All of us have built a snow fort with Mom, except for Madison. Christmas Eve Day, the snow was just right and Mom helped Madison build her first snow fort. Madison had a blast and the little fort came out pretty good!
She has never been digging before but now knows it is a lot of fun.
Madison worked like a dog to get the interior space just right!
Finally, the project was finished and Madison had her first snow fort! Three years ago, Madison and I made a twinhome, but Mom did most of the work for us!
Have a look at the little one in action in this short video.
Today, Iβm joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop sponsored by BlogPaws! Donβt forget to stop by and visit some new blogs for fun!
wow you have the paw for fabulous diy projects…. I would love to join you in your snow castle :o)
Snow forts are a lot of fun. Sadly, this one has been demolished. We need another load of snow so we can make a new one.
I used to LOVE snow forts! So cute!
My mom used to build them as a kid all the time she says. She loves to help us make them. They are fun.
We don’t have enough snow to build a snow fort but our mom built one one year for herself and when she went into it the next day there a a big growling dog in it! She backed out fast! I bet I could out dig Chablis if we had snow, because I am a digger and he is not. I am happy to see that girls ( aside from my mom) can dig forts!

Anyone can dig them, and they are super fun. All you need is a nice pile of snow, hands, or paws and get digging!
Gee whiz! I missed out on that fun before I left Minnesnowta for Florida. I am not much of a digger, and the mom says that is a good thing. XOXO, Sparkle
None of us dig up the yard really, but digging in the snow is fun. Sometimes we find buried toys under the snow too.
Wow that’s awesome!
Lily & Edward
It’s lots of fun!
She’s a pro! But she has good teachers too.
She did a real good job for her first try.
Great work, M. Your fort is awesome. You never know what will happen when you dig in the snow. Once I found some raggedy old potato chips under the snow. Jackpot!
Love and licks,
Cupcake
We often find toys buried under the snow.
Wow! That is really impressive, Madison. βΊ I loved your duplex snow fort too, but can’t imagine having that much snow.
For us it wasn’t even that much snow, but enough in a pile to make a fort.
Great job sweet Madisonya done good!
Thank you!
That is a awesome snow fort, hopefully you will get to make some more before the winter is over.
We have put in for a load of new snow, but so far, nothing has arrived.
Oh my goodness! It’s like a little igloo!
She may become an Eskimo dog!
I WISH we had enough snow for forts! I suppose we try to achieve the same thing with sand forts on the breach. Madison is getting so big!
Madison is already 20 lbs! You can’t do the same thing with sand as it wouldn’t hold together, sadly. You need to take a snow vacation somewhere!
I bet I’d make a good one, but I need some snow!
Snow is the first thing a dog needs!
Great job, Madison! That looks like a lot of fun, we’ve never done that before. I think Luke would love it!
My mom loves building snow forts, so we do at least one almost every year.
Look at that lil Madison go. – I’m impressed.
Once she gets on a project she is 100% committed!
What fun! We never get enough snow out here for fort building. But if we ever do, we’ll be calling on you for blueprints!
Jean from Welcome to the Menagerie
It’s always fun building a fort, but we do also enjoy destroying them not long after they are built!
That photo of you sticking your little face out is adorable! Your snow fort looks amazing. I wish Max had snow, then maybe he’d quit digging in the sand.
Digging in sand is fun, but doesn’t really accomplish much. At least digging in the snow you can build something.
Brando and Humphrey would love all that snow. We live in the Desert Southwest so they never see much snow π
We are glad Mom is a winter lover so we can live here with the four seasons. Snow is so much fun! Maybe you guys need a road trip to the mountains for some snow?
Good job Madison, that is a very cool snow fort!!
Smileys!
Dory, Jake, Art & Bilbo
I think next time we will make a tunnel to run through. We just need the next load of snow!
How fun!
We love snow as it is always a lot of fun!
We don’t get enough snow here to even build a snow man, never mind a fort. Looks like Madison had a blast!
She thought it was pretty fun once Mom showed her what to do. Later she and Bailie smashed it, but I guess that is what kids do too!
That’s what my brother and I used to do when we were kids back on Long Island.
That is a fine snow cave!
It was until they demolished it!
