I’m pretty excited because in just seven weeks I will be on my way to BlogPaws in Nashville! I’ve already started packing my bags and getting my things organized so I will be ready when it is time to leave! I am often asked why anyone or any dog should attend BlogPaws, so today, I’m listing my top 10 reasons.
1. Meet me in the fur! I will be attending for my second year now, and it is a great chance to meet up with me and see a real, live GBGV in the fur! Remember, my blog is a Nose to Nose Award finalist for Best Dog Blog. You can see me on the red carpet and then see if I actually win Best Dog Blog! I’m working on my acceptance speech, just in case, and I promise to wear a fancy hat on stage if I win!
2. Travel experiences with your pup! We love to travel. Mom and I are world travelers. Bailie has quite a few states under her collar already. How fun it is to travel to new destinations, smell new smells, see new sites, and experience new places – bonding time for you and your pup. Last year Bailie and I got our fill of red rock in Utah. We’ve seen enough, but it sure was something new and interesting!
3. Flat pets just don’t cut the bully sticks! Mom’s first BlogPaws she had the audacity to leave me at home and take a flat Emma. It is my blog and she went without me! Mom said she missed me the entire time she was gone, and while a flat pet is better than no pet, there is no replacement for the real pet. Even in the photo, Emma in the fur looks so much better than flat Emma, don’t you think? I realize some pets don’t want to go or just can’t go but if your pup wants to go, why not?
4. Great hotels with super comfy beds! Don’t be afraid to spoil yourself by relaxing your paws in super comfy hotel beds in real fancy rooms. Of course, you need to behave like a civilized dog to stay in these nice rooms, but believe me, you will feel right at home!
5. Meet up with friends for an early morning workout! Getting up early and heading out for a nice morning workout walk with my friends, Dolly, Rocco, and Sugar was one of my favorite parts of BlogPaws in Vegas. Our moms enjoyed meeting up too. Dogs who sniff together stay together…I think it is how the saying goes.
6. Let your PR Dog work the conference! Last summer I designated little Bailie as the official PR Dog for My GBGV Life. She is a real dog’s dog, and people dog. Bailie is not shy about hobnobbing with the big cheese folks any time, any place. Last year, she couldn’t keep her paws off Tom Collins! She can easily help draw attention to my blog.
7. Keep your blogging knowledge up to date! Blogging and social media are constantly changing fields. BlogPaws offers so many great educational sessions to help you keep up with what is new, improve what you are already doing, and gets your inspiration going for new ideas. The only problem I have is deciding which classes to attend as there are so many good ones!
8. Meet the brands! This is one of my favorite parts because they offer free products too. What dog doesn’t want to go home with like 100 lbs of healthy dog treats, foods, and toys? I love shopping the booths, barking with the reps about companies which are new to me, and it is always fun to meet up with brands I already work with! Everyone is so friendly, and helpful.
9. Awesome keynote speakers! BlogPaws always has tremendous keynote speakers who capture your attention and never put you to sleep. The speakers have great information and really get a dog motivated!
10. A real mental workout! Trust me! At the end of each day, you will be mentally worn out from all the information your brain has taken in! Those beds I mentioned early will be well needed, and sometimes, you may simply be too tired to even make it into bed and will find yourself passed out on the floor. Even Mom is exhausted by the end of the conference. She doesn’t want it to end, but she needs time to process it all and recover.
If you’re on the fence about attending, just do it! You will not regret it! Better start making your list now so you don’t forget the important items! See you in Nashville!
I’m joining the BlogPaws 2015 pre-conference linky party! You should visit other blog posts in this linky list to network, connect, and learn more about the BlogPaws experience. Stop back often and make this a pit stop in your BlogPaws Conference preparation.
Those are ten great reasons, I’m glad you get to go one day I would like to go.
It is such a great time and great learning experience!
Sounds like such a great event. Have a terrific Tuesday.
Best wishes Molly
You could swim over and we could chase squirrels during the breaks.
Good reasons although I can’t quite convince the brown dawgs to give up hunt test training to attend a conference. lol Have fun and good luck with your nomination.
We won’t be doing any tracking there, but we do sometimes work on nose work with hide in our room or around the hotel somewhere.
Oh I’m so with you, to meet all the friends and the peeps behind the blogs is just pawesome! My momma dreams about BlogPaws, but even without me it would be difficult, with all the bad things what happened, my mom will not enter an airplane…
But I will work on my world tunnel…
Maybe a cruise ship to NY? There is one that even takes dogs but they are book a couple years in advance!
I’m afraid we have to win that lottery jackpot first :o) LOL
Only you, Emma, could be so organized. I heard on the news this past weekend a nasty outbreak of canine influenza and it is pretty widespread. Have you and Bailie had your flu shots? I had mine since I go to the groomers regularly. XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
We aren’t too worried about it around here. We have some friends we hang out with, but we aren’t with lots of dogs a lot. Bailie goes to daycare one morning a week, but she has her vaccination for that. From what we hear, it is more in the Chicago area.
Great post. Which Katie and I could meet you there but a little far to drive. Enjoy it for all of us!
That would be so fun. Mom isn’t much for driving, but we still drive long distances to get places so we can go along.
Great reasons. Love your packing list; it has all the important items including a flat mom and your bunny!

I was considering bringing flat mom since it would be cheaper, but I have decided to bring the real one instead.
You certainly make a compelling case. I think Bailie as your relentless PR agent is my favorite. No way to go unnoticed when you have a cute and crazy pup on your side.
Bailie has no qualms about approaching and schmoozing with others. We are always noticed since we are a different breed too. I bet Eko and Penny make quite a splash themselves!
Arrrrrrg! I SO wish I could go, and fully planned on it this year, I just don’t think my silly finances will allow it 🙁
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Actually, I have to pay for the trip myself, and I did last year too. I pay for myself, Bailie, and mom. Sometimes the dog does have to help support the family. Most of my blogging income goes to BlogPaws, but I don’t really mind.
BOL! You are bringing “Flat Mom”?!? That is perfect, Emma! Ma will be going and she is hoping to bring me along…though I can get barky and cranky when over-stimulated. She is hoping Daddy-dog will come too so he can take me places to chill out!

I was going to bring flat mom to save money, but then I realized I probably have to bring real mom. I would miss her if she wasn’t there and I need someone to feed me and carry all my stuff around. I have Bailie as my PR Dog, she loves everyone and everything. I love people, other dogs not so much. I keep more to myself and humans who want to pet me. Hope to meet you at BlogPaws.
Great list Emma!! Staying in hotels is fun, we agree. You put together a terrific packing list too!!! your doodle friend Dash
Hotels can be odd places but the conference is always in a nice hotel.
I don’t think I can swing it this year, but your post has me trying to figure out a way to make it happen.
I have to make the money blogging to take Mom, Bailie, and I each year. A dog’s work is never done!
Oh boy you sure are lucky. We want to go one time

BlogPaws is like potato chips…you can’t go just once. It is addicting but it is a good thing.
I’ll see you there Emma! I’m hoping I’ll be able to convince someone to let me walk their dog. I know I’ll be missing mine. 🙂
Maybe you can take my PR Dog. She is easy going, but does have to socialize all the time.
What a fantastic countdown and reasons – you hit the nail on the head. And love the images. See you in 52 days as of this writing!
Thank you! We can’t wait!
Packed already? Oh my Emma, you’re on the ball. See you there!
I have to get started so I don’t forget anything important. We already ordered our new collar and leash sets too.
Goodness Emma will there be room for your mom’s stuff? I can’t wait to see all my pals again and enjoy walks together! Mom is getting Dolly the Doxie tshirts made to sell at the conference for the first time! See you there! Love Dolly
Mom has a My GBGV Life t-shirt to wear one day this time. Mom doesn’t need much stuff, she packs light, but Bailie and I always travel heavy!
I hope you have a ball and learn a lot from the conference this year! We’d love to go one day; it’s just SO FAR AWAY for us to go!!!

We could do a dog exchange program. I could visit my breeder and dog family in England and you could go to BlogPaws. We need time to train, though, as it is a long swim over the Atlantic and I don’t want to fly cargo again.
If I hadn’t made up my mind already to go, Emma, you would have swayed me! I wish the dogs could go too, but the girls just aren’t travelers, and Luke is too shy with strangers. Hopefully one day he’ll get over that and he can go. I can’t wait to meet you and Bailie and hopefully you two and all the other pets there will help me through missing my own! Maybe your Mom will let me walk one of you girls, I love early morning walks? Oh, I see only flat Mom is going….LOL.
I’ve had to reconsider and bring Mom along after all. I would miss her too much and I need someone to take care of me too. Mom knows it is a bit “frightening” the first time all by yourself, but she is shy and she felt at home almost immediately. We can exchange cell numbers per email if you want so we can connect when you get there.
That would be great, thank you!!
I really wish I could go but it’s just not in the cards for us this year.
Mom still regrets not going the first year I had my blog, but she didn’t know how awesome it would be. Hope you can make it next time.
Yep, those are all great reasons Emma. I wish we could go.
We are all super excited and this year the drive won’t be nearly as long which will be wonderful.
This is one of the most PAWESOME BlogPaws posts I have ever seen!!!! Pawtastic reasons! Looking forward to seeing you and your Mom again!
Thank you. I was just sharing some pics from the past and being honest about what goes on and how we like it. Can’t wait to see you again too!
mom is going and says she can’t wait to meet you and your mom. we don’t travel (though you might get to meet a foster kitten if the timing works out)
Awesome! I go more to meet people as I’m not so into other dogs. Most cats steer clear of us for some reason???
What a great post Emma!! We are hoping next year for sure!!!
Smileys!
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
You really should try as it is so much fun and you learn so much!
I can’t believe it’s just seven weeks away! Mom has gone three times before, but this is my first time getting to go, and I’m pretty excited!
It seems like a long time, but it really isn’t. You will love it!
we really wanted to go this year but it isn’t going to happen with all our moving – maybe next year
With moving the last thing you need to add to life is travel, so maybe next year?
Well, we aren’t going to BlogPaws, but the mom is and she says she hopes she gets to meet you, Emma.
I think for most cats it wouldn’t be much fun. We considered taking cat bro Bert along as he is more of a dog, but it would be too difficult. Can’t wait to meet your mom.
Congrats on your nomination! This post rocks! Can’t wait to see you in Nashville!
Thank you! See you there!
You are hilarious Emma! We can’t wait to meet you! I hope that Charlie is a gentleman, he has a bit of a crush on Bailie!
Bailie loves boys…she and Katie are always finding new romances around the neighborhood, so I doubt Charlie will offend her. It may be the other way around 😉
Wow, Emma, you certainly have done a great job of explaining how awesome the BlogPaws Conference is! I really would like to go!
I think until you actually go, you can’t imagine how really wonderful it is for meeting friends, brands, and learning so much to help you with blogging and inspire you as well!
These are excellent reasons. Emma you’d better rest up before the conference, you have a big job ahead of you!
Love & Biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them
Lucky for us, Mom schedules in nap breaks for us during the day, but she is always exhausted! At least we will be on the same time zone so we won’t be waking her up at 3:30am wanting to go for a walk like we did in Vegas!
looks like wagging good time
We love it! It really is amazing.
I love these reasons – and Bailie is an awesome PR dog 🙂 I love that photo with all of your friends, it’s got to be so nice to get to meet everyone in person, err dog.. I’m extremely disappointed that I won’t be able to attend this year due to a medical issue (nothing serious just a surgery), but I have high hopes that it’ll work out and I can go next year. I’m wishing you the best of luck.
Major bummer! Glad it is nothing serious, but I understand. I’m sure we will be there in 2016 too!
Those are some really good reasons to attend. I hope you all have fun!
I know we will have a great time!
We can’t wait to attend a conference of of these years. I bet you need a vacation after all that! Can’t wait to hear all about it!
You have to go, it is amazing. I guarantee you, if you go once, you will never miss another one! It is exhausting and then the travel to and from, Mom is worn out for a while after we get home but she loves it.
Oh man, I sure would love to go! All of your reasons to go sound fabulous. Hopefully it’ll work out next year!
Mom didn’t go the first year we had our blog, but as soon as people started posting about it from the actual BlogPaws conference, she was really mad she didn’t go. I think until you attend, you can’t imagine what it is like, how much you learn, the people you meet. It really is something!
