The new Artisanal Jerky from Full Moon™ has arrived! I’m so excited to share these tasty, mouth watering, all natural jerky treats with you all!
If you are not familiar with Full Moon products, you should get to know them! Full Moon is a fourth generation family owned company that has been making and delivering food for forty years. In 2011, Full Moon Pet Treats was created using simple, honest recipes and ingredients sourced right here in the United States. Each treat starts with USDA approved, human grade meat, and is cooked in the Full Moon kitchens using only 100% all natural ingredients.
I was lucky enough to receive one bag of each flavor of Full Moon Artisanal Jerky! I love the colorful packaging, and I have to say, the flavor is just as beautiful! The new Artisanal Jerky comes in Rosemary Apple Chicken Jerky, Honey Peach Pork Jerky, and Black Cherry BBQ Beef Jerky. All three jerky flavors are perfect for dogs from puppies to seniors! Because there are no preservatives in these products, you do need to refrigerate them after opening, or we keep ours in the freezer too.
Decisions, decisions…which flavor should I test out first? It was a beautiful day out in the park for taste testing, and I couldn’t wait to get the party started!
I opted to start with the Black Cherry BBQ Beef Jerky. Mom said it wouldn’t be for me because it sounded way too fancy. I can be a picky eater, so she never knows if I will even try new treats like this.
Mom opened up the bag and dumped some of the jerky out so I could get a good whiff of it. It smelled heavenly and I was ready to give it a good taste. The Black Cherry BBQ Beef Jerky is made from choice cuts of tender, all-natural beef which are marinated in a sweet, smoky sauce featuring juice from antioxidant-rich black cherries.
How did I like it?It was amazingly awesome! Some of the pieces were large, but if you are watching your furline, or are a smaller dog, they can easily be torn into small pieces. The average calorie count is 43 /piece.
Next up, I decided to try the Rosemary Apple Chicken Jerky. It is another flavor that sounds a bit too fancy for my taste buds, but I want to try it anyway. The jerky also contains glucosamine and chondroitin to promote joint health.
I had Mom dump some out of the bag so I could get a sniff and a peak at it before I actually tasted it. Wow, it sure looks and smells good! The Rosemary Apple Chicken Jerky is made from tender, slow roasted, all-natural, cage free, USA chicken, infused with aromatic rosemary while pressed, orchard-fresh apples lend a hint of tangy sweetness.
I’m a chicken lover, and all the fanciness of this jerky only enhanced the flavor! These pieces average about 39 calories, and can also be torn into smaller pieces if so desired.
Pork Jerky is something I have never had, so I was excited to try the Honey Peach Pork Jerky!
As with the other two bags, we poured some jerky out so I could get a look and smell of it before it was tasting time. The pieces of Honey Peach Pork Jerky looked a bit smaller than the other two flavors, but I don’t see any problem with that. This jerky is made from tender slices of moist, succulent, cage free, USA raised pork which is marinated with juices from flavorful peaches and then topped off with a drizzle of golden honey.
Now for the taste test! Have you ever seen me look like a wild animal? This Honey Peach Pork Jerky brings the wild out of me for sure! Let’s say, I enjoyed making a pig out of myself with this jerky! The Pork Jerky has an average of about 42 calories per piece.
I think every dog loves jerky treats, but with all the bad stuff out of China, many pet parents have stopped purchasing jerky for their pets. The Full Moon Artisanal Jerky is a safe product, made in the USA, with USA human grade ingredients. It is super tasty, as well as healthy for your dog! My sisters have been enjoying it along with me and we all give it four paws up! Get some for your dog so they can celebrate the grilling season along with you by enjoying their own healthy treats!

How do the manufactures know that dogs even have the same taste buds as people do or taste things the way we do…..I don’t know – this just seems to be satisfying peoples needs for variety rather than dogs…I think the vast majority of dogs are just happy having plain old dried meat. I would be worried about these for Denny (who has a real sensitive stomach) that they would just make him sick
I think dogs are happy with anything edible, but the fancy stuff is something different and does please the humans. I know my mom likes us to always have a lot of variety, so as long as it is natural and healthy, we add it in to our snack list. None of us have any sensitivity or food issues, which makes it easy.
that are super big pieces… wow! I love it and give it 4 paws and one tail… that’s the perfect snack for a festival… like woodstocks or green man :o)
Perfect snack for anytime, dude! These are tasty!
Those are giant pieces and look super yummy! Thanks for the review.
Some pieces are big, but you can easily rip them up into small pieces.
Oh wow! Those look delicious! I bet the girls would like them!
They are real good! I’m sure they would love them!
We love Full Moon treats and I can smell them when Mom opens the bag. You are making me drool. Bentley ♥
Since these bags arrived, there has been a lot of drool happening around my house!
So fancy and such pretty packaging! We are impressed with all of that plus how safe and healthy they sound. Not to mention what they were with you, Emma! We are familiar with this name, but I’m not sure if we’ve ever tried any of their products (if we did, it’s been quite a while). We will definitely have to add it to our list of goodies to try!
They were at BlogPaws last year. I won’t forget because Bailie and I got busted for stealing the bacon treats off the table!
Wish we could eat jerky

Oh man, that is a bummer you can’t.
You know you had us when you said “chicken jerky” I’ve seen the product but never purchased them for the Boys.
The beef was my favorite until I tried the chicken, but then I had the pork, and in the end, I just love them all!
Mama says that Black Cherry BBQ flavor makes her mouth water!!!

It’s human grade…maybe you should buy a bag for your mom and sneak a few pieces out for yourself?
Oh my goodness, Emma. Those treats look beyond fabulous. I might even have smelled them through the computer screen. 🙂 I also saw the way my human mommy was looking over my shoulder as I read this post. I have a feeling I’d have to hide these treats from her.
They sound so human don’t they? I have ours safely stowed away in the freezer so Mom won’t find them.
Love the idea of jerky treats for my dogs. I’ll have to see if my store carries these. Do you happen to know what Artisanal means? Does that have to do with an area or cooking style? And do you know if they ship any of the meat out of the country for processing? Another US sourced/made jerky treat company had a recall last year, because they sent their chicken carcasses to China to be processed, which was a problem. And are these limited ingredient treats? If so, I love it, because of Rodrigo’s allergies. It’s nice to see so many new treats coming to market that he can enjoy.
Thanks for tolerating my paranoid questions.
The artisanal refers to the making of the food as an art/traditional fashion. Everything is USA made, raised, and grown. Full Moon started making treats because they didn’t want to give their dogs anything having to do with China. They are limited ingredient treats with 100% human grade ingredients. There are no preservatives, so we keep the open bags in the refrigerator or freezer. They are not single ingredient as there is glucosamine, chondroitin, and the other flavors such as rosemary, or honey added, but everything is safe. You can go to this link https://fullmoonpet.com/our-treats/artisanal/ and click on the bag you are interested in to get the complete list of what is in that recipe. We love them and feel they are a safe treat.
You are so lucky to get to try such yummy treats…and we love the photos!!!
Thank you. Cat bro Bert has had a few tiny pieces as well.
Any company that feels the same way I do about food from China is A-OK with me. I just worry about Shadow’s reflux and both of their sensitive tummies.
I can’t help much there since we don’t have those issues. I would think the chicken would be the most “plain Jane” of the three if you wanted to try them.
Wow! You girls get up EARLY! ?
Most days around 5am. Early dogs get the wabbit!
You had us at jerky. 🙂
Very good stuff indeed!
Those are some really big chuncks.
The beef had several large pieces, but most pieces were about half that size and can easily be made smaller.
I’ve never tasted jerky in my life but these sound tasty! I’m glad they tear easily, then the girls can try them.
You are so stinking well behaved it kills me…had I dumped a bag of jerky under Bay-Li’s nose, she’d obey me…Hay-Li, I suspect would grab a piece and run, and Car-Li would have at least 4 pieces in her mouth the second I turned around! We call her No Consequence Car-Li because she’s figured out the punishment is generally worth the crime!!
We have learned to be patient and then we get rewarded when it comes to photo shoots. It is not always easy, but we can do it.
We were lucky enough to taste test these and loved them as well. They really do seem perfect for a sophisticated girl such as yourself!
They are really good. We have them in the freezer now and they are so refreshing.
