An ice cream social is the ideal way to be social in the summertime but a dog needs ice cream first! When I was contacted about reviewing Dogstersยฎ Ice Cream Style Treats for Dogs, I couldn’t say “no”. My Dogsters arrived a couple weeks later in this huge box because they had to be packed to stay frozen. I was a bit unsure about the large box, but accepted it anyway.
What exactly did I receive for my ice cream social?
First I pulled out the Peanut Butter and Cheese Flavor which sure sounded good! What dog doesn’t enjoy peanut butter and cheese? A few facts about this flavor:
- low fat
- no added sugar
- no added milk
- no artificial flavors
- no artificial colors
- about 96 calories per cup
Next I saw the Minte Kissable Fresh Flavor. Oh boy, I knew my boy crazy sisters would be all over this one! A few facts about this flavor:
- low fat
- all natural
- no added sugar
- no added milk
- no artificial colors
- ย no artificial colors
- about 97 calories per cup
Planning the ice cream social
First off, a girl needs to keep that ice cream cold. I was headed to the dog park with my ice cream for a meet up with my Minnesota blogging buddy Spencer. Each package of Dogsters has four individually packed cups of ice cream so I invited my sisters to come along making four dogs for four ice cream cups. Sadly, Katie backed out at the last minute as she wasn’t up to it in the heat that day.
The ice cream social, how it went down!
I arrived at the picnic area and got out my picnic cloth and the Dogsters to let them thaw slightly.
A good hostess offers their guests a choice, and Spencer chose the Peanut Butter and Cheese flavor which I put in a red bowl. Bailie and I both opted for Minte Kissable Fresh in green bowls. We all dug right in!
The ice cream was real nice and creamy. I was loving it!
Before I knew it, my bowl was empty! I checked to see if there was more because it was so tasty and refreshing on a very hot and humid day!
I was thrilled to see Spencer’s reaction to the Peanut Butter and Cheese flavor as he finished. He obviously found it to be quite palate pleasing! It is great to have happy guests!

Mmm, ICE CREAM! ๐
Good stuff, but it doesn’t last long enough!
Brown dawgs reviewed these today too. They were a huge hit!
Love the mint ones for a change of flavor. I’ll stop by to see you guys in a bit!
Brown dawgs tried the mint ones and I was surprised how much they liked that flavor.
I am not big on the peanut butter, but I chowed down the mint one right away.
boy… you started this week with a bang! ice cream! that was a super tasty review and I invite you to my park too… please come over with your ice cream box… I will call you when we have a park :o)
I’m going to need lots of ice to keep my stuff frozen as it is a long journey!
Schooner and Skipper love ice cream! They would pick the peanut butter and cheese. They would have their own ice cream social with their furry Harley, Leia and Luke! What fun a dog ice cream social!
It’s always fun to share with family and friends. Hope you win a box so you can have your own ice cream social.
Lady Girl is drooling on me as I read this review to her. Must have Dogsters!! She wants to try the Peanut Butter & Cheese Please!!!
I haven’t tasted that one yet, but Spencer loved it.
We are big fans of Dogsters Ice Cream and will howl about it ourselves next week! I am glad that you held an ice cream social. I am assuming that Spencer is just a friend so I’m not too jealous. (Yes, I am! BOL)
Spencer is just a friend and he hangs out more with Bailie, so no worries. I would have invited you, Bentley, but it would be a long drive for some ice cream.
Since I entered Storm and Freighter’s giveaway over on 2 Brown Dawgs for the peanut butter and cheese flavor, I’ll say the mint flavor here. I think the girls could share with the little Shih Tzu that lives next door.
That would be fun. Actually, if you win, you can choose either flavor, so no worries. Good luck!
Oooo, I bet that was good. I know a couple doggies over here that would love that too.
We really like the mint one as it is something different for us.
Thank you so much for inviting me to join your ice cream social! I had so much fun and they sure hit the spot on a hot, humid day! BTW, love your hat and apron, it sure looks good on you!
It was fun Spencer! The weather was perfect for ice cream as well.
The Mama is a dogger trainer, and she just lubs the idea of planning an ice cream social for one of her group classes! What a barking grrreat idea! !!!
Oh now that is a super cool idea! I know everyone would love it, just have to remember sharing manners and no defending food.
As always, treats are the best way to make best four-legged friends.
Luckily it was super hot so there weren’t many dogs around or we would have had issues with theft I bet!
You scream, I scream, we all scream fur ice cream! Yum, yum, yum! XOXO Sparkle the kissable PBGV
Good stuff. You could enjoy a cup out at your pool!
Emma, you made my mommy happy today with your post. She has had her back surgery cancelled with no explanation given twice. She is so unhappy and she hurts in all her arthritic joints as she has not taken her arthritis meds for 3 weeks. I just hate to see the mommy unhappy. Sparkle
I’ve seen that it has been postponed, that would be awful! Hope I can keep helping her smile and also hope she gets her surgery soon!
For some reason our peeps just don’t understand, we just aren’t big ice cream eaters. But we know nothing is better that a picnic in the park with friends!!
What a great Food Fair kick off, Emma!!
Smileys!

Not everyone is a frozen treat fan, but on a day with tropical humidity and almost 100 degrees, anything cold was good. We do like ice cream pretty much anytime, though.
these have become our favorite treats especially the mint one ๐
When we were asked about doing a review, we remembered yours and wanted to try the Minte ones.
That has got to be the coolest #punintended gift ever! I will certainly throw the Boys hat in for a box of those. These Boys are crazy when it comes to ice cream. Thanks!
Summer is melting away, so they better get in all the ice cream they can! They will love it, hope they win!
Holy I Scream that looks good
Snorts

Trust me, it is and if you don’t believe me, check out Spencer’s tongue!
What a fun get-together, and great idea! You sure know how to treat your friends, Emma! We used to get these all the time, but for some reason Sheba can’t eat frozen treats and we don’t like her to feel left out, so we don’t get them anymore.
The past year or so, we have started doing things without always everyone because of different needs, not just walks, but treats as well. We don’t eat treats in front of our siblings if they can’t have the same, but sometimes we get one if we are outside and another is not or something like that.
Oh wow!!! What a fabulous idea!
แฆ husky hugz แฆ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
It was a lot of fun!
What a fun treat! I bigger container looks like it might be needed though.
Mom says we need to keep our girlish figures so we can’t have too big of a portion.
Wow, Rita was sold at “cheese flavor”! Will definitely look for these. A perfect treat after a hot summer walk!
They are real tasty as one can see by looking at Spencer’s tongue!
YUM! Those look awesome! How fun!
They are really yummy, especially on a hot day!
These are so nice to have in the freezer, especially if you’re not good at keeping up with making homemade frozen dog treats. Loved the pics, complete with checkered dog cloths! ๐
I like to do up my entertaining right! One can’t truly have a picnic without a checkered cloth! We really like these and the variety with homemade and these is great.
Ice cream are da bestest!
I bet you would like some right next to your pool!
Before I lost my sweet, deaf hound girl, Ran, to an autoimmune disorder in April, I used to have to scoop a little out of each of the four cups to make a fifth. Now we’re down to four dogs (for now) so they can each have their own. Since two of my dogs are very frightened of thunder and fireworks, I picked up a pack of these as a special treat on the 4th of July. I figured these would help distract the dogs from the fireworks. It helped – for the whole five minutes it took the dogs to eat these. LOL!
Katie and I wolf them down pretty quickly, but Bailie really took her time and just licked and licked until it was gone. Maybe for scary noises you need a real big meaty bone that lasts for hours?
what a great ice cream social you had, very nummy stuff
It was fun, and perfect on such a hot and humid day!
Great way to get your friends together for a social picnic in the park!! We will be reviewing these too and cannot wait to try them! Love the apron!!
I can already smell your review and it will be a tasty one!
The mint ones sound intriguing to me, I’ve not seen ice cream for dogs in that flavor. I bet they’d love it.
Mint is awesome. We hadn’t had it before either and loved it.
So many goodies featured on your blog! Beamer can hardly control himself thinking about this ice cream, even though it’s not for cats. Love the pic of all of you spread out on your own blankets. So cute! ๐
Had Bert been at the dog park, he would want the ice cream too!
My dogs would be so happy to have some doggy ice cream to celebrate the end of summer. Thank you for the chance to win.
