Woo Hoo, little Bailie is turning two today! Mom is sad as she feels like Bailie should be six months old, not two years old, but Bailie is excited to be two! Although today is her actual birthday, we celebrated yesterday as today we had other plans for today.
The other day I sat down with Bailie to plan out her party. She is a teenager, so she has some off the dog house ideas, but we worked it out. When it came to the dessert, she insisted on purple frosted pupcakes and would not give in, so I had to get to work and figure out what to bake.
I decided to bake up a batch of Peanut Butter Honey Pupcakes with Blueberry Banana Frosting. I had Mom run to the market to get all the ingredients for me, and now I’m serious about getting baking.
The aroma from my mixing bowl made me one happy baking hound! Boy are these going to be good!
To make the purple frosting, I chose to add blueberries to the frosting. I couldn’t get the vibrant purple Bailie wanted, but the light lavender was sufficient for her. I couldn’t wait to spread it on my paws the pupcakes!
In no time flat, I had a nice place of pretty frosted pupcakes. Now for the hard part…waiting to eat them. If you would like a copy of my recipe, you can click here to open and/or download the recipe in PDF format.
Bailie was supposed to pose for her birthday photo with my pupcake creations, but she just had to get her nose in there. I think she contaminated the entire platter!
Mom had us all pose together with our pupcakes and party attire. Sorry, but I simply could not wait any longer to try my pupcake!
As soon as Mom said go, Bailie dug right in too. Waiting is hard especially when you are only turning two, but she did a great job!
We all loved them and were busy licking every last crumb off our plates! I was so into my pupcake, I had to stand up to make sure I got it all!
While Katie and I were busy cleaning our plates the little birthday devil took the opportunity to steal another pupcake for herself! (Note she is wearing the K9 Bytes birthday collar, one of our #MultiPetMania Month sponsors.)
Never underestimate age and being sneaky! While Bailie got carried away singing happy birthday to herself, Katie and I each stole a second pupcake for ourselves! It was a back and forth of stealing at this party!
The weather was lovely, the food was great, the birthday party for little Bailie turning two was a huge success! What about presents? Well, she and Mom decided she has gotten a ton of new toys the past two weeks, so there was no need to get anymore. Bailie did get a “Mom and Me” day last weekend which she will post about in the coming days. To celebrate her actual birthday, we will all have Merrick Alpine Rabbit Stew for dinner! Yum! I CANNOT handle this amount of cute!! As I’m currently traveling away from my 3, this is just the pooch fix I need! My middle dog, without a doubt, would’ve gone for the entire plate as you were taking pics, can’t blame your girls for being sneaky! Since we just rescued our third last month, kudos on your pics, sometimes setting up two was tricky, three dogs at once requires a good handful of treats!

Happy Birthday to Bailie! Those pupcakes sure look good…for my birthday back in April Mom made me pupcakes…or she said she did. The recipe she chose to make was good for people and pooches…and once my DAD found out that fact they didn’t last long at all.
People can always eat what I make, but it isn’t usually something they love. She had a great day, thank you for the birthday wishes.
