The FitDog Friday Fall Fitness Challenge with myself, SlimDoggy, To Dog With Love, and ABOUND is wrapping up. Today I’m going to review our three weeks of challenges and you have another chance to tell us about how you have met the challenges either by linking up to our blog hop or by posting a comment. On social media, remember to use the hashtag #FallFitDog! Make sure to stop back next week when we announce the giveaway winners and give out awards!
We are partnering with ABOUND to bring you the FitDog Friday Fall Fitness Challenge and giveaway. Prizes will be provided and shipped by ABOUND. My GBGV Life only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers. ABOUND is not responsible for the content of this article.
The Week #1 Challenge – No Grain, No Gain
Week one was all about doing fun activities with your dog! Fun activities could be walking, swimming, dog sports such as agility, anything to get you and your dog moving around, burning calories, staying in shape. Fun activities combined with a grain free diet can improve the health of your pet. Grain free pet foods more closely mimic your pet’s natural, ancestral diet. ABOUND Grain Free recipes are protein-rich and feature easy-to-digest carbohydrates, with none of the grains that some pets find difficult to digest.
The Week #2 Challenge – Super Food, Super Circuit
Do you set up training circuits for your dog? We don’t have a formal training circuit. We have our chase game almost every evening, racing the same basic route at high speed until we are exhausted. Sometimes we do get our tunnel out for some additional challenge and fun. Add super food to your dog’s diet and training regimen to help them stay healthy and have plenty of energy. One of my favorite super foods is pumpkin, which helps promote good digestion and sharp vision. It just so happens one of ABOUND’s new dog foods contains pumpkin! We love some of the other awesome super foods too, like blueberries and salmon!
The Week #3 Challenge – Sweet and Strong Strength Training
Last week I talked about the importance of building muscles and keeping them in good condition so you can run, play, and do dog sports. Strong muscles will help your dog live a healthier, and longer life. I do a lot of conditioning on my every day photo shoots, but I also enjoy working out at the playground down the street. Using the equipment for balance helps work out my core. One of my favorite parts of a good workout is rewarding myself with a healthy snack. Grain Free Sweet Potato Slices from ABOUND are perfect post workout snacks! Sweet potatoes are great for us dogs because they are packed with vitamin A, B6 and C, plus minerals manganese, iron, potassium, fiber, and zinc, and did you know they are natural dental aids, since the chewy texture helps remove built-up tartar and plaque.
It’s not too late to enter to win a $200+ ABOUND prize package!
You and your #FallFitDog deserve to be rewarded for your hard work! There will be four lucky winners! For all the furry details, and to enter, visit our Fall Fitness Challenge Week #1 Post! Giveaway runs through October 26th, 2015. The amazing ABOUND prize pack is filled with these goodies!

I think junk food is pretty much out of our diets which is alright since the healthy stuff tastes pretty good these days!
OMD Emma… you must be our long lost SISTER… WE also just LOVE Pumpkin… and Sweet Potatoes…
They are SOOOOOO good and good FUR us… RIGHT???
Pumpkin is the best ever. Sweet potato I come and go on, but my sisters are nuts for it.
Great Challenge Emma, as always you and your sisters were star performers!
We like to be fit and have space for snacks.
Great ways to stay fit!
Thanks. We try to be creative.

Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
Thank you. I bet you smaller dogs can find really fun stuff to work on your core.
It’s great to keep fit and I can see you have lots of fun doing so!
We do. We love exercising!
Up, down, through or around – there’s no obstacle these pups can’t take on.
We do try it all when we can! Penny would fit right in and Eko could watch with Katie from the sideline.
We enjoyed seeing all the pictures and different ways dogs stay fit. Thanks for the fun blog hop!
Thanks for joining us. Your dogs are so talented when it comes to tricks and stuff. We aren’t good at that at all!
I tried going in that tunnel once and I was stuck with fear
Lily (& Edward)
Some dogs are scared, but we love racing through or jumping on it when someone else is racing through.
We’ve loved your Fitness challenge posts!
You guys are some of the fittest pups on your side of the pond I think.
Y’all really are fit and fancy! I think I will take a nap and think about getting fit.
My cats feel the same way about us dogs. Must be that cat nap marathon training that gets in the way.
What a fun challenge that was! We can always use motivation like that to get us moving and trying new things. We’re glad we were able to join your fun after all! Now we just need to find a playground for Luke to practice in!
We have playgrounds at every turn around here. Hope you find one for him to workout on.
Thanks for hosting the doggie blog hop again!
That was a fun challenge for sure! You guys should do another one, maybe throughout December?!
Yikes, December! Such a busy month! I think early in the new year when people are being lazy because of winter and they feel overweight from the holidays. We shall see.
some really great challenges you gals did.
They were a couple good ones.
Great blogs that have really given me food for thought. It’s Monday tomorrow – maybe time to get ti wirk on my fitness before the holiday season!
If you have a good fitness routine, the holidays won’t be a problem. Just get in the habit and you will stay fit all year round.
Emma, you’re an awesome coach!
I do what I can to motivate everyone.
You guys are doing great! It’s been fun following along with you!
