Why would a dog need stairs? At our house dogs aren’t allowed on the furniture, but we can get in bed with Mom. There is only one problem, we aren’t allowed to jump in and out of bed because it is really high and Mom doesn’t want us to get hurt. For this reason, I have always dreamed of stairs so I could get in and out of Mom’s bed on my own.
When Solvitโข Products asked if I would like to review and giveaway a set of their PupSTEP Wood Pet Stairs, I howled at the opportunity! My box arrived and I could barely handle it as it was really big for a dog like me but I was excited to see the actual stairs. Cat bro Bert had his eyes on the box.
With a bit of help from Mom, I managed to get the box open and the stairs out. They look real nice and were very nicely packed. Stairs like this would be helpful for little dogs, senior dogs, dogs who are injured, or can’t jump for other reasons. Stairs help us dogs get to those fine, comfy spots in the house we so love! Solvit Products offers several varieties of stairs, so if this set isn’t right for you, you can find a better fit.
Cat bro Bert was all over the box! If you order these stairs and have a cat, it is like a free giant cat toy with your order! Hours of fun in a box for cats!
While Mom was fussing around with Bert I climbed the stairs to nowhere. I simply couldn’t wait to test them out! Although they were in the middle of the room standing on their own, they were 100% stable with my 38 lbs climbing them.
I had Mom carry them upstairs for me. The stairs look great with our bedroom furniture and are just the right height for the big bed.
Time to give them a test run. I love the carpeted treads which makes them non-slip. The space between the treads is perfect too. In case you have questions on the actual size of my stairs, the extra large model measures 30″ long x 19″ wide x 25″ high; the treads are each 7.5 inches deep, 18 inches wide, and 6 inches apart.
I made it onto the bed all by myself! For safety reasons, there is a wood brace which locks into place preventing the stairs from collapsing when a dog is climbing.
Time to test out going down the stairs. I was a bit apprehensive but decided it would be safe and started down.
No problems at all, not too steep, not slippery, easy to climb down on. If you have thought about stairs for your pup, I highly recommend the PupSTEP Wood Pet Stairs from Solvit!

Neither Jack or Maggie get on the bed…never even tried. But Sally and Tino always did and I had several sets of steps, for the bed, for the sofa, and now we use them for the car!
Bailie is the first dog to get to sleep in bed, but now she can get in and out herself and I can also get up there if I want to.
Those look awesome! If there was any possible to use those in the RV, I would. Roxy always decides in the middle of the night she needs to get in bed with me. So I have to wake up, get her, then hopefully go right back to sleep.
I don’t know if the other set of wood stairs would work. We have the XL, maybe the L would work, but I have no idea how it is in your RV.
I like it. Bonnie and Topper always sleep in bed with me, and Ellie and BooBear sleep in the living room. I’ve noticed Bonnie is getting reluctant to jump up – she’s getting older, she’s a lady now – and I might need to give her stairs. Awesome review!
Thank you. Jumping is much harder as we age, but we were never allowed to do it in the first place, so it is a whole new freedom around here.
Oh these are so cool!!! And could definitely come in handy in so many different cases!
แฆ husky hugz แฆ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
They are real nice and we like how sturdy they are so they aren’t scary to climb up and down.
Oh boy this sure would be a fantastic win for us cause of my bad back
Lily (& Edward)
With a bad back, you really need to be careful. Our long backs are the reason we have never been allowed to jump. Good luck to you!
When Kobi started getting older and had difficulties jumping, I looked everywhere for good quality stairs that were high enough for our bed, and looked nice too. We ended up having some custom made. But ours aren’t portable like these look to be which is a really nice feature. I wish I’d found these back then! I think stairs are great to have even if your dogs aren’t older.
Jumping is simply not allowed at our house, so these are real handy for the bed and they are just the right height. It is nice they fold down too.
Will my comment from the widget show here, or do I need to do it again? ๐
Good question. I think it is supposed to show here, but I’m not seeing it. If you don’t mind trying again it might be the best option. I tried to figure it out from the widget, but am not having much luck.
My sister’s 14 year old Pug has arthritis. I’d love to win and be able to give her the steps.
These would be great for the pug!
Those look amazing! And good quality, too. Shame we are in the UK, though!

You guys can move. I was born in the UK and moved out ๐
It’s a great idea for smaller or older doggies and kitties… I used a stair as I was a puppy, but it sadly was one my dad made with his own paws…and…well… don’t ask :o(
It is good for us too as we are short.
Mom kept singing “stairway to heaven” after reading your post. She is so strange. We love your stairs. And you look great going up and coming down!!! your doodle friend Dash
I love them too, and I love being able to get in bed if I want to.
Bentley is not allowed on our bed either. Pierre jumps up and snuggles at night. I’m glad that you are enjoying the stairs. โฅ
I still prefer my own bed, but I have the option now and Bailie can also get in and out as she pleases.
wow – those are some of the nicest stairs we have seen – so much less bulky that many other kinds and easy to hide under the bed when not in use.
They are nice and stable and easy to collapse for storage. We are quite pleased.
Mom just entered US into the drawing… She is very worried about ME jumping OFF the BED… I do it all the time… SO DOES ERNIE… butt I am going to be 9 years old next month… and Mom REALLY does worry about this… beclaws we Dachshunds have a LONG History of BACK PROBLEMS… We see that they have a Light Weight one (5#’s) Not a PRETTY as yours.. butt would be easy to move fur when the evil SHARKula is outta the closet… and fur when Mom makes the bed every day…
GBGV’s have long backs too, so Mom is always careful. I’m only giving away the L or XL wood ones, but they would work for pups your size too and they both collapse when the safety bar is released for better storage.
OH.MY.DOG. Emma, you look brilliant on your new Solvit steps!!! I love that they are of pretty wood…they look just like furniture. I am glad you have them now so you do not jump off the bed. You can get hurt doing that…it is how I broke my paw a few years ago. happy stair climbing!
Oz
Actually, we don’t jump, we are trained never to jump, so Mom had to lift us in and out of bed, but now we can come and go on our own! A broken paw would be so awful, yikes!
Those are very nice stairs! We have stairs for my Sister Gracie since she can’t jump much.
As far as I know, the kitties haven’t tried anything more than the box, but they could use my stairs if they want to.
I have never seen or walked on stairs. I only know one step up or down. They look like fun! I just got home from seeing Juanita, my groomer. I do look beautiful plus I smell good, in fact, I SPARKLE! XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
Bailie had to get half a bath after daycare yesterday. I guess she smelled terrible, so they washed her before she went home, but not her head and bath. I find it funny since she isn’t keen on baths. I bet you look great!
Like you the only furniture we are allowed on is the bed. We are lucky though that our pawrents have a platform bed that is very low to the ground and very easy to get in and out of. Maybe you can get your mom to get a lower bed?
Millie & Walter
Now that I have stairs, a high up bed is no problem, but the low one would have been nice the past 7 years. In Germany the bed was low, but I wasn’t allowed on it when we lived there.
Wow, looks really nice and matches the bed well. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture here either. Glad I’m not the only “mean” dog mom! Ace can jump up on the bed with permission but only for short cuddles.
Mom always wanted dogs in bed, since cats are in bed, but the rule only changed to allowing us in bed when Bailie arrived. Years ago, her first dog was allowed on the furniture, but the shedding thing was too much and eventually Trine was retrained not to go on furniture. We don’t mind. Mom is usually on the floor with us in the living room anyway.
I have a senior Treeing Walker Coonhound girl – Suki – who could really use this for getting on and off of beds. The sad thing is, I really could have used one of these over the past four months. My deaf hound girl, Ran, tuned 5 on November 1st and then was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder the beginning of the year and she deteriorated very quickly, despite working hard with her vet and spending into the thousands in trying to stabilize her condition. After a couple of months her condition started attacking her muscles and she was having difficulty getting on and off my bed. She wanted to be close to me at night but it hurt her for me to lift her up, on her really bad days. This would have been a godsend. Ran went to the Rainbow Bridge last week on the 20th.
So very sad for Ran. Sounds like a mean and nasty disease! Hopefully you can win a set for Suki. Mom has to lift Katie in and out of the car and it is not easy, and no fun for Katie either. She doesn’t go in the car very often, so it isn’t a big issue, but it is nice for us “bed” girls to be able to get in and out on our own.
This looks like a great product! We are lucky, our Daddy built us a ramp to go up and down into the big bed though. ๐

Good for you guys. Especially for small or short legged dogs, many beds are too tall to safely jump on and off of.
My pup is small and her short little legs make it difficult (and dangerous!) for her to jump on and off the bed. I know she would love some stairs so that she doesn’t have to have mommy pick her up every time! She jumps on and off on her own sometimes, but it always scares me.
We aren’t small, but we have shorter legs and Mom doesn’t want us jumping. These stairs make it so easy to get in and out.
Those are really nice steps. We don’t allow dogs in the bed, but I could use them for myself. We have a Rice bed and it is very high. lol
The instructions say not for human use…bummer! We have only been allowed in bed since Bailie arrived, and I usually prefer to sleep in my own bed but like to visit the big bed.
great review! I had those same steps for Norman and he wouldn’t use them, he was set in his ways at 12 years old. but I gave them to my sister in law and she uses them with her corgi’s and they love them, use them all the time.
Katie has a hard time with real stairs, so we wouldn’t even think of trying her on them, but for Bailie and I, no problem.
Both my dogs are old and this would help to get on bed
It seems most dogs have problems getting up onto beds more than anything else.
Would love as Layla is getting older and she is always jumping on and off the bed ๐
It seems like the bed is the most used place for stairs. I’m sure they would work great for Layla.
Very nice looking stairs and they seem easy enough to get up and down…I have a couple Huskies who have had ACL surgery and arthritis and can not get up in bed. This would be so wonderful! Great review, and love all the pic with the beautiful models!
They are great because they are so stable and they grip the paws with the carpeting.
These stairs are great for cats, too! My kitties are both seniors and could really benefit from these stairs.
They are just like any stairs, so cat friendly too. My cats don’t use them, but they could.
Those are some beautifully crafted stairs you’ve got there Emma. Might have to bookmark them for when Harley starts to show signs of old age getting up to give me cuddle time. Great review.
They are real nice and not at all scary for me to use.
One of our dogs, Artie loves to sleep with my wife when I work on the weekends. He will not get in bed when I’m home. During the week we get up at the same time. He will not jump on the bed if I’m the only one in it either.
Artie loves the summer time when my wife is off because he sleeps with her every morning.
Kouga our other dog does not jump, so I would love to get these stairs for him.
Since we aren’t allowed to jump, they are perfect for us!
Thanks for this great opportunity! These would be perfect for our 13 year old Jake.
Good luck to you. They are really nicely made stairs.
