too?! BOL! Shiner likes to help by laying on the piles of laundry.
I prefer to steal laundry, rarely lie down on it.
Oh, I wish they would help! It’s not feeling like spring here just yet, so we’re going to procrastinate a little longer on our cleaning. When do finally really get melting snow and the ensuing mud, Sheba will be off to the spa as well. You look great, Emma!!
Our winter disappeared in about 3 days with the warm weather we had.
Good job Emma, when you are done, head to my house. π Delilah is the official shredder. She’ll take care of any papers we have that need to be destroyed, but that is the extent of her cleaning. π
Thank you for joining the blog hop!
My Gramma is always shredding papers, maybe Delilah could go and help her out?
I just track in mud and make more spring cleanin, BOL!
We don’t have any more mud, so it is safe to clean now π
So helpful, Emma! And you look beautiful after your spa day. Happy spring! I like watching the changing seasons on your blog.
Right now we are in the ugly season, but if we get some rain, it will green up fast I think.
I wish you lived closer to us! I could use a good spring cleaning buddy!
It sounds like I could open a cleaning business, but I think I will stick to my blogging and stuff instead.
Oh no Emma, now Mama has all these ideas about me cleaning the house…
Smileys!
Dory,
I didn’t mean to get any dogs in situations…upps…
You do such a great job cleaning. You look so beautiful after your spa day.
I clean up pretty well, and I was real shaggy.
If we pay you r travel expenses, will you come and help us out here?
I don’t know if I could borrow the car for several days and walking would be so far. Too bad you didn’t get a sister, Harley, maybe she would be into cleaning up the bachelor pad?
Love the before and after pix. So glad you are such a help around the house. My pets are more lay-around-the-house types. π
–Wags (and purrs) from Life with Dogs and Cats
I’m the only one motivated to help out, but it’s because I’m a real mommy girl and like to do whatever she is doing.
You are so cute, and so good! I wish my doggies would help around the house. They just say it’s my responsibility as a mom and demand more cookies for allowing us humans to be in their royal presence. (LOL) Or, they use the excuse of not having thumbs like we do. Can I send them to you for bootcamp? π
I can teach them to clean and to bake…you could put your paws up for a change!
Hi Y’all!
Wow! You sure look handsome after your spa day! All that cleaning and stuff, you earned it!
Y’all come on back,
Hawk aka BrownDog
I can clean up pretty well, although I prefer a bit of shaggy and dirty in my furs π
You are one hard working girl Emma. You look great in your new do.
Millie & Walter
I work like a dog! It was nice to get rid of some of the extra fur, but I would like my old smell back.
Please show us your pretty new collar, Emma.
Mila’s only involvement in my spring cleaning is trying to attack the swiffer duster! She also likes to bark at the vacuum and hide clean socks! π
We enjoy stealing and hiding dirty socks and undies around the house!
