Today we are revisiting the Minnehaha Bunny. I stopped by back in September 2012 to have a look and take a photo. For wabbit loving hounds like myself, it’s a must see!
Last weekend, Bailie had a “mommy and me day” and happened to stop and have her photo taken by this gigantic wabbit. She was quite amazed! He was still wearing his holiday bow. We’ve heard, people often stop by and “dress him up” for seasons and holidays.
Seeing such a large wabbit put a real smile on Bailie’s face! For a bit of history, the bunny was sculpted by Jeffrey Barber in 2002. The bunny’s official name is “Cottontail on the Trail,” but everyone knows him as simply, “The Minnehaha Bunny”.
Just a reminder, tomorrow is the last day to win cat bro Bert’s “Happy Kitty Kit” giveaway. The kit includes this scratcher I’m resting my head on, 9Lives wet food, and a cat toy. Stop by his post to enter to win!
Today, I’m joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop sponsored by BlogPaws! Don’t forget to stop by and visit some new blogs for fun!

I’m hoping he comes by for Easter.
The Daily Pip says
That’s one BIG bunny! I have a bunny sister. She’s tiny in size, but her attitude is about as big as this bunny.
I could never have a bunny in the house. I can’t see Bailie and I not attacking it. You must not have as strong of instincts!
That’s an awesome bunny!
It is a super cool piece of art on the parkway.
Will (MarkingOurTerritory.com) says
Unlike other bunnies, if that one starts moving, run AWAY from it!
Oh come on now. I could take it down. I’m a wabbit expert! I’m more interested in finding the giant wabbit poop!
There’s that pretty Bailie again! And Mom said she thinks she is smiling a little bit in this picture! That is one big bunny!!!! Lilly and I would love to see that bunny in real life!!! your doodle friend Dash.
It is a super cool wabbit. Bailie does smile sometimes, actually, it is more of a grin I think. Feeling proud.
Two French Bulldogs says
That’s got to be the real Easter bunny
Lily & Edward
I bet it looks fun at Easter time but it is probably too crazy busy to get a photo that time of year.
M. K. Clinton says
The photo of Bailie smiling gave me a “Major~Ha~Ha” instead of a Minnehaha! We could really make some jerky out of that guy!
Oh yes! Imagine all the jerky! Bailie is a pretty silly girl.
I had to do a double take at the two pictures! Here I thought Emma was darkening up! 🙂 Talk about the jackpot of wabbits! 🙂
It is the biggest wabbit I know of around these parts! Much bigger than even a jack wabbit.

Everyone needs some bunny to love!
A bunny that size gives a lot of bunny love.

Now that is a big bunny!
Probably the biggest one we will ever see.
Wow! That is on huge bunny! I would of stopped there, too! How cool is that! 😀
I know. It is so cool, but we are rarely in that part of town and then we can never find it, but we have been there three times now.
Jan K says
We didn’t see the original post, so we’re glad you revisited this one! That is really cool and Bailie seems quite impressed with it!
I think almost any hound would be impressed with a jumbo bunny! He is super cool.
Bunnies are the only little critters that excite Honey. But I wonder if she’d ever recognize that big fella as the things that arouse her so much when she visits her aunt?
You and Bailie look so very good with that humungous bunny!!

I think it is a silly grin and proud grin because of the size of the wabbit.

Scary? I rather like him, but he doesn’t move!
Pooch Smooches says
Wow, that is one big bunny! Love his holiday ribbon. That’s too funny that folks dress him (her?) up. You girls are brave to get so close to such a big bunny!
We never fear a wabbit, no matter how big!
Whitley Westie says
Wow, dat are one big bunny!
It’s my kind of wabbit!
Tenacious Little Terrier says
I hope you didn’t try to eat the bunny!
It’s a bit large to eat!
THAT is a really large wabbit! How do you hounds control yourselves around it? It reminds me of this gigantic turkey Sampson and I found at Thanksgiving. I made him pose with it but never used it. 🙂
Bailie looks a wee bit unsure in that first photo. 🙂 I wonder if she thought it might chase HER. LOL
I think she was a bit confused! It is a super cool wabbit.
Sand Spring Chesapeakes says

How adorable that people dress him up for the holidays! I love traditions like that. It gives me a reason to visit my favorite places over and over!

We don’t get over by where the wabbit is very often, but we are going to see if we can stop by closer to Easter to see what’s hopping!
Awesome pictures of you and the bunny!!
Thank you. I love seeing a huge wabbit.
Kari Neumeyer says
That. Is. Awesome.
Coolest wabbit we know of!

Way to smile, Bailie? Nice photo especially with the snow. 🙂
Bailie has a good grin going there.
Bailie, you look like you reeeally enjoyed visiting that wabbit!
She had quite the silly grin on her face.
