Celebrate Happy Healthy Cat Month in September, a great time to show your kitties some extra love! It’s cat bro Bert here on the blog today! My mom was a big Meow Mix fan as a kid, so when this opportunity for me to work with them to promote Happy Healthy Cat Month popped up I said we had to take it! I checked with Emma and she said I could borrow her blog today for my promotion!
Recently, the cat lovers at Meow Mix ran the Purrfect Together Survey, which asked cat parents around the country about their special bond with their four-legged friends. Below you will find some of the meow-nificent results:
83% of cats take naps with their humans
This is surprising—and not because 83% of people love napping with kitty. The bigger question is: Who are the 17% of deprived humans who don’t get to experience the joy of napping with their cats? Probably those poor folks stuck with a dog!
80% of cat parents believe they can interpret their kitty’s meows
While humans and cats may purr in different languages, that doesn’t stop most cat mommies and daddies from understanding what their kitty wants—whether it be some treats, cat nip, or just a snuggle partner. I don’t think my mom gets my meows about getting rid of the dogs because they are still here!
72% of cat parents love to surprise their kitties with treats
Speaking of treats, nothing makes a cat happier than some spontaneous, unexpected goodies from the person who cares for them the most. I don’t mind helping myself to the dog’s treats too.
55% of cats love chicken-flavored nibbles
I’m not picky. Chicken is great, but any flavor works for me! The part about nibbles is a bit disturbing as I prefer the entire chicken if I can get it! Why waste time with just a nibble?
Breaking news:
Meow Mix has just released a brand new culinary-inspired food made with real chicken or salmon, Bistro Recipes—a classy meal for a classy kitty! Head over Meow Mix’s new Purrfect Together web portal right meow, and you can download a coupon for $2.50 off any bag of Meow Mix Bistro Recipes.
Create your own Meowsterpiece
And that’s not all! You need a classy painting to go with that classy meal. On the Purrfect Together portal, you can enjoy the unique experience of converting a photo of you and your cat into a Meowsterpiece—a digital “oil” painting that helps express and immortalize your cat-love on canvas. I did it, and you should too!
Don’t forget to show me how special your human-cat bond is! Post your Meowsterpiece on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram with the hashtag #PurrfectTogether. Leave me a comment below to tell me about that special kitty in your life! Let’s try to rock this dog blog with some feline domination in the comments! I’ll be posting my Meowsterpiece all over Emma’s social media. Cats rule, dogs drool!
I wish all you kitties and cat parents out there a fantastic Happy Healthy Cat Month in September!
My GBGV Life received a Bistro Bundle in exchange for promoting Meow Mix and Happy Healthy Cat Month. My GBGV Life receives no additional benefits for barking about Meow Mix products or the company. Our kitties definitely fall into all of these categories – they nap with us, like chicken treats, and yes, we can definitely interpret their different meows.
Sophie is pretty easy to read and likes to nap with mom. Bert is more of a hang out with the dogs type of cat.
Happy healthy cat month, Bert. We have a cat that has been trying to make itself at home in our treehouse. We have repeatedly explained to it that our backyard cannot accommodate a cat. Cats can be stubborn BOL! BOL!
Cats are out to take over the world! A dog needs to lay out the rules and be strict.
Bert that sounds delicious… I bet that food (ooooh salmon!!!) has magic powers too… please keep me informed if you can fly or if your tail becomes a magic wand :o)
I hope he doesn’t get any magic powers. He is enough trouble as it is.
Uh-oh! Watch out Emma – cat bro Bert is out to hijack your blog! I always thought the name “Meow Mix” was cute for kitty food; but we didn’t have any kitties in the family. Mom was a “dog person”, Dad favored dogs over cats, and that’s the way my brother and I were raised. But being the sucker I am for baby animals, I love them all (especially puppies!).
Mom was that crazy cat lady the first thirty years or so of her life. She had four for many years! Thankfully, she discovered dogs and cats are on the way out, or at least, they are not the dominating pets anymore!
That looks like yummy food. nestle would pick the salmon. 🙂
I think my kitties would eat either flavor, but salmon might be the favorite.
MEE-ow. The mom made me type that as I am not sure what a cat is. Oh, wait! I think I saw one that owns my doc’s waiting room, and it batted me in the nose. XOXO Sparkle
Careful of cats! Bert likes to beat me up in the face when I try to get him to move out of my way. They are crazy animals!
You are just too cute, Bert. Emma should let you take over more often 🙂
He does seem to get his own post every month or two, and he often appears a few times a month in my other posts, but it is a dog blog. I can’t let cats rule my business, and believe me…he would if he could!
Bert BABEEEEE you are rockin’ Emma’s blog today. We eat only chikhen here and it’s yummy rawwrrr!! We can’t try that new meow mix but we bet it’s pretty good. Love all your photos Bert
Thanks for the cat support kitties! It’s not easy living in a house with dominating dogs!
Sounds like doggy parents

Bert is such a photogenic cat and I love the masterpiece! Samantha says she prefers salmon over chicken, but if Bert says the chicken is good she would try that too.
I think you’ve got a pretty talented spokes-cat on your team there, Emma!
As you know, Bert will eat anything. He is not the least bit picky, but I think he would enjoy salmon too.
September is my kinda month….all about fabulous felines
Hugs madi your kitty friend
I don’t know if we dogs will do anything for the cats, or not. Maybe let Bert sleep in our dog beds a little bit more than usual. He loves our beds, but we aren’t allowed in his beds.
Super cute post. Love the meowsterpiece. That is really cool. I don’t know many cat people – so Bert is one of my favorites!
Mom is now a dog people, but she happens to still have a couple cats we have to live with. Sometimes cats can be fun.
Hey, Bert! We’re glad you’re getting some much needed attention!
No need to worry about Bert getting attention. If he isn’t getting enough, he simply causes trouble to get some attention.
Bravo Bert, not only was that a terrific post, it was a fun one too!!!
That is one of Bert’s biggest problems, he is always having fun which often leads him to trouble. He did a good job on this post, though.
Way to go Bert! Now all we have to do is talk MAma into getting US a Kitty Bro!!
Smileys!
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
Be careful what you wish for. Not sure about if cats are good for dogs or not. They are a paw full!
LOL, Bert you are too funny! My mom knows Callie’s different meows. Before reading this I just though she was weird, but I guess many mom’s are weird!!! 🙂
Mom knows the meows like she knows our barks, howls, and growls. It’s what moms do.
No kitty here but Sam thinks your “Meowsterpiece” is pawsome!
Well, in my canine opinion, cats are overrated. I have enough cat with Bert for several families.
This is a great post for Meowmix and you have a kitty star on your paws here guys!! We love the portrait app – its terrific!

Bert says thank you. He can’t answer comments because he is napping again! He does pretty well for a cat!
Awesome post. I’m not really a cat person, but Bert tops it all!
He is our crazy cat bro! Everyone loves him, but he can be a real pain in the furs to live with. He gets into all kinds of trouble.
Hi Bert happy cat month!
Happy healthy cat month.
Cat will definitely love these categories.
Cats definitely will.
Thank you for sharing your post I find the facts very fun and interesting. It’s nice to see how much love the cats are receiving from their owners and this warms my heart.
