Easter is inching closer every day, so on the weekend I thought I better get to work on some Easter eggs. Last year you may recall I showed Bailie how to make colored eggs and she got color all over her fur. I guess I didn’t learn my lesson because this year we decided to make colored glitter Easter eggs and guess who got glitter all over the place?
To get started, we hauled out our egg cooker whom we named, Henrietta Hen. She is always ready to cook eggs for me when I need them. Bailie and I got our colors ready for the eggs as coloring the eggs is the first part of the process. Bailie was mad at me because I made fun of her purple ears and she was considering not helping me at all.
Once Henrietta chirps, I have to take a good look to make sure all the eggs are in good condition and ready to be colored.
I’m eight, and all the fuss over Easter eggs can be a bit boring for me, so I let Bailie do most of the work. See her smile? She said putting the eggs into the dye was like capturing critters. Such a hunter!
Remember to always keep an eye on the young ones! Bailie was thinking about eating some of the eggs, but luckily I caught her licking her chops before she got any.
I came back to check on her progress to make sure the Easter eggs were coming along the way they should.
Bailie was having a field day with the glitter. It was not only on the Easter eggs, it was on her paws, her nose, the counter, the floor. What a mess!
She was having a blast making her mess!
When we finally finished, we had a nice little basket of colored eggs, some with and some without glitter. Katie seemed to approve of our work as well.
And that my friends is how two Glam Hounds in Fashionable Wabbit Ears make a Glitter Easter Eggs Mess!
Easter eggs are edible, so I’m joining the Tasty Tuesday blog hop sponsored by Kolβs Notes and Sugar the Golden Retriever. If you are looking for tasty ideas, take a look at what other dogs are baking and eating!
eggscellent eggs well done! we will color our eggs on thursday, because a nameless man forgot to by the color-stuff :o( can you imagine that my momma and her freaky friends colored their hair once with that egg-color? their pawrents were higly eggscited :o)
Well, Bailie can tell you it works well on hair/fur, from last year, but it also comes out pretty fast!
hahaha fortunately it’s easy to remove… otherwise my mom would be still grounded LOL
pawsome job! they are beautiful. I love Henrietta the chicken, i have her too
Gotta have the chicken to cook the eggs in!
Well, Emma, all things considered, I think your egg decorating was a success! I can only imagine what kind of mess the Brat Pack would have made for me to clean up. Have a pawsome Tuesday. Jan
No matter what, our house sparkles without any extra cleaning effort!
Wow those are eggcelent. Nice job there. Have a terrific Tuesday.
Best wishes Molly
Thanks, we are happy with our work.
Eggstraordinary! Mom won’t allow glitter anywhere near our house. She says it is worse than spilling coffee grounds!
Mom doesn’t drink coffee, so we don’t have trouble there, but we do have a lot of sparkle in the house right now!
Eggceptional job indeed. Can’t get the Boys into glitter – ain’ t happening.
They can sit back and admire the girls in glitter…more suiting for boys!
You may have made a mess, but it sure looks like you had a lot of fun too!
It was fun making a big mess, but we do enjoy messes.
I love that you have a little sister to share these things with!
Everything is still pretty new for her, so she always has lots of fun.
Great job Emma. Truly two glam hounds. You both look so pretty. That Bailie does have quite the smile!!! Mischievous!! Your doodle friend Dash
She is a true devil. She can find mischief locked up in an empty crate! But, she does sure have a lot of fun!
Such a fun post.
Lots of Woofs from Earl, Ethel and I at Earl’s World!
Fun project too.
Oh my dog!!! You pups are always so darn cute!!!!! This was such a great post.
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Thanks! We love to have fun in the kitchen!
Emme, you are a great teacher…Bailie did a great job! You two made some very glamorous eggs!
Smileys!
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
Mom says they look like something preschoolers would make. I’m not sure that is a positive thing to say, but we like them and that is what counts.
Your expressions always crack us up
Lily & Edward
We are just a couple of silly hounds!
Mixing dogs and glitter? Now that’s brave!
Now our house and ourselves are all sparkly! Mom sometimes doesn’t think our art projects through before it is too late!
Oh my…I am laughing so hard over here! Glam Hounds make Glitter Eggs?!? You are cracking me up, Emma. And oh…what a look on your face in photo #2. What did Bailie do right before that photo to get such a stink eye? She knows she’s getting one too…you can tell by the look on her face! Seriously though, I think your eggs came out beautiful. You always do such a fabulous job.
Cuddles,
Oz
Well, you know, sisters can really have disagreements and we had one but Mom said we needed to make up and get to work on our eggs! Once we focused on our task, everything was forgotten.
I don’t usually color eggs for Easter because I’m the only person who likes them. But your demonstration reminded me that golden retrievers are supposed to be able to carry uncooked eggs without crushing them thanks to their “soft” mouths.
Now I’m wondering if I should try some egg dying just to see if Honey is able to help me.
Normally, the eggs one colors are hard boiled, but you could experiment outside with the uncooked ones just in case she doesn’t have the soft mouth she is supposed to have. Eggs on the floor are so sticky! Mom loves eggs and we get at least one a week too.
Mommy took one look at that mess, then over at Faraday – and proclaimed it was a Very Good Thing we were Chewish Kittehs!! MOL!
Yeah…cat bro Bert was locked in the basement to keep his paws from getting in the mix! Some activities aren’t the best for cats.
You two make such an Eggciting team!!!
It was an eggciting time!
OMD you look SUPER in your Bunny Ears… and all Sparkly with Glitters..
PeeS…. I (Ernie the Attorney) CHASED a Bunny today. BUTT it was NOT the EASTER one…
Thanks. We kind of like our stand up ears for a change and we love eating eggs, so it is a good activity! We aren’t supposed to chase wabbits until after Easter according to our Mom.
Making a mess is half the fun, right? Great job on the eggs, we love to see you and Bailie working in the kitchen!
Nothing better than a good mess and being in the midst of it!
I love dyeing Easter Eggs! I hope to get some done this weekend. We usually decorate a special one for Luna too.
It’s lots of fun, but not sure if we will do the glitter again.
Nice job, you two GlamHounds π I’m all for glitter & sparkles!! Happy Easter!
It’s kind of like bling in egg form π
good job – you two are a pair of mother hens for sure
But, we never sat on the eggs.
I wouldn’t trust that Bailee Emma, I think she was drinking the colored water! I don’t think my mom would ever let me make a mess like that in the kitchen, she gets mad enough cleaning up after dad! Love Dolly
Mom is not thrilled about the glitter everywhere, but I say, why not make the house sparkle? It was fun and messes can be cleaned up.
We think they look excellent! Little B sometimes has trouble with this kind of stuff, but it was good of you to give her a chance! Good job girls! Did you get to eat any?
We usually eat eggs on the weekends as a special treat after our two hour morning walk, so we are saving them. Little Bailie is the typical third child who is much younger…just out for fun and trouble 24/7 π
Oh yeah that glitter goes everywhere. Looks like fun and you did great on the eggs!
Our house truly sparkles right now.
Cute eggs!
Thanks.
Glitter Pups! Looks like Bailie had a blast. π
The family wild child sure did enjoy herself.
You gals sure had fun making a mess and some pretty eggs.
Millie & Walter
If you can’t play outside in the mud, why not make your own mess indoors?
The eggs look lovely, as do your bunny ears! I think it’s a good thing you kept an eye on Bailie, otherwise those eggs would have vanished!
She would definitely steal and eat them if she had the chance.
P.S. Is there any glitter on Bert?
No, he was locked in the basement to keep him out of the chaos.
That looks like it was so much fun Emma! You such a good big sister for watching over Bailey. The bunny ears are so cute! What will you do with the eggs?
It was a lot of fun. We will eat the eggs. We love eggs and so does Mom.
Sounds like you gals had fun, which is exactly how it should be. I can’t trust Delilah with this stuff either, she’s a lot like Bailie. π
Bailie is always up for something…always have to watch that girl!
Well done you adorable bunny-heads! Life is always better with a bit of glitter. π Hoppy Easter! π
Clean or dirty, our house is sparkling this week!
