Little Madison’s furs are growing out of control! Not only are her furs growing, her nails are too. Right now she is so wiggly, Mom can’t clip them herself, so she took her to our groomer to have them done last month. Madison seemed to feel right at home in the waiting room at the spa!
Look at how long her facial furs and eyebrows are getting!
Her beard is coming in quite nicely too.
She is getting the red/tan ring around her little hound nose like I have.
Mom was shocked to see the fur on the bottom of Madison’s paws! Time for a trim already! She is growing like a weed all over the place I guess!
For those that haven’t heard, our adventures will be a bit curtailed the next two months. Mom fell on a patch of ice while running on Monday morning and broke her Fibula. She will be in a boot for the next 6-8 weeks. We are in the process of adjusting which is hard since we are always so active and now we are all stuck. It will pass, and we will make the best of it somehow. Bailie feels especially bad as she was there when it happened but couldn’t do anything about it. She did provide huggles to Mom at the scene, as she sat on the ground crying, knowing she had really injured herself, and she helped her hobble home.
Today, Iβm joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop sponsored by BlogPaws! Donβt forget to stop by and visit some new blogs for fun!
The mama said we have to nail my nails too… and we go to the groomer next week :o) Hugs to your mom that is so horrible that she broke her fibula… that darned ice stuff…we send potp and we hope it heals without problems…
It’s really hard for us not going for walks and stuff. Things are all in a mess right now until we figure out a new system.
Madison is growing up too fast. You will need another puppy soon.
Thankfully, unless you register as a kennel or breeder, there is a 3 dog limit in our city π
Your poor mommy! I know you will all take good care of her. Was it her right leg or left leg? That can make big difference in her ability to drive. Little Madison sure is a beauty. XOXO, Sparkle
If you are going to do it, you have to do it right, so of course, it’s her right leg.
Oh no! You kids are definitely not cut out for rest and relaxation and healing-time. Good luck with this. Of course all of you will be the best medicine, but even a million doggie kisses can’t rush healing. When Mom had knee surgery, we had to walk slowly with a cane. It was tough, but I hung in there and walked as slowly as her for weeks! Settle in for a nice break, girls. Mom will be up and at ’em as soon as she can. Behave!
Love and licks,
Cupcake
I think we are easier to keep down than Mom is. She can’t sit still. We will keep going to our classes, and slowly start to take very short slow walks…loose leash walking practice will be number one.
Oh no! Gentle nose nudges to your mom. May her healing be swift.
Ballie, huggles are most important.
Madison you are adorablewith or without long hair.
Nose nudges,
CEO Olivia
Thank you. Mom is hard to deal with when she doesn’t get her exercise in, so we are trying to do our best to calm her.
I hope your Mom is feeling better soon. That stinks. ?
It really stinks for all of us, but we have to deal with it.
I saw your Facebook post about the fall, I’m so sorry to hear that! I know how it feels, I had to be in the boot a couple of years ago followed by weeks of physical therapy. Be patient, there’s an end in sight. Madison is really growing up & her fur is starting to change! I can see how comfy she was at the spa, let’s hope she continues to like it there. I have a feeling she’ll be spending lots of time there in the next few years. Love these photos of her.
Love & Biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them
Thank you. It is hard to go from all being active all the time to an almost complete stop. We will continue our classes, but walking is pretty much out for the foreseeable future. 2 months seems like the world right now, but we know it will pass and we will survive.
Madison is getting soooo big!
She is really starting to look like a hound.
You sure are adorable. If we were closer we would give you a huge hug
Lily & Edward
Awww…we are a big hugging family, that would be nice!
Oh No…broken bones are never fun. Good thing you guys have a big yard. Heal fast!! And madison has feet like Torrey, all furry like that.
The problem we have is we always walk and do our business, then play in the yard. We won’t poop in the yard, but Mom is trying to make us now and we don’t want to so we are holding it all in. I guess we will all have to change.
We call those Grinch paws and love them! Hope your mom heals quickly! That darn ice!
I have Grinch paws too. Fur everywhere! We hope Mom heals fast too. This is really cramping our style.
OMD I DIDN’T KNOW!! You poor thing!! I feel awful for you!!!! I cannot believe you had to walk home like that. Praying you are on the mend soon, you ARE super active so this is going to be quite an adjustment, but you are tough and I know you will make the best of it!! Sending healing wishes for a speedy recovery!!!! xoxo
Thank you. We are all baffled here without being able to walk, run, and do the things we usually do with Mom. We will have our classes and we can play in the yard, but we sure will be happy when the ankle is healed!
The boys both get their nails cut at the vet’s office. I am so sorry that you injured yourself. There is no more helpless feeling than knowing you are falling and can’t stop. It will slow you down but I hope that you aren’t in pain. β₯
Actually, it was a good fall as it happened so fast Mom had no time to think and she was already on the ground. Bailie rushed in for huggles and then the adventure began. It will be tough for us all, but we will succeed.
You are adorable sweet Madison! Healing purrs to you Mom from all of us, ouch!
Madison likes to chew on Mom’s boot which isn’t good. I think it signals something bad to her.
That’s a lot of fur but you look adorable, Madison!
Healing purrs and vibes to your mom π
Purrs xx
Athena and Marie
Thank you. We hope the bone heals as planned and we can get back to our usual programming.
Madison I love your out of control furs, but a good grooming is always necessary. I don’t like bunny slippers and want to cut all of the dogs paws when they come into the clinic. So sorry about your fall and broken bone. I hope you heal up fast.
Mom doesn’t like the fur paw pads either, so those furs are trimmed, but she took a photo first. They seemed to have appeared almost overnight.
Best wishes for a FAST recovery.
Thank you.
We are sending lots of POTP to your mom. That will be a tough one to deal with while taking care of all of you. We hope she can get some help so she heals quickly.
Millie & Walter
We are trying to be good, but it is a huge adjustment for us all.
I love seeing Madison maturing into a beautiful young lady! Oh, Joy, I hope you heal fast!!!
She is our little beauty! The broken ankle really stinks, but somehow we will all survive!
We can’t believe how fast Madison is growing either! You girls take good care of your Mom; we hope she will heal quickly.
We are working on tying her to the chair so she doesn’t move. I think keeping her down is harder than our desire to do more!
POTP for fast healing and you pups better stop holding it in! You don’t want to get sick!!
When we learn the rules, we stick to them, but Mom says the rules just changed. We will adjust. Nature will call and we will eventually have to answer.
Madison’s eyebrows are so sweet – they remind me of a wire haired doxie I know. I’m really sorry about your leg – can you get around ok in the walking cast?
Getting sooo big Madison! I hope you had a nice spa day π
Pawrayers your Mama feels better real soon!
xoxo,
Matt & Matilda
It’s pretty rough around our house right now, but we will all get through this.
O M D we are SOOOOO sorry to hear that your mom Slipped on the Ice and got Broken. THAT is Another Reason fur us to hate Snow and Ice stuffs… it is DANGEROUS.
OMD we Love your Speckled Paw Pads…
We still love the snow and so does Mom, but she is so sad she can’t be out playing and walking in it with us. It’s a terrible mess for us right now. At least Madison’s cuteness cheers us all up.
We just had to get our furs groomed today too, Madison..we are sending soothing and fast healing thoughts to your Mama!
Smileys!
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
Madison has some real wild furs, but they look cute on her right now.
Oh, that crazy facial hair is adorable! Will it just keep growing and growing if you don’t trim it?
Poor mom!!! I feel for you having had my elbow mishap recently. This sounds so much worse!! You had to hobble home!?? Oh my gosh. I’d have sat on the ground and cried too!
Another reason to run with a dog is that when you are injured, you are not alone. Madison will need to get some of her furs thinned out and possibly trimmed, but her main coat just gets stripped.
Your poor Mom π Purring that she recovers very quickly. She has adorable little nurses to take care of her!
She is pretty down right now. To go from super active to nothing is killing her more than us. At least we can still run around and play in the yard.
WOw! That is too bad about your mom!!! Maybe you can think of some indoor games to play, or worry a rawhide to death each day. Tell your mom that our mom has been there too, and she has pins in her leg now. As for me and Chablis, we are staying in the yard and digging for moles and chipmunks since it has warmed up. Mom was horrified when she saw the yard today. Looks like a war zone. It will have to be re-leveled and reseeded. Mom is thinking about Astroturf. Elbe.
It is harder for Mom than for us I think. We all miss walking terribly already, but we can still run around and play, Mom can’t do much. It will be a long two months, but we will get through it. We are not diggers, so we won’t have that problem in our yard. I guess you boys have really been busy.
Oh my goodness, your poor mom! I hope she recovers quickly, easily and painlessly. My assistant fell and broke her finger a few years ago. Ugh.
I love Madison’s pink and black paws!
Mom also sprained a finger in the fall, but that is so minimal, she doesn’t even care. It is a huge bummer for our family but we will all deal with it because we have to.
Oh no for Mommy! I am so sorry. I’m glad you were there to help her home. Everything is a little easier with a dog. Prayers for a speedy recovery. And Madison, I love your crazy eyebrows. I look at them every week and it makes me smile. You are growing like a weed though. It’s not fair how fast you puppies grow.
Mom wishes she would stay a tiny puppy longer too, but she won’t. She is our little cutie. Hopefully Mom’s ankle will heal on time and we can get back to our normal lives again. This resting stuff is sooo boring.
Sending POTP from here, too, for Mom’s fibula! Bless her heart! Hugs from me and puppy kisses from Shadow and Ducky to all of you.
I think we are all still in a state of shock here not knowing quite how to handle our newfound situation.
I don’t miss ice. That’s why I moved to Florida. (P.S. You can remind me of this when I start complaining about he hot, humid summers.) Best of luck on your healing.
I don’t like summertime at all, winter is my season, but sadly, things finally caught up to me and now I have to pay ;(
Dude, you and I are sharing a life. I also slipped on some ice three weeks back, and I also broke my fibula. Sadly, I broke my tibia, too. I just upgraded to the boot, but have another week of no weight-bearing. It’s a long recovery! It helps to know that I’m not going through it alone.
Jean from Welcome to the Menagerie
OMD! I’m sorry! As bad as it is, we feel fortunate it is not a lot worse. Had to laugh at upgraded to a boot as the boot doesn’t feel much like an upgrade to Mom, but she is lucky. Dang ice! Hope both your bones heal correctly and quickly.
We are so sorry that Mom had a fall on the terrible ice this year. It is so hard to slow down and wait for it to heal, especially when you are use to running several times a day. It’s also hard on the dogs that are use to running or long walks too. When John was hurt Aspen was use to evening walks and woods walks. He didn’t understand why they stopped and was constantly letting Dad know it was time to go. Hope your Mom’s leg heals quickly and very strong so you can all get back to normal. Sending prayers your way:(
At this point, she says forget the running, she just wants to go for some walks. Hopefully it will heal correctly and quickly so we can get back on the road. We too keep sitting at the door for a walk, but it isn’t happening.
Oh no. So sorry to hear about your mum’s injury. Having broken my leg once too, I’m wishing her a speedy recovery. Ice will be her best friend, and not the kind she slipped on. π
It is a major blow to our family and activities! She has it in a boot 24/7, so no ice, but hopefully it will heal right and quickly.
Our furs are always out of control around here! LOL
Mom is always frustrated as she brushes us and a minute later we are back to being shaggy!
