As you know, I love rabbits, so imagine my excitement when I heard the new Power Bites Recipe from Merrick is made with French rabbit! Today, you will see what happens when a French Scent Hound meets French rabbit!
My good friends at Merrick know me pretty well, so they sent me a few bags of the new Real Rabbit + Sweet Potato Recipe Power Bites. I was already excited enough, but imagine how I flipped over my long ears when I saw the packaging, and it says “with rabbit from France”! These treats and I are a match made in heaven!
Do you remember good old Robin Leach, from Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, and his famous quote? Well, I’m dreaming my own quote, “champagne wishes and rabbit dreams”!
I called Bunny to come and hang out with me for a bit. I wanted to see if he knew anything about French rabbits. I figure they are about the same as USA rabbits but maybe a touch more sophisticated…sort of like me.
My patience was running thin. I needed to get the French rabbits out of the bag! They look nothing like actual rabbits, they are small stars like all the other Merrick Power Bites Recipes, but I could smell the French rabbit goodness! These little tasty morsels are only about five calories a piece, which means I can afford to sample a few of them at a time.
Enough of the looking and sniffing, it was time to taste these soft and chewy bites! I give them a definite lick of the tongue. They are made in the USA (with the French rabbit), grain and gluten free, and the first ingredients are deboned rabbit and sweet potato! I really like them, but I want to eat the entire bag and was told I’m not allowed to have an entire bag in one sitting. I don’t see why not, but Mom is the boss.
This #BestDogEver says, “Go and get your own bag!”. This is my bag and I’m going to guard it well! If your dog is a rabbit lover like me, make sure and grab a bag of Merrick Power Bites Real Rabbit + Sweet Potato Recipe. Your pup will thank you! Me, I thank Merrick for coming up with this recipe and being kind enough to send me some!

Does it make you hop around like crazy π π
Sort of, because I want more!
Oui, LA-La! We French girls do need some sophistication in our lives. Leave it to Merrick to understand our needs. Do you really eat treats in the snow? XOXO Sparkle the PBGV
I’m always nervous about giving the dogs treats that are made with game. I’m wondering, if I feed them venison can they tell that’s what the deer are? Will that make them want to chase the deer more?
We don’t have a lot of rabbits around our house, but what if they start chasing the few we do have? π
These are not your average game, we’re talking French rabbits! I don’t think it makes us any more wild about game and chasing. Unless we have actually caught and eaten an animal, we don’t associate the two. I have always chased and killed wabbits, but I never eat them, however, I love wabbit flavored treats and food.
I bet you were in doggy heaven with those little morsels of rabbit deliciousness!
Oh yes. They are super good, bummer they are not giant sized.
Ah…what could be more tasty than a French Rabbit “bon-bons”! I approve, Emma. Hang onto that bag, I know a few other inhabitants of your house that would LOVE to steal it.!
I have to share with my sisters, but I get more of the bag than then do. They are quite delicious.
Looks like the only bad part about these treats is that you can’t chase them first!
I see it as two separate activities. The chase and kill game, and then the come in to relax and munch on quality wabbit treats. I never eat what I catch.
Viva la France! Those sound delicious and I love rabbit too. β₯ I am adding these to Mom’s PetSmart list right away. I have to go get my drool towel now for obvious reasons. XXOO Bentley
Do they have them at PetSmart? In our area, they are only at PetCo or Chuck and Don’s. You will love these and I would give you some of mine if you were here.
Dang, that was a hopping good review and the yum is always much better out of the bag!
I love anything with wabbit!
Emma I bet that treat made even you hop around with glee!
I was hopping around trying to score more treats!
What a treat for the rabbit lover!
Ideal for a wabbit lover, but really for any normal dog I think.
those treats rock!
Lily & Edward
You’ve got that right!
Merrick knows you so well, don’t they, Emma? This definitely seems like a match made in heaven. The crew around here really seems to like rabbit too, and we haven’t had the Power Bites treats for a while – I’d better add them to the shopping list!
The wabbit flavor is the newest one and I love it. They are all good, though.
Tres Bien Emma!!! We like rabbit over here too ! Adding this to our chewy shopping list! Your doodle friend Dash
Rabbit is a must have for dogs I think.
Nommers!! Once we are sure Arty isn’t allergic to wabbits, we may have to try these out!!
Smileys!
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
OMD! A wabbit allergy would be the worst thing ever!
Looks tasty!
They are super yummy and for a dog who is wabbit crazy, even more tasty!
I definitely think my huskies would agree with you on this one!
α¦ husky hugz α¦ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
