The pumpkin search continues after the first attempt failed with the burrs, a mud puddle, and the lost lens hood incidents all within minutes of each other. I’m not a quitter, so I got right back on the wagon and continued my search for the Great Pumpkin.
Have you ever seen Pumpkin Hounds? Well now you have. We are getting ready to start our intensive searches.
Bailie got off to a good pumpkin search finding some nice ones by the old tractor.
She found a few more, but all still pretty small, on the other side of the tractor.
Old habits die hard they say and it appears to be true with Bailie. This will be her third Halloween, and she still insists on chewing the stems off of pumpkins!
I found some more pumpkins on my pumpkin search, but no Great Pumpkin to be seen.
Meanwhile, I landed back by the tractor with some smaller pumpkins. Bailie and I had a real good search, but I will have to continue my Great Pumpkin quest at another pumpkin patch. Stay tuned!
Don’t forget to enter Walkies! Fit Bites for dogs! Just two days left, and remember one of the three bags you win is BACON flavor! They are small, soft chews, not crunchy. I know several readers have asked about that. Good Luck!
Ah, the ever elusive great pumpkin! Emma, you can find it, you are so persistent and good at nose work too!
I’m stepping up my search, and I still have a couple weeks to find it!
Keep searching you will find it!
I’m on it. I hope to find it soon.
The Great Pumpkin; a noble quest!
I’m doing my best to find it but it seems like it will take time.
Keep on keeping on! I am sure with your dedication (and the help of little sister) you will find that giant, elusive pumpkin. XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
Not sure how much help Bailie will be, but I’m searching hard.
You’ll find the perfect pumpkin, but until you do you just have to enjoy the (tractor) ride.
Give my paws a bit of a rest!
maybe Bailie made that pumpkins ready for the candles inside? I mean they need anyway a hole on the top :o)
I think she just likes to chew pumpkins stems. She can be a bit odd!
We have not been able to even find a pumpkin patch! All of our fields are full of cotton. Still, we didn’t even find a rabbit in those! WTD! Keep searching, I know that you can find him. β₯
What kind of a place do you live in with no pumpkin patch? That is sad! I’m keeping my search up.
I know your fabulous nose skills will come through for you!
I know it is out there and I will find it!
I’m sure you’ll find your pumpkin!
I’m doing my best to locate it, but it may take time.
Thank goodness you still have plenty of time! Hoping the perfect pumpkin turns up! The photos are gorgeous! DakotasDen
Mom tells me I will never break any speed records with my searching but I am thorough. I know I will find it.
Aw these photo turned out fantastic!!!!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Thank you.
Wow, so many pumpkins there, and still no great pumpkin! We admire your and Bailie’s perseverance, Emma, and hope it pays off soon. At least it looks like you got to enjoy a very beautiful day out there!
I am still searching, but I love to search, so I don’t mind. I will post an update again next week.
Okay we have to back track and find out about the mud and stuff! Love Dolly
The first try was not a pretty one!
We know you will find the purrrfect pumpkin!
I will, no rush, I just keep sniffin’ until I find it.
Those are some mighty cute pumpkin hounds! =D
Thank you π
Great pictures. Love the one of Bailie nibbling the stem. Can’t imagine that’s very tasty! We got some pumpkins today in our CSA box – didn’t even have to go search for them! Maybe I’ll try to get Rita to pose with them. (Pretty sure she won’t be interested in nibbling the stems!) π
Bailie has gnawed off the stems every year. We don’t get it either, but she loves to do it so we need to keep her away from them.
Those are some gorgeous photos, Emma! I hope you find the perfect pumpkin soon!
Thanks. I’m not a dog in a rush, so I will search until I find the one.
Hope ya find da Great Pumpkin before Howloween!
Time is getting shorter every day, but I’m confident I will find it.
Hi Emma! You are silly because I go in mud puddles all the time and they make my belly feel all cool and stinky! Sometimes after I go in the mud puddle my Mommie accidentally knocks me into a pond. But if I get into the burr bush, and I always get into the burr bush, then Mommie combs and combs and combs out the burrs so I don’t get mats. Mats really stink, but burr bushes are a lot of fun, at least that’s what my Mommie says because I go in them so much. Tomorrow maybe I’ll go looking for pumpkins instead of burrs.
Good luck finding your grand pumpkin!
Bruin
Burrs are painful but those stupid bushes are hiding everywhere.
That pumpkin patch looks like a lot of fun…
It was fun, but we still haven’t found the perfect pumpkin yet.
Glad there were no burrs this time. Looks like a fun outing. Maybe you will find the Great Pumpkin next time.
I’m a very determined dog, so I think I will.
Good luck in your pumpkin quest! I’m sure your persistence will pay off and you’ll find one larger than Katie.
Well, I have to be able to fit it into the car to get it home.
Best of luck in your search! I hear the pumpkins pickins are that great this year!
There are a lot of them to sniff through on my quest, so it is taking me some time.
Are you searching for THE Great Pumpkin or just a really large one, because if it’s THE Great Pumpkin, he only comes out on Halloween.
I was searching for The Great Pumpkin which is why I had to read up on it. Not sure where I am at in my search now, but I will update my plan on Monday.
looks like you had fun on your great search
It’s a big project, but I’m enjoying it.
