Who wants some freshly baked simple pumpkin cookies? Halloween may be over, but fall in general and Thanksgiving are also great times to eat pumpkin! Mom bought me a new fall baking apron the other day, so baking these cookies was a good excuse to test it out! Do you love my baking photos and posts? Read through to the end of this post for a surprise from Chef Emma!
I call them simple pumpkin cookies because there are only four ingredients and you can mix them up faster than a GBGV can catch a wabbit. That means super, duper fast!
When the dough is nice and stiff, plunk it out onto a flour covered counter and roll it out flat.
Hey look everyone! I caught a pesty tree rat, aka squirrel, trying to get into my dough! The nerve!
I cut out squirrels and bones and placed them on my parchment paper covered baking sheet. A paws up tip for all you baking dogs! The flour can get kind of messy, so either have a fur sibling lick up the floor for you or make sure your Mom vacuums when you are done.
Whew! They are all cut out, on the baking sheet, and ready for baking. I can’t wait to taste them. I love pumpkin and it is so good for me too!
After about one long, very long, hour of baking and cooling, my cookies were all done and ready for tasting.
Oh boy, I’ve got my paws on the cookies. I want to try them, and if it doesn’t happen soon, I may drool!
No doubts here. These pumpkin cookies pass the taste bud test without any problem! Yum! Like I said, they are so easy, only four ingredients! You can get my Simple Pumpkin Recipe here if you or your dog would like to make them!
Oh you’re right it’s just great to see you in the kitchen! And my momma bowed her head with shame as she saw your cookies while she remembered her epic cookie fail from last week :o)
I love to bake and I usually do a pretty good job. Even when they don’t look so great, they are tasty.
they sure look great… and at last they land in our stomachs anyway… tooooo tasty to frame them and to hang it on our walls :o)
My cat would climb the wall to get it if I framed it!
Love how you sit in front and the cookies and just wait. Such a good girl!
I’m a proper girl with good manners I guess π
Now that it’s getting cold, I’d really like to do some baking. And I’m sure Honey would like to do some treat sampling.
I think you’ve inspired me, Emma.
I’d love to know how baking in a boat works out! Sounds difficult.
those do sound good – but sadly no pumpkin allowed for Denny π
It is a bummer you guys have so many food issues. Makes us realize how lucky we are to not have any.
We have been looking for a pumpkin treat recipe for Rae that is simple and these will surely do the trick! Thanks so much for sharing!
It doesn’t get much easier than these and they are super yummy…didn’t last long at our house.
I’m sure they won’t at ours either! Rae loves to eat π
You guys have plenty of treats sent to you, but whenever there’s a break in the flood it’s nice you can always self supply.
Mom says we have four categories, chews for the evenings, small treats for rewarding here and there, high value rewards for our sports, and nice cookies for snacks during the day. The last category is usually the one lacking, so my cookies fill the void. We also have dog food, but I’m more focused on the snack end of things π
Yummm, those looks good. And I think the calendar is a way fun idea!
Thank you. We will see if people are interested in seeing me in the kitchen every month or not.
You know how I love it when you bake. Congratulations on your calendar! It is beautiful. β₯
You have to be quick, though. These cookies did not last long at all with three of us munching them down! Glad you like the calendar. Hope others like it too.
You sure cooked up another fine bunch of yum Emma! Hey, very cool on the cooking calendar, we’ll have to order one of those soon.
I was in the baking mood and we needed some nice fresh cookies around here. Bert is in the calendar once or twice too, so it could be classified as cat friendly.
Baking calendar? *SQUEEEEEE!* That’s awesome!!!!
Oh, and I would like some of those cookies please! LOL!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
How awesome, your own baking calendar!!! You are one cool dog!!! Next year you can have a nose work calendar!!! Just an idea!!! π
Now that would be super fun!
PAWsomely delicious looking cookies and awesome calendar!
Thank you. I was feeling like cooking with the cooler weather.
The Momz hates vacuuming, so having a fur sibling clean up the floor is a great idea! Making a baking calendar was a great idea too!
At our house, as with your household, there are plenty of furs who are eager to clean up.
Looks tasty!
They really are π
Going to be trying these this week-end when I take some days off π Thanks!!!!
They are one of the easiest recipes I’ve made and tasty too.
YAY! A calendar and a great recipe! I keep telling Mom that we need to get our calendar up, but we will see if she ever listens. I was Mr. April for my rescue groups calendar!
I know you were Mr. April, Bailie is still howling about that! She brags about knowing a calendar boy π
Pumpkin cookies are one of our absolute favorites!! We need to have Mama get Arty’s baking hat out so they can get to the holiday baking SOON!!
Smileys!
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
PeeEss….Dory is very sorry to hear you will be wearing that silly turkey hat! Sometimes we curse the Target $1 bins!!!
Tell you mom she doesn’t have to wait to bake those cookies for you. It is never a bad time for pumpkin cookies.
Those look super yummy!
They are real good. We haven’t been able to access your blog this week, but we heard you were having server issues. We will keep trying.
easy peezy for sure! Holy cow what a great surprise and idea for your calendar. I hope you get lots of sales.
I think I need a new slogan like “give the gift of Emma” to boost sales.
Aww such a good dog to sit and patiently wait in front of the cookies!
I know how to model. I love posing for the camera.
Your pictures are amazing!
Thank you, but you should try these cookies, they are pretty amazing for my doggy taste buds!
You are definitely the grand poopaw of baking Emma! Love Dolly
I don’t know what a poopaw is, but my mom is sure laughing!
Pumpkin is a big hit in our house too!!
We all just love it. Mom has to be careful when she has an open can as we all want to steal it!
Pumpkin ANYTHING rocks in Doodleville. Love the calendar Emma, so sweet of you to share your recipes with all of us.
I love to eat the pumpkin straight out of the can, but Mom wants me to bake with it.
What temp for the oven on the pumpkin cookies
Can the wheat flour be substituted with AP (white) Flour??? I don’t have much to work with but I’ve been wanting to make my stepdog, Hank, something yummy and homemade. I love to bake for everyone else at home, and I’d like to be able to bake something sweet and yummy for him, that I won’t have to feel guilty about being not so great for his health :/ Is the wheat flour essential in this recipe?? Or is the white AP Flour bad for my Hanky??
Thanks so much!!
I have switched out flour on recipes before. I just google it to see if the amount would need to be different.
What do u preheat the oven to
Is it ok to use oat flour?
Not sure. You would have to google substituting oat flour.
How long of a shelf life do these have if stored properly?
What temp on the oven and how long? Only says one hour of baking and cooling???
