Pumpkin is the word for week 43 of the 52 Snapshots of Life Photo Challenge. My very favorite pumpkin is the kind in the can. I love this stuff straight out of the can, in my food or in baked goods. It is so yummy and it is healthy for dogs and cats to eat. I choose the can of pumpkin for my photo this week.
As long as pumpkin is the topic, I have some news on my search for the Great Pumpkin. I’ve been searching really hard in many pumpkin patches.
I decided to stop and read about it one more time to see if I missed any clues.
After reading my book, I continued my quest, sniffing through thousands of pumpkins.
I know the Great Pumpkin only comes out on Halloween, but I put in a special request this year. I have a nose work trial on Halloween and will not be able to search for the Great Pumpkin on Halloween. I was allowed to find and identify the Great Pumpkin early. I just love it! Huge, pretty, simply great!
Even the Minion Witch got to pose with the Great Pumpkin a bit early this year. Now I can stop sniffin’ pumpkins and concentrate on sniffin’ for my nose work trial!
Today, Iβm joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop sponsored by BlogPaws! Donβt forget to stop by and visit some new blogs for fun!
My friends at The Lazy Pitbull had the idea for theΒ #PBSG and #52Snapshots of Life photo challenge. The linky for the current week will be posted on Friday mornings. Be sure to see what other blogs come up with for the word of the week!
Love you great pumpkin and you sure make a very cute minnion!!! π
Thank you. I love my Great Pumpkin too.
Glad you found the Great Pumpkin!
Me too. I love it, really nice and big!
we hear there is actually a big pumpkin shortage this year – hope you will be able to find them π
Actually, the shortage is for the type of pumpkins that are made into canned pumpkin. The actual Halloween pumpkins are not the same kind used for that. The canned pumpkin pumpkins are really ugly and they are in short supply.
Good work Emma!!!
Thank you. It was a lot of sniffin.
Great job hunting down the Great Pumpkin.
It was hard work, but I’m really happy I found it.
well done! I guessed it that you can sniff out that GREAT pumpkin :o) btw: the one on the left is the pumpkin my dad bought… definitely no carving material..sigh…
Oh dear. Sounds like the Christmas Tree Charlie Brown picked out, not the best one.
OMD!!! That pumpkin is huge – it certainly is the great pumpkin. How did you ever manage to pick it up, carry it to the car, carry it into the yard, and then carry it to wherever you want to display it for Halloween? I might be able to pull it by its stem, and the mom is no good since she cannot lift over 5 pounds…OMD! XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
The stem is pretty strong. Mom has to help me move it around.
Good job Emma, you found the “Great Pumpkin”, and by the way you look very dapper in these photos.
Thank you. Lots of Halloween spirit floating around at my house.
Did you find the great pumpkin
Lily & Edward
I sure did, and I’m real proud of it too.
That is one pawesome, pawesome pumpkin! DakotasDen
It sure is big! I’ve never had such a big one before.
Pumpkin is the perfect dog treat, delicious and healthy. A win/win.
It sure is, and if you ask Bailie she will tell you the stems make great chews.
WE found some GRRRREAT Pumpkin mixed into our Suppers last night… Just sayin.
Oh that would be yummy! Last time Mom opened the can of pumpkin Bert and I fought over who got to eat it right out of the can.
That is a ginormous pumpkin. You will have some great pumpkin from the Great Pumpkin. BOL! BOL!
I’m sure you will ace your nose test after sniffing out the real pumpkin!
I’m always working hard on my sniffing technique and I hear from everyone I am getting better, now my teammate, aka Mom, needs to up her game.
Mission accomplished, Emma! You did find the great pumpkin and good luck with getting back on track with the nose work!
I’m pretty on track with my nose work. The pumpkin search was just another form of it but now I’m back to birch, anise, and clove.
YOU FOUND IT! Go Emma! π
I know! I’m pretty excited!
Congratulations Emma I knew you’d find it! Love Dolly
I did, and I love it. What a Great Pumpkin!
Orange you having fun with those pumpkins! ?!?
Orange you glad I’m not a banana π
It truly is a great pumpkin! Congratulations
I’ve never had a big one like this before!
Yay! That’s a gorgeous pumpkin! Great job, Emma!
Thanks! I think it might be even bigger than I am.
We agree, that certainly is a great pumpkin! We hope all the pumpkin sniffing was good practice for your nose work trials, so you do well there!
I’ve been doing really well, so I hope it continues.
All dat sniffin out da Great Pumpkin wuz good practice for your nose work trial!
My life is all about my nose π
Great job, Emma! be careful of that witch, though.
I know there are good and bad witches, so I do have to watch out.
Aren’t all pumpkins great?
Some are real ugly, but most of them are pretty nice.
It’s always good to be prepared Emma! I like the pumpkin you found too. It has a cool stem.
Now I have to keep Bailie from chewing it off. She loves to chew on stems.
Love the pic of you reading the Great Pumpkin!
Thanks. I love to read.
You picked a pawsome Great Pumpkin!!! We are with you regarding canned pumpkin….that is the best pumpkin around, we even get it directly on our kibble!!
Smileys!
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
Stock up on the canned pumpkin, they say there will be a shortage because those kinds of pumpkins had a bad year!
Oh my goodness, what cute pics! I especially love the one of you reading your book with all the pumpkins around you. (Re: your comment above – I heard that there will be a shortage of canned pumpkin this year. Have to remember to get some at the store next time!)
We recently learned canned pumpkin pumpkins are different from the decorative ones and there is a shortage. We bought a bunch yesterday for 99 cents a can.
Pumpkins are certainly popular this time of year! We’ve been sniffing a few ourselves lately!
It’s the season!
Looks like you had a fun outing to the pumpkin patch. I love your glasses!
Thank you. I did have a lot of fun. Lots of good sniffin’ there!
We love pumpkin at our house too! This time of year I am buying it by the case at our local warehouse. With both my guys we can go through a lot. Right now I have 5 or 6 cases. I have to check…I might need to pick up one more this weekend.
And Mom was impressed with herself buying 4 cans the other day. Maybe she should do a case or two at Sams if they have it. We can always use it.
We love pumpkin!! It is so healthy for the dogs, and cats too!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
I got some on my breakfast this morning and it was so yummy! The cat got some too because Mom dropped a bit.
My goodness, your glasses are almost as thick as mine! But you look adorable in them.
Jean from Welcome to the Menagerie
LOL! I think they make me look smart!
Congrats on finding the Great Pumpkin! They should give you bonus points for that at your trial.
I know. Since it is a Halloween trial they should have Halloween fun searches, but some dogs would be scared, so that probably won’t happen.
You managed to get some great pumpkin photos, Emma!
It’s that time of year!
You picked a great pumpkin. My dogs love pumpkin and so do I.
Mom mom likes it, is not nuts for it, but all five of us furs go crazy for it.
Great pumpkin photo shoot π
Thank you.
Charlie Brown (the dog) and I watched “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” cartoon the other night on TV! So fun!
We love to watch that too!
I can’t remember if I commented on this post or not, lol. I wanted to say, great work, and wonderful photos! =)
Thank you!
