In my family, we all love to walk, and finding new places to walk, especially on vacation, always makes for more fun!
Mom is a runner, so we all have been her running partner for part of our lives. These days, running is Bailie’s job.
Exercise is not the only component to staying fit and healthy, what you eat also plays a big role!
The ABOUND Philosophy
ABOUND was founded on the belief that pet foods could be better, not just by a little, but by leaps and bounds. They envisioned a pet food that used all-natural ingredients, contained high-quality proteins as the first ingredient, and included real vegetables and wholesome whole grains.
For furry friends with more sensitive digestive systems, ABOUND now offers a grain free line with NO wheat, corn or soy fillers, NO animal-by product meal and NO artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.
Benefits of Grain Free
Grain free pet foods more closely mimic your pet’s natural, ancestral diet. ABOUND Grain Free recipes are protein-rich and feature easy-to-digest carbohydrates, with none of the grains that some pets find difficult to digest.
Take a look at the variety of dog food and treat options from ABOUND!

Walking, walking and more walking. We would walk around the world if we could!
If that job thing didn’t get in the way, we would walk forever too!
Bruin is a great runner in the woods! He likes to walk up and over fallen trees, jump over rocks, weave in and out of all the growing things. He also enjoys a swim in the pond! He’s a healthy dog, and Mommie & Twinkie stay healthy because they have to go along, too!
That is awesome. Working out in the great outdoors is the best!
Great post, Emma! It sounds like a fun challenge for Fall! My dogs’ favorite activity would be hunting for critters. I also enjoy allowing them to run off leash. Seeing them race around and playing is wonderful.
Critter hunting is our favorite activity too, but can’t be off leashed unless the area is fenced. We do a lot of running off leash at the park or in our yard. You two are awesome!
We are so excited because the doctor gave Mom new arthritis meds and she can walk with us again! We have a lot of catching up to do this fall. We ♥ walking!
Is she taking Rejenease, like Katie? So glad she feels better and can walk. Walking is actually good for arthritis.
With 3 English Shepherds in the family, it’s always a favorite activity to take them for walks even though they have to be taken separately.
Because of our age difference we can’t all three walk together anymore, but we usually end up with two walks, one alone and two together. Keep on paw padding forward!
we walk much longer now to rescue the Suzie Quattro Memorial pants :o) and honestly this season and the weather is too good to waste it with sitting at home :o)
Sitting in the house doing nothing on a beautiful day is a total shame. It makes Mom mad when she has to work on a great day! Good luck with the Suzie Quattro pants!
Emma, you’re such a good coach! Looking good!
Thanks 🙂 I like to be in charge!
We have 3 favorite things we do with our dogs Schooner and Skipper. First we love to go walking which is twice a day. We have a swimming pool so we do a lot of swimming until our pool closes down for the winter. Schooner and Skipper love to play ball. It seems like they have a ball in the mouths all the time.
Awesome! We love to walk, run, and play chase, but we also have our dog sports of tracking and nose work to keep us mentally and physically fit.
“Fat pants”…oh no, I guess I’ll have to put them away again and get moving huh?
Just say “no” to polyester stretch! Stretch out instead and take a run! 😉
I love going hiking with my pup.
Hiking is great. Wish we had more real hiking trails around our area, but we have lots of parks and forests with trails.
This looks like it is going to be a fun October full of fitness!!! I’m obsessed with playing fetch!!! 🙂
That is the retriever in you. I won’t even touch a ball! Bailie likes to play with a ball and is the only family member who can catch, not always, but sometimes.
What a great challenge for our fall season! We will be doing lots of walking!!!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
This is such a wonderful time to get out and walk or run! We just love it!
Just trying to keep up with multiple pups is great exercise year round.
Mom has really mellowed down dealing with the three of us! Funny thing is she never seems to have time for naps, so we handle that for her.
Those were all such great fit fotos! Y’all always do look spectacular!
We like to keep our girlish figures in check around here.
Honey and I WALK and walk and walk. Anytime I put my shoes on, Honey is soooo ready. And now with cooler weather, so am I.
We love our early morning walks the very best, but anytime is a good time for a walk!
We walk every day, rain or shine, and don’t feed our pups any junk food!!
We are 365 day a year walkers in any weather too. It really isn’t that hard to be out in all the elements. We mostly eat healthy, but occasionally we get some junk food as does Mom. We all only live once so we get in indulge in something decadent now and then.
I love taking my pups to the lake to go for a walk and some swimming
That sounds like fun! We love to swim too!
Love this and looking forward to joining this challenge! Some of the activities we enjoy doing together include hiking and walking, swimming, and trick training (some freestyle moves are our favorite which gets both the dog and person moving).
Tricks are so fun to see. Mom doesn’t have the patience to train us much for tricks. Have fun with the challenge this month!
I love taking my jrt on walks especially at parks so she can tree squirrels. We also like going for walks at the beach even tough she comes home sandy.
I used to get hosed down all the time when I lived near the beach, but it was worth it for the fun!
Mr. N loves his daily walks and hiking and we do a lot of trick training together.
Mr. N is a good trick guy I bet! I know he loves hiking.
Brilliant challenge! 🙂
Thank you. Hopefully it will get people and their dogs moving!
No matter what the season, our favorite activity is playing fetch! Walks come a close second, but fetch is really the only thing we do just about every single day.
Wow, so much cool fitness stuff going on right now, we’re bound to be in good shape for the holidays! This is a fun challenge and what a great giveaway!
Thank you. Wish I could have done the walk week too, but just too busy this month! We aren’t a fetch family, but it is a great activity for dogs who love it!
I am a huge fan of the daily walk. In fact, I take my pair on two walks per day! My life wouldn’t be the same without that morning/evening ritual.
Jean from Welcome to the Menagerie
Mornings are walks and runs here, midday some of us get another walk, and evenings we all walk again. It keeps Mom moving for sure with all the walking since she has to do it all twice but we all love it! We feel sad for those that don’t get out and walk!
We are all big walkers here too!! Jakey and Mama also like to go hiking in the woods!!
Smileys!
Dory, JAkey, Arty & Bilbo
I know you all are great walkers. It is a super activity to do together.
Faraday: I snoopervise mommy’s workouts! And I sit on her chest when she does bench presses – does that count?
For you cats, working out has a whole new meaning! Maybe try push ups and you sit on her back? Main thing is you are supervising!
We are certified supervisors! Mama is in recuperation mode right now from a bad fall…and an RA flare. We are in charge of just keeping her moving!!
We are waiting for Mom’s next fall. She usually does a face plant while running once a year and smashes her face pretty good. Sorry to hear about your mom, but kitties are great nurses. Keep her snuggled and warm.
My favorite activity I do with the dogs is going down to the river for a dip 🙂
We love water too. Sounds like lots of fun!
the Chihuahuas well they don’t do a whole lot except to lay around looking pretty Now my 2 pits love to play fetch with anything that you throw at them- plastic bottles or cans their balls and sticks They also love to play tug of war and chase with each other after playing for an hour or two I am worn out the dogs not so much there like the energizer bunny they go and go and go
The Chihuahuas sound more like cats, LOL! We have lots of energy, but we aren’t into ball. I know lots of ball obsessed dogs will play until they fall over!
I enjoy taking our dog to the pond. I didn’t expect him to jump right in but he loves it.
I love to go in any water, but my mom insists on only nice clean water spots. Swimming is great exercise.
Sounds like a fun challenge.
It will be a fun filled FitDog month.
Walking is my favorite way to get around. I could walk all day if I had the time. This is a great prize pack!
We feel the same way. Too bad humans have so many other things they have to do!
Walking is about the only activity we do. LOL and some days we don’t do it all that well.;-) But we do it and it helps us keep the weight off.
Hey, it’s an activity, and looks have nothing to do with burning calories!
This sounds like so much fun, we are marking our calendar! We love walking and hiking during the Fall!
The weather is perfect and the trees are so pretty, it is a great time of year for getting out.
My favorite activity to do with my dog? Read MYGBVLIFE. Just kidding. Seriously though, you always put so much work into your photos, I know all your readers appreciate and enjoy looking at them and reading your posts. My favorite activites to do with my dog include agility, trick training (she knows around 200), photography, running, hiking, and making videos! I would be super excited to win this giveaway! It is the best I think that I have seen all year!
Thank you. Mom and I love doing photos, it is super fun and then we create a story from them. So nice to know my readers enjoy our posts! I need to learn a trick, maybe I can steal one from you, something simple?
Ruby loves to fetch her flying disc on her long line! Boca likes leisurely strolls.
Sounds like a fun game!
Love playing on the floor with my dog! She gets so excited when i get down to her level!
It’s always fun when humans get on the floor with their pets!
Going for long walks or just playing in the yard!
Both of those activities are super fun!
what a great challenge, sorry we had to miss it.
You can still enter the giveaway until the 26th.
I love hiking and going on walks through the woods with my dogs. We also love swimming in the lake together.
The woods is always fun with all the smells and stuff.
We like to go on nature walks.
That is always fun. We love all the fun smells out there.
