Time for Wabbit Tracking at the 2016 Pawlympics! The humans have their own sports, so why not let us pets have our own as well? My GBGV Life has graciously volunteered to host the Wabbit Tracking event on August 15th and we hope you will seriously consider entering your dog, cat, mouse, any pet! A sport is no fun without participants! Track down the full scoop on all the Pawlympic events and be sure to enter at least a few, as there are some real fun events, of course, nothing as exciting as tracking down wabbits! Thank you to Arty, Christmas, and Lexy for hosting the Pawlympics this year!
We are fortunate to have my sister Bailie working as our tracking judge for the event. She currently holds a TD, Tracking Dog, Title which qualifies her to judge this event. She is out in the field with her clipboard, ready to get to work!
A Pawlympic event needs to be fair, so Bailie really worked hard checking the track to make sure everything was up to standard. She has run many tracks herself and can sniff out a bad track in a heartbeat!
Now that the track is down, checked, and ready to be run, the judge is just waiting for participants to arrive!
How do you enter Wabbit Tracking in the Pawlympics?
- Simply send ONE photo of your pet tracking to: MyGBGVLife@gmail.com
- Photo can be real, photoshopped, whatever you would like to submit
- If you have a blog, please include your URL in your email to me so we can link to it during the event
- Make sure and submit your photo on or before the July 15th deadline
- Come back to My GBGV Life on August 15th to see the event being run
If you need some help figuring out the sport of tracking, I have volunteered to run my track as an example.
Before starting I did some air scenting and could smell a wabbit ahead. I was ready to get moving on my track!
After running my short track in no time flat, I took my prize…a wabbit…up to the house!
Good luck to everyone at all the events, and we hope to see many of you at the super fun Wabbit Tracking event.
Woo hoo! Wabbit tracking will be awesome! Count us in!
Can’t wait to see you boys in action!
Ohhh I have some ideas for this one.
Yay! We can’t wait to see everyone and what techniques they have!
oh count me in, count me in… I love it to track a wabbit… the wabbit is hopefully not that crazy bunny from Alice in Wonderland, or is it?
Nope, and it’s not Roger Rabbit either π
BOW WOW, I can’t wait to pawticipate!
I’ve got you down π
AROOOOO! A wabbit hunt! I have many wabbits here in my wabbitat (house.) Let the games begin. XOXO, Sparkle
Oh, I love that name wabbitat. I think we live in one too.
I’m good at this!
Lily (& Edward)
Let’s see you in action!
Y’all should do really good at the Bunny Hop!
We will track them down as they hop.
This sounds like fun and might be right up Cricket’s alley!
Cricket would be a great participant!
We were just working on our Wabbit Training Last Night.
Good boys! We work on our wabbit skills daily!
oh Emma… we have to let you know a secret. My sister and I went rabbit hunting in our new backyard … and we were successful. Mom was so upset. It was early one morning and she was out in her pajamas telling us to drop it! We weren’t really sure what she was so upset about. She still kind of is upset! We’re not sure she will let us be in the competition. We’ll see if she cools off… your doodle friend Dash
My mom gave up being upset because I caught so many, and the neighbors love me because the wabbits eat everyone’s plants. Good luck!
It’s a great idea. I haven’t gotten another dog since BJ went to the Bridge.
Arty and I are in training right now and will definitely be entering this event!!
Smileys!
Dory
PeeEss..We fixed up the link on the schedule so it points to this post!
I know you guys will be great competitors!
Even though our daddy does his best to keep the wabbits out of our yard we think we should be able to participate somehow.
Millie & Walter
I bet they sneak in when you are snoozing…track down those wabbits and send over a photo!
Oh my gravy these Pawlympics sound fun!! Judging by the confident look on your face after catching the rabbit you’re going to be good at many events!!
This will be a fun event. I can’t wait to see all the entries in the different events.
You did a great job of explaining it, sounds like fun. I can’t wait to come back to watch the event!
Should be fun. Hope we get some entries!
Count on Sam to sniff around looking for something. π
Hopefully he will be looking for a wabbit π
You will make a great rabbit tracker in the pawlimpics
I can find a wabbit just about anywhere.
We don’t have wabbits … will a tree rat do? Ducky is great at tracking them!
I checked with our tracking judge and she said it is similar enough. Rabbits go in holes, squirrels go up trees, but tracking their scent on the ground is about the same.
Jaxson wants to know if he could track balls? #sillydoodle
Wabbit balls? LOL! Maybe a ball with a wabbit??? (photo shop)
Both Mini and Barbarella would like to enter this event. Is it just one picture or can we send one for Mini and one for Barbarella?
You can send one for each, lots of entrants have done that. Thanks for asking.
