This is the first ever Trick or Treat Giveaway Hop and we are so excited to be a part of the fun! A huge apaws for the host of the hop, Kol’s Notes, and the co-host Beagles and Bargains! The good news is, I will be doing the trick today, but you get to try to win the treats!

Just like on Halloween, my trick first, then your treat!
I’m not much of a trick dog, so this was not an easy feat! I decided to do a wave to my audience, and then hold a wooden spoon in my mouth. I know, some of you dogs are always holding stuff in your mouth. Well, I don’t like to hold anything in my mouth, so this was a project. Since I love to bake, Mom thought I would be in the kitchen and hold a wooden spoon. Mom had to help me do the tricks and video, so it is not the best footage ever, but it works!
How did we do it?
First I learned “feety up” a while back so it looks like I’m raising my paw. Mom waved at me and I waved back. It was pretty simple!
Next the “hold”. Mom had to get me to open my mouth, then she put the spoon in and said hold. It took a couple days and sessions, but I finally agreed to cooperate and hold the spoon. There were lots of treats involved and Mom is hoping we can expand this trick a bit more in the future. Keep an eye open when I am baking, you may see some additions to this trick! Do your dogs do any fun tricks? Are they easy to teach, or difficult like me?

LOL Thunder is the best at holding things (that are not ducks or birds) in our house so he usually is the one I use when I need a hold for a photo shoot. The other two seem to think it is an insult to have to hold anything that is not a bird.
Yeah, I’m not big on this hold thing, but I may continue doing it for short periods of time as it seems to make my mom really happy.
