The holiday party season is upon us! Let’s face it, some holiday parties are the best, and some are plain disasters! I’m going to show you how to put together the best holiday party ever, one your guests will howl about until next year!
Fancy and memorable are the keys to success. You need a festive spot to entertain your guests, and food to wow them! At my house, Merrick is always a “wow factor” food. Why not put together the best party favors ever using your favorite treats? I’m going to use Merrick Lamb Lung Bites and Real Beef Sausage Cuts for my party favors. Yum!
My party favors look real fancy, but are so easy to make! Simply cut some large squares of festive foil wrap, add the treats to the center, gather up the edges and tie shut with pretty holiday ribbon. Be sure and count the treats so each favor has the same number to eliminate the risk of guests arguing over who got how many of what. Keep a close eye on your guests in case any of them try to eat the entire party favor. The packaging is not edible.
Set your holiday table up so it is real inviting. I like to use a colorful tablecloth and my Christmas dishes. Place the party favors at each place setting.
Always be aware of cats if you happen to have any in your household. They like to sneak up on the table when you are slaving away in the kitchen. You don’t want any cat burglars stealing the party favors!
Choose your main course carefully. Today I will be serving the grain free, limited edition, Merrick Holly Jolly Pot Roast. A good hearty meal will keep your guests glued to the table and cut down on unnecessary growling and barking during dinner. Your guests will also remember your party and talk about it to all their friends if the food is to howl about!
The Holly Jolly Pot Roast is so tasty, your dog will want to dive right in, head first!
Today, I invited my sisters, Katie and Bailie to join me for this delicious meal. They were more than happy to join me for a dinner party, and came dressed for the occasion.
Katie and Bailie were a bit overzealous with starting to eat. I wasn’t quite ready, but they said it smelled so good, they simply could not wait!
Katie emptied her bowl in about two seconds, Bailie and I were still working out our portions for a bit. Being French Scent Hounds, we appreciate good food and prefer to savor the taste.
What dog would not enjoy a meal of Holly Jolly Pot Roast made with beef, potatoes and carrots in a fine beef gravy?
I have to say, my holiday party was a huge success! Do you think your dog would enjoy hosting a festive holiday party with Merrick Holly Jolly Pot Roast this year? The #BestDogEver sure deserves one of the best meals ever!

I have taken very careful notes! Thanks for the party tips. And yes, kitties do not like to be left out and sometimes hop up and steal the centerpiece right off the table …or at least that happens in our house.
Kitties can be really naughty. We dogs have to watch out!
Looks like the kind of party Teach and Tucker would LOVE!!
I think any dog would love it!
Great Holiday pawtry tips, Emma! The mom has some Holly Jolly waiting for us for our Christmas dinner. YUMMY! XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
You are so lucky your mom is always stocking up on the good stuff for you!
What a fun Holiday party. Lover Bert!
It was fun, once we managed to get rid of Bert!
I took notes too! What with my new little brother who love s to party all the time, i need all theh help I can get!
Chablis
Careful with him. He will be all about the party favors!
What – why didn’t we all get invited to the party π π
Because you guys moved from MN to where ever and then FL. Too far. I had enough food.
You guys are the hosts with the most (treats!). I love how Katie, like Eko, is always at table height so doesn’t have to work very hard to snag a bite.
She was right there and snarfed it down. She has a hard time sitting for any amount of time these days, so we let it slide. I’m the short one and couldn’t get up to my bowl as fast as the other two.
Now that is one party I know my huskies would LOVE!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
The food is the glue that holds a party together.
You are the Martha Stewart of the dog world! What a fabulous party. β₯ Merrick’s special Christmas dinner sounds delicious.
I do my best to create the right atmosphere. I can cook, but that is only half the battle. The presentation makes or breaks it.
You are quite a hostess! Very nice!
I try to be a good hostess.
Oh how I would like to sit on that table with you … and I would enjoy this food as much as you… but I’m there a little bit via your blog , that’s good too :o)
Maybe you can find something comparable in France and have your own party? Maybe ZooPlus.de?
we have to use zooplus.fr, and there the range is completely different …. but we will find something I’m sure. in worst case my grandpawrents can bring it to me when the visit me :o)
At least the worst case is an option.
What a great party–decorations, good food and party favors! Wow!! Lilly and I are on our way over!! your doodle friend Dash
If you are going to host a party, you have to do it big! Come on over, I have plenty of food.
Oh my goodness, that would really be some pawty if Merrick Stew is involved!
Cat bro Bert was not happy he wasn’t invited.
The hostess always eats last, so you were being very polite holding back there, Emma! You made sure your guests were settled in first. That looks like a very fun party, and the menu superb!
The food was amazing as expected.
If you are passing out goodies at your party Emma, we will be there!
Every guest gets a party favor!
Emma, you have impeccable table manners letting your guests go first…food is definitely the glue for a successful party. Love the bone stockings
Thank you. The entire party turned out fabulous and the guests were quite happy.
Great advice and OMD Momma needs to order us some of that Holly Jolly Pot Roast ASAPlease….
xoxo,
Ginger, Matt & Matilda
It is very good and makes a great holiday meal!
Looks like you’ve covered everything for this pawty Emma! Way to go!
I try to be a hostess with the mostest!
With Shadow’s and Ducky’s super-sensitive tummies, I have to be very careful about the food I give them, and the amount. BUT it looked like a wonderful, fun pawty for you girls.
None of us have any food issues, thankfully, but Merrick is a good food, and grain free.
Whoa Emma, you guys do the best howliday pawtys! Cool beans. π
I’m kind of a Julia Childs and Martha Stewart type of hound π
Sounds about right! When I see you in Modern Bride, I’ll know you’ve totally hit the big time! π
Oh yikes! Maybe Bailie will make it there, but I have no time for that wedding stuff and boys! Maybe food and whine?
I’m with you on that one!
Looks like a fun party.
We all had a great time with great food.
