Gingerbread cookies for dogs? It’s the holiday season and every dog deserves some homemade yummy cookies! Why not follow along with me here in my kitchen as I show you how easy these cookies are to make?
I do have one secret ingredient in my gingerbread cookies for dogs, the molasses! Who wouldn’t want to put some liquid wabbit in their cookies? Mom insists it is only a name, but I know there has to be wabbit in this magical Brer Rabbit molasses!
These yummy cookies only have six ingredients, so they are real simple. First, I mix the dry ingredients together, then add the liquids and mix until I have a nice dough. Don’t worry if any paw fur gets into the bowl, it only adds a bit of extra flavor.
Rolling out the dough is the tough part. I usually end up with half the flour on the floor! I need to get it all flat and about 1/4 inch thick.
Next I use some of my favorite, festive holiday cookie cutters to cut out the cookies. This recipe makes a good two dozen average sized cookies. They don’t get bigger when they bake, so I can place them close together on my cookie sheet.
Oh boy! Look at these beauties! They are all ready to go in the oven. I can hardly keep my paws of of them!
The oven appears to be pre-heated so I can stick the cookies into the oven to bake. The house will smell so nice too! Mom is having a hard time not trying these because she says they smell just like the gingerbread cookies for people.
After baking, the cookies need to cool off. I’m sorry, but I really cannot resist. These are afterall, gingerbread cookies for dogs and I am a dog. I’m going to try and sneak a warm one real quick!
Show some holiday spirit and share these cookies with your friends by tweeting my recipe!

Here they, are, the finished gingerbread cookies for dogs. They are super easy and completely yummy. As always, I do have the recipe as a pdf for you to download if your dog wants to give baking these a whirl!
Enjoy!
Mom loves English gingerbread cookies – without the molasses which makes them way to sweet.
My mom loves the super sweet stuff. She is always frustrated with pastries in Europe because they never had enough sugar. It is an American “problem”.
OMD these look super tasty!! I don’t nose how you are controlling yourself. I would have eaten the whole plate before Mom even got the flashy thing out π BOL
xoxo,
Ginger, Matt & Matilda
Mom says I have an excellent work ethic. I know I have to work hard but I am rewarded well when my job is done. π
Those look so yummy! The mom uses molasses in the cookies she bakes for us. In fact she made them for the neighborhood pups in our annual neighborhood cookie exchange! She has lost of whole wheat flour left over so she may try making these. XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
That molasses made from wabbit really adds that “something special” I think. You would love these too.
thanks for such a tasty post! I’m with you there is sure rabbit inside… it’s not only the name… some rabbits are invisible, like that Harvey in the old movie… and I bet in that bottle are invisible rabbits too. 87… or more :o)
Very small invisible wabbits, and they taste amazing!
Your the best baker ! You should start selling your cookies and treats b
LOL! That would be something! I think the competition in the treat business would make it pretty tough, but I do love to bake…and eat!
You are invited to bake in our kitchen anytime
Lily & Edward
Be careful. I may land on your doorstep one day π
Mmmmm, if I make these for the dogs, they would have to share.
My mom wanted some, but she didn’t try them. She says they smell just like the human version she loves. Good stuff.
Will you put some out for Santa too? Guess what Emma… it’s a snow day here!!! Mom is home. The snow is falling and we can’t wait to head out soon. It’s kinda windy and cold so mom keeps whining that maybe it’s too cold. No way!! Woohooo!!!! Have a great day, your doodle friend Dash
What is with your mom? It is never too cold! You are so lucky! No snow here at all π At least I have cookies!
OMD! You know how I love it when you bake. β₯ β₯ I had Mom save the recipe so she can make these for me. They sound yummy so I think she should make me a gingerbread doghouse! BOL! XXOO Bentley β₯
Would she make one big enough for you to sit in? If she does, call me. I’m coming down with my photographer! A small one would be cute too. Great idea! I guess guys think of building and us girls are thinking baking.
You are very CORRECT Emma.. if it Says Wabbit… there MUST be WABBIT In it… there are LAWS that say TRUTH in Advertising…
OMD those look and sound AMAZING…
They are amazingly good. I’m giving some to my friends around here since it is the season of giving, and they will love them.
We always love your cooking shows, they’re the best!!!
I’m Julia Childs and Martha Stewart all rolled into one furry hound!
Those sound yummy!!
Trust me, they certainly are!
These look awesome, Emma! I am collecting recipes and trying to decide which ones I’ll be making this year for the crew (and when I’m going to have time to bake….!). These are definitely high on the list!
They would love them. It’s my first time making gingerbread anything and I really like it. It’s hard to keep Mom’s paws out of them, though because she says they smell just like the ones she makes for humans.
Those sound tasty!
They are super yummy in my puppy tummy!
Those cookies look delicious!
The are real tasty and they smell great too.
What a great chef you are! Those look great!
I’m a French Scent Hound so I think there may be some Julia Childs in my genetic makeup.
OMD…we had Mama print this out for us so we can try these cookies after Arty finishes his allergy testing!!
NOM!
Smileys!
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
I hope the allergy testing goes well. Mom had bad allergies as a kid and said testing was no fun but that was a LONG time ago! You will love these and they are quick and easy.
Those look yummy and I bet they tasted yummy too!
They still do taste yummy. We haven’t eaten them all yet.
MAJOR yums!!!!! I think I would like a taste of those!!!!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
They are great for the taste buds!
Chuleta and I are definitely going to give these a try!
Chuleta will love them. My sisters and I do and so do our friends we gave some to.
I can smell them though the computer. Great job!
I bet you can. The whole house smelled real nice.
They look delicious! I love the smell of gingerbread, so I think I’ll give these a try.
Just be careful. My mom loves to taste cookie dough, and these smell so good, I had to make sure she didn’t try them by accident. I mean, they are all human ingredients, but they are not the same as the ones she makes for humans.
