My 10th birthday party was yesterday, on the day I turned ten. It was a fairly low key party, but I had a nice time. The day was filled with lots of love and good food. What more could a hound ask for? Well, actually, I asked for a spot in the NW3 nose work trial next month, and when I woke up and checked my email, I found out I got one! Mom also made a big batch of dehydrated liver for our rewards this week – yum!
We started the day with a two hour walk at one of my favorite spots to walk. The weather was perfect at 6 am when we headed out – in the 50’s. Nothing better than a nice bit of exercise to start off the day! When we returned home, I was starving and thankful it was time for breakfast!
I like to eat a lot of different things but by far the best thing at breakfast time is my mom’s pancakes! She makes buttermilk pancakes from scratch, and uses bacon fat in the recipe. Talk about tasty! Because I turned ten, she made me ten mini pancakes and put them in my bowl with the kibble. Yum!
Pancakes with kibble is quite a delicious breakfast for a pup! A girl only turns ten once, so bring on the pancakes, Mom! I wanted more, and was not happy she gave some to cat bro Bert and Bailie too! Unfortunately, she said ten was plenty for me.
Bailie insisted on making my birthday cake. I was a bit nervous about how that would turn out, but on the other paw, the bakery is open on Sundays in case of a disaster!
Chef Bailie learned everything she knows about baking from me, including tasting the recipe before baking. I guess we will have Bailie germs in the cake! It is kind of like cooties, but we will survive!

Mom decided to put on a party hat and take a selfie with me in the afternoon. We are not real good at double selfies. This was the best we could do.
Bailie and I went outside to have our cake. Of course, Bailie could not mind her manners and dove into her cake despite Mom telling her to wait! I decided to follow suit before she came over to steal my cake! I’m a big fan of pumpkin, so Bailie did make the right cakes for me!
We tried to pose, but Mom says the two of us were simply not in sync. What do you think of Bailie’s hat? She insisted on wearing that tiny one. I guess it is supposed to be like a clown party hat or something. Teenagers!
It was a fun but busy day. With all the food and exercise, a ten year old girl get tired. I decided to retire to my kennel for some well deserved nap time. My kennel is my favorite place to snooze during the day. Turning 10 turned out great. Iit was a pretty quiet celebration, but very nice! Now I’m paw padding my way towards eleven!

Sounds like a pretty perfect birthday. A long walk with Mom, followed by a delicious breakfast. Your sister made you delicious birthday cakes. A box of treats,and quiet birthday party of just you, Mom, and Bailey. That is our favorite party and time with Mom.
