It’s cat bro Bert here today with the indestructible cat toy, otherwise known as the PetSafe SlimCatโข.ย I do love to chew on and eat pretty much everything, so naturally, I tried to eat this ball right off the bat. It was a “no go”.
Emma does product reviews for Chewy.com every month, but sometimes I get to review one of their cat products. I love Chewy.com! Did you know almost everything we order comes in a box! Talk about a great deal getting a free box with our orders! I also wanted to let all you kitties know Chewy.com isn’t just for dogs! They have tons of great cat products, and I even order my prescription cat food with them! Shipping is free on all orders of $49 or more, and our order usually arrives at the door (in a nice box) within a few days!
Anyway, back to this super cool toy I got to review, thank you Emma! The PetSafe SlimCat is real simple to use and play with. I got it out of the package and went right to the directions so we could get going with it.
It’s easy for your human to set up. Just unscrew the top, put in the food, using the latch on the side, you can select the bigger or smaller openings, and let it roll. The ball isn’t that big, but it holds my entire portion of food for one meal, and there would be room for more.
I was a bit suspicious of it at first. How can I get the food out of there in a hurry? You know so many cats are overweight, myself included! This is a great way for your kitty to eat, get exercise, and have a mental challenge all at the same time.
Let the ball roll. I gave it a good bat and off it went.
They say a cat should “play away the pounds”, so I got into my hunting mode. I will get you out of there you little food pieces, don’t worry!
I really enjoy this kind of toy. Even though I can’t seem to eat the ball, I have fun hunting it, and it pays me for my work with food. A real winning situation for a cat like me.
To get a real feel for how it works in action, I had our photographer do a quick Instagram video of me playing with it. If you are on Instagram, make sure you follow My GBGV Life, and Chewy.com to see more fun photos and videos!
For me, cat bro Bert, it was love at first sight. First the pawsome box for free from Chewy.com and then an indestructible cat toy that dispenses food! What a deal!

How Cool! Looks like Bert got the hang of it pretty quickly!
If it has to do with food, he gets it right away!
Looks like the purrfect toy for brother Bert! XOXO Sparkle
Finally something he can play with and not actually eat.
What a deal a nice toy AND a box – how can you go wrong. Glad to see you getting a little exercise in too Bert.
He is all about boxes, but a toy that dispenses food is even better than a box!
Bert I love your toy… I would love to hunt it together with you… do you think together we can shred it? I’m sure we can :o)
You can crunch it. Bailie tried, but Mom saved the ball.
YAY Bert!!! How wonderful that you found such a fun and indestructible toy that dispenses food too!!!
Pretty much the ideal toy for him.
That looks like so much fun. Mom never orders the right thing for us to review. We got some treats that are going to need to be cut up into smaller pieces for us to eat. Enjoy your new toy. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
It is a fun ball. Bert always tries to steal our treats no matter what their size and he eats them too!
That looks fun, Bert! We don’t have to worry about toys being indestructible for Samantha, since she won’t usually play with them more than once or twice. We’ve never tried a treat dispensing toy with her though, maybe that would interest her and get her motivated. She does always love the boxes though!
Bert really likes getting the food out of the ball. At first he was frustrated as it wasn’t fast enough for him, but then he got the hang of it and likes it.
That was fun Bert! I need to get Sister Gracie one of those, she would love it!
You should. It is fun for kitties…self rewarding exercise.
Wowzers! A cool toy AND an awesome box is a double score for you, Bert! Psst…Tell Emma that I โฅ her. Your pal, Bentley
Oh that dog sister of mine! Such a pain in the furs. At least she got me something from Chewy to review. Bentley, feel free to stop by and take her away. I don’t really need three dogs at my house.
That looks like a great way to enrich kitty bro Burt! Great review!
Finally found something that works for him!
We got one of these to review too. We see we have our work cut out for us.
You kitties will love it. A toy that is fun and gives out food, can’t beat that!
Haha! Well you know we are all Bert fans over here. That toy looks awesome! Way to go, Bert!
That cat does have a lot of fans, even besides you. What could be better than a toy that dispenses food?
We have a cat that could use a little exercise; I’m just saying, Miss Missy has gotten a bit round ๐
SlimCat might be the pawfect feeder for her. Thanks Bert. Great post!

Bert got real overweight a year or two after we adopted him. He could still stand to lose about a pound, but he is much better than he was, and this feeder is fun for him as well as a challenge.
We better tell our kitty friends
Lily & Edward
Actually, small dogs could use it too, but don’t tell them it is really for cats ๐
That looks like a fun toy. Thanks for the review Bert.
Finally something he enjoys, is a toy, and provides food. What could be better?
You sure had fun playing for your supper. Did you sing too? ๐
He was too busy eating to sing.
Great review, I wonder if it would hold up to Preacher as she loves the cats toys.
Probably not too well. Bailie got a hold of it and almost crunched it. We only have it out when Bert is using it so it stays safe.
So glad you reviewed this! I think our small doxie would love this toy! Your cat is super cute!
As long as he isn’t a cruncher it would work. Bailie picked it up and tried to crush it, but we stopped her. I think small dogs would love it, and it is great the way you can adjust the openings. The standard is small or large, but Mom figured out you can also make the large ones a bit smaller too.
I had two cats for nearly 14 years. I bought these for them in their last few years of life and they loved them. We only used the easy setting for a half day–from there out, we used the hardest setting. It slowed down how quickly they are–each eventually developed thyroid problems, which caused them to gobble their food. It also gave them an opportunity to work for food.
It definitely keeps a cat busy!
