The amazing purple witch, Bailie, has volunteered to learn the trick this year. It is high time Bailie steps up and learns to ring the doorbell when she wants to come inside. I’ve been ringing it for years, but Bailie has never learned how. Last year I learned how to hold a spoon in my mouth which was a tough one!
At my house we use the PebbleSmart Doggie Doorbell. It is made for dogs and is pretty easy to train. It has a removable treat tray behind the hole in the center. By placing a treat in the try, the dog’s nose automatically pushes the yellow bell ringer trying to get the treat.
First Mom added a tasty treat to the tray while Bailie was watching. ***Note, remove costume prior to learning to reduce distractions.
Bailie is then told to “ring”. Her nose smells the treat and heads for the bell.
When the nose contacts the ringer and the bell sounds. It only takes a slight touch on the bottom half of the yellow circle to make the bell ring. Mom says “ring” come inside to us as we learn to ring the bell when we are ready to come back into the house. We’ve had this bell for three years, and it is still going strong! Despite those -20 winter days and 90+ summer it still rings, and we have only needed to change the battery twice!
I’m the official bell ringer at our house, which is why I demonstrate it first, and then Bailie will show off her newly learned skill. The bell is awesome and is actually louder than our doorbell on the front door!

Trick or Treat Giveaway Hop – My GBGV Life
My dog doesn’t know this trick. I have a 4 year old Boxer, & she’s really hyper and gets excited easily.. so sometimes she has difficulty trying to pay attention long enough to learn tricks lol.
Wow, that’s a great trick; my little pup doesn’t know that one but I’d love to teach him!
Mine doesn’t know this and we don’t have a doorbell. I did consider having her ring a bell when she has to go potty, but I thought that might get out of hand and annoying pretty quickly, so nixed that idea.
My dogs ring to go out, I was thinking there should be a bell to come in – I’ve got to try this!
You can use this bell for indoors or outdoors, and set a different ring, so it would work both ways.
We don’t have a fenced yard so my dog doesn’t have the need for a doorbell to come inside. Maybe if I sell this place & move at some point.
If there is no need for a bell, then there is no need to teach a dog to ring!

No dog. I’d love to win the gc and any treats, etc would go to the local shelter. If my cat were longer he would be able to open the door with the handle! I love the doorbell gadget!
My dogs don’t know this trick, but I’d love to get a bell by our back door and teach them this trick. My dogs will often just wait outside the back door when they are ready to come in – no barking or jumping. Just wait, and when it’s really cold or hot or rainy, I would love to be able to let them in as soon as they are ready. If I had a bell by the door and they learned this, they wouldn’t have to wait.
That is exactly why we love the doorbell. We would sit out there in front of the door forever and just wait. Now we simply ring and Mom comes running.
My dogs don’t know this trick, but I am sure my Great Dane would learn this one quickly!
This would be a gift for my friends dogs to share. They know many tricks!

My dogs only know to sit and they do that when they want to lol. I think it is cool the way they taught them
Yes, Kyla Ann knows this and we trained the same way.
Yes, Kyla knows many tricks and it has taken awhile but she is doing them well. We also use hand signals.
He doesn’t know that but he can shake and sit , when told. Plus he stands up to hug you.
Bo cannot ring door bell but he is smart and sweet.

That doggie doorbell is so cool! My little girl however is so skittish she won’t event go u or down a flight of stairs. She’s a two year old Shetland Sheepdog.
