There are many was to be successful in life, but one big key to success is remaining flexible. Spring was here, grass was starting to green up when we were hit with ten inches of snow! We had planned a nice walking adventure for our post today, but with the snow, trails are either too deep or a melting mess, so we had to find another way to work out. Bailie and I put our noses together and came up with an alternate plan using all the fresh snow.
Ready, set, go! Yep, we decided on racing and hopping through the deep heavy snow to burn off some calories. I got the ball rolling as I took off on my run.
Bailie was really going wild. It was like the first time she had ever seen snow! Quite determined.
I was wading along as it was up to my belly and thick.
Someone in the family was doing some diving practice…hint…it was not me!
After a short break, I got my speed up again. I may be eight, but I’ve still got lots of energy!
Bailie went the other direction using the exact same form! Must be a genetic GBGV thing.
My paws caught some air, ears were flying, calories were burning!
Look out! Attack of the Bailie dog!
Whew! All the deep snow is a real workout! Little Bailie was going full speed in the snow all day and by bedtime, she was so out of it, Mom couldn’t even tell if she was still breathing, and kind of panicked! Lesson learned: if your plans are foiled by something out of your control, find something new to do. Work with what you have, it is the key to success for staying fit and healthy, not to mention in life in general.

Bailie actually over did herself and slept for almost an entire day after all her racing and hopping around, but it was fun.
Wow! That’s a lot of snow! You two look like you had fun, though!
We loved it. It is going away fast, but it was sure a lot of fun the first day!
Wow not only snow much fun but lots of it. We see you are really enjoying the white stuff. Have a fabulous Friday.
Best wishes Molly
We are a true winter family!
Bailie your ears are fabulous … and your sister looks like the cutest snow plow ever :o) guess what? we got some snowflakes today too, but it turned into rain…. that’s a crazy weather…
Hey, what do you mean I look like a snowplow? I have a girlish figure π Bailie is young, lean and crazy! We are supposed to get rain on Sunday, the snow will be all gone.
…I know :o) it’s just the snow on your paws :o)… you never need to eat kibble lite… like moi … sigh…
One door closes and another opens. Well done girls.
And the one that opened was loads of fun!
You both had so much fun in the snow. Wow! What a dun way to burn those calories. I was – and am – exhausted from my grooming adventure. Then the mom could not sleep last night so she really messed up my beauty sleep. YAWN! XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
Moms do know how to ruin a dogs sleep sometimes. Give her a break as she is going through a tough time now. You can always nap.
haha my huskies love to do some diving practice in the snow!
Oh and btw…guess what? Just when we thought Spring was on it’s way (weather was staring to warm a tad) we woke up this morning to…….yup, SNOW! Woohoooooo!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Ours is disappearing fast. I think by Monday it will be pretty much gone, but it sure provided lots of fun for us this week. Enjoy, huskies!
Very wise words, Emma! Things may not always go as planned, so being open to changes is important ~ and we”ll likely be rewarded with a fresh outlook on things π
Great snow pics ~ your girls got their workout for sure!
Bailie really outdid herself and slept for about a day straight. It was real fun.
I’m tired of snow. But I loved your snow play pictures. You’re 100% right. Have fun with whatever comes your way.
We never really tire of snow, we are just sad when we get snow this time of year as it doesn’t last and it is so melty and messy.
Glad you guys had so much late winter fun.
We sure did. It was a blast!
As much complaining and crying that I do about the weather changes, I totally agree Emma. We’ve got to roll in it – whether it be wet, dry or white! Nice pictures, looks like you had a great time.
We were so worn out. It was the only big storm this year and we took full advantage of it.
Way to turn snowflakes into calorie busters with lots of well deserved shut-eye following such quite the workout. Here’s to a terrific weekend! π
Thank you! We slept like logs after the romping! Happy weekend to you too.
Pawesome Snowy Workout Emma!
Why not really enjoy calorie burning? We figure if life gives us snow, we will trample it!
Spring snow!! What a funny occurrence. But you guys are FAB at getting the best out of it.
Woofs from Earl, Ethel and I at Earl’s World!
Here in Minnesota, we get snow until mid May some years, so this wasn’t really out of the norm, but it never lasts long this time of year. We enjoy it while we can.
That was such a fun bunch of photos!
Too bad we didn’t get any of Bert attempting to run away and finding himself in the wet snow…he decided to stay home afterall!
Oh my! Look at all that snow! I bet you’re ready for springtime, already!
It is melting fast, but we have been enjoying it. We do love winter at our house.
You are so right, Emma. It looks like you girls really had a blast in that snow and you definitely made the best of that weather change!
Our grass is already starting to reappear in a few spots. I think by Monday the snow will be all gone again.
Wow! That is a lot of spring snow! I’m glad that you enjoy it so much. β₯
We do! Poor mom had to go into the office Monday morning and she was so sad as she wanted to stay home and play in the snow with us.
Mom said to tell you that she loves your and Bailie’s ears. You girls sure had fun!!! your doodle friend Dash
I guess you could say our floppys really flop around when we are having fun!
Looks like a good workout! I guess this is the canine version of making lemonade!
Exactly what I had in mind!
You gals sure were having fun in the snow. We loved all those actions shots.
Millie & Walter
We had our wild snow pants on. It was a wonderful snowstorm/
Great exercise girls you made it look fun today. We had one beautiful day this week where Aspen got to go to the creek. Came back exhausted, it was 72 which was hot for him with winter coat. But now back to 20’s π
70’s is about as warm as we like it. Cold is preferable for us too.
Ten inches wow! Great workout girls
It was an awesome snowstorm, too bad it was so late in the year.
We sure can tell that you all are partying in that snow!! Way to enjoy it!! We are all kind of tired of the snow right now…but hey…got lemons? Make lemonade!! Happy Sunday to you!!
We don’t get tired of snow until April, then it is getting old but this year we hardly had any snow, so this storm was great!
Great job making the most of all of that snow.
We were so thrilled to get the load of white stuff. It was tons of fun.
