Please welcome our new little sister, Ethos Intel Inside, aka Madison. I know a lot of people were hoping for a Kuvasz, but after losing Katie, my mom couldn’t bear to get another Kuvasz. No Kuvasz could ever live up to Katie, but a GBGV, we have plenty of room for one of this breed!
I think everyone loves puppies! Mom was planning to get a new puppy next summer, but before she could email Bailie’s breeder about that wish, it came out on Facebook that a litter was to be born in August this year. It felt like destiny for us, so we asked to be put on the puppy list and if it was meant to be, we would have a new little sister. The photo above is our first family photo. Madison doesn’t believe in sitting still unless she is sleeping, so it is the best we could do with Mom working alone.
Madison was born on August 10 in a litter of ten – six boys, four girls. Her breeder is the same as Bailie’s, but different parents. We are sure there is something in the water there in Missouri since the litters are so large! This was a technology theme litter, thus the name Ethos Intel Inside. Madison was actually an Intel codename. In 2003, Intel released a new Itanium 2 processor and codenamed it Madison. She has siblings with fun names like, Chip, Jenna, Bing, Url, Envy, Java, Cache, Chrome, etc.
Mom and Bailie drove down to Missouri last Thursday to pick up Madison and to meet her other siblings and parents. Since Madison obviously rode back with them, she already has three state under her furs! She was the first to leave home, so they got to meet all the siblings. On Thursday, she was nine weeks and one day old. Madison is the puppy in the photo with the stuffie in her mouth.
The puppies were pretty crazy I hear! I stayed home as I really wasn’t interested in being mobbed by puppies and someone had to keep an eye on the cats! Madison is the one on the back on the right in the above photo.
Madison’s parents are Debucher Greffier, who goes by Greffier, and Wilmit Fantisie, who goes by Isabeau. Her dad Greffier comes from my breeder in the UK. Greffier is a year younger than me and also took the Mayflower to America. Well, actually, he flew directly to the US, I made a stop in Germany for many months. Before they left for Minnesota, Madison wanted to grab a last shot with her parents. Can you tell…she is already working on the modeling thing!
Isabeau is a real pretty mommy dog, and I think Madison looks a lot like her mom. There is a good chance she will keep her dark colors and not fade out like Bailie and I did. Madison will also be more the breed standard size like I am.
This was a shot of Madison with her blue bunny, her first morning at our house. We let her take it easy the first day or two, but now it is time for her to get to work. She has been assigned the job of being our CTD (Chief Technology Dog) as well as a toy testing specialist. Her first toy has already arrived for her to review.
The first day with us also meant a trip to the vet to get chipped and for a full check up. Madison is super healthy, and weighs in at a tiny 8.2 lbs. When it comes to eating, she is just like me at that age…slow, and not a lot of interest in food.
Right now we are all still in the process of getting settled, establishing a new routine, and getting to know each other better. We know Madison is going to be a super fun sister, and she will be joining us in our sports of tracking and nose work as well. Yesterday I started training her in on the perimeter patrol job. She seems to pick things up quickly. I am hopeful she will be able to take over some of the patrol work real soon.
Madison will be starting her Puppy Einstein class tomorrow night. Be prepared for lots of puppy photos on our social media channels, but also some here on my blog when Madison fits into my posts or if she is doing her own. In the meantime, she needs to get her rest so she can grow up to be a real nice GBGV like Bailie and me. I think she already might have squirrel brain.
PS: I post a lot of photos and videos on Instagram, so if you can’t get enough of little Madison, stop by my Instagram for lots of Madison!
Welcome Madison to the world of social media! You are cute (for a woofie, that is).
She is having fun doing some blog photos, but she is really having a blast posting on Instagram. We love her.
Sorry I am so late to welcome Madison. My computer and email were down for a while and we couldn’t figure out why. Welcome Madison, I’m sure you will fit in your new home perfectly:)
She is a perfect fit so far. A wonderful little puppy!
Oh my goodness, Emma, we are beyond excited about Madison’s arrival. (Mommy’s been a little busy with silly human stuff, so we’re a bit behind in sending our congratulations.) She’s super adorable, and we love her name. (The names of her siblings are pretty cute, too.) You’re going to have your paws full with two little sisters; but if anyone can handle it, you can. Bailie and Madison are both super lucky to have such an excellent big sister. π
Unfortunately, Bailie who is 3 yrs old, is now behaving at the 3 month level. Bailie and Madison are absolutely wild children, but they have fun. I am the one who growls and lets them know who is the boss. Overall, Madison is pretty nice for a puppy.
Congrats on the new edition.
Thank you. She is pretty fun.
Welcome to Madison! Such a cutie!!
Thank you. Cat bro Bert has been working on training her using head swats. It is pretty amusing.
She is gorgeous!
Thank you. We think she is perfect.
