Jimmy’s squirrel position is with his head pointed up the tree!
I do that if I am next to the tree they go into.
I actually got to chase one yesterday – the first time we have ever seen one in our neighborhood
I do chase them frequently, but sometimes I just sit back and observe.
You look so regal.
I think it is being born in England – that queen feeling.
I am not quite sure I know what a squirrel is. The mom says we have them, but she has never seen me see one. XOXO, Sparkle
What! You must be joking! In Florida they always ran over the roof of our pool cage and made us really crazy. Squirrels are all over!
Perfect. Just peek out the corner of your eyes
Lily & Edward
I pretend I don’t care and then lure them in for the catch. Unfortunately, my plan has yet to work.
Adorable. Thanks for the picture
Thank you.
Loving that”focus!!”
That is my most serious focus!
Great form, Emma!
Smileys!
Dory
Thank you. I always stiffen up with a lot of excitement like squirrels create.
You get an A+ for squirrel form. Those pesky tree rats are always wreaking havoc in our yard!
I vow to one day catch one of those squirrels.
At least you stay in one spot and concentrate on the hunt – the doxies go into mad barking and lunatic behavior – the poor squirrels in our yard π
I like to go wild and chase, howl, be crazy too, but sometimes it is good to sit peacefully and lull those tree rats into a false sense of security!
Squirrels are very serious business, and we know you take your jobs seriously, Emma!
I can be funny, but I am usually pretty serious.
Wow, impressive. Rita’s squirrel position is … a little more crazy.
Sometimes I go crazy too, but the quiet with patience thing can work.
LOL brown dawgs would never sit so still for a squirrel.
We are funny hunters. Half the time we are crazy and in the heat of the chase, the other half we are cat like, sitting in wait and then pounce on the subject.
That’s some incredible self control! I’m impressed!!
I’m told we are often cat like when we hunt. It’s either full power chase, or patiently in wait.
Did it work – did you catch him?
No. Sadly, I was put back on a shorter leash where I had no chance. The squirrels were quite tame, though.
This is what we are constantly telling Pierre. He cannot be quiet and although he is faster than a speeding bullet, the squirrels hear his insane barking while he is still inside! He doesn’t do stealth. BOL! BOL!
I try both approaches. So far, the crazed dog approach has come closest to capturing one, but I’m still trying to get my first catch.
yep, Cole did that. Perfectly still, then bolt!
Emma, you perfectly illustrate focus!
Oh Taffy does it way better! She makes mom so mad every time she sees a squirrel she just freezes right on the spot. She might lift up one paw a bit and start stalking very slowly, but mom can’t get her to snap out of it. Love Dolly
I do that too, but I snap out of it. Too many squirrels not to keep moving on. She just says let’s find more and I’m on my way.
Oh Emma, please teach this trick to Ms. Elsa who thinks the squirrel pose is ripping out my shoulder at the socket. π
Bailie does that kind of thing. I also used to pull a lot for squirrels, but I learned there are so many, there really is no need to rush.
striking pose!
