Madison finished her ten week puppy agility class the same night Bailie finished her first agility class. She had an absolute blast learning to do all the miniature equipment, and she learned a lot about balancing, and where her back end and paws are at. You can see her excitement here on the jump. Because it isn’t safe for puppies to really jump, the jump bar is always on the floor.
Tunnels are one of Madison’s favorite obstacles, just like Bailie. Being a puppy, Madison didn’t have a lot of fear of the different things like the teeter or A-frame.
To end the class, the puppies got to run their first course. Once again, Mom couldn’t run with her boot on, so things were slow which made it hard for Madison to actually concentrate, but she did pretty good. We are looking forward to seeing how much better she does when Mom can add some speed to the course!
Next up, Madison and Bailie will be in the same class for a while. Bailie will also take part in another class some days to work on bigger equipment. Madison will be learning the equipment Bailie had in her first class. It should be a lot of fun for both of them. Bye, bye, puppy time!

That happened a lot in the six weeks as the boot had super grippers on the bottom. At first it hurt a lot but as the ankle healed it was less painful.

The boot came off the next day and has been off for 10 days now. Still lots of healing to do and she won’t be “normal” for a while, but it is much better.
Glad the ankle is much better! I’m sure just not having to wear the boot any more makes Mom feel better.

Great job, Madison! You answered the first question I thought of, which was if she was less timid than Bailie had been since starting younger. It’s great that she’s starting everything so young. Hope your Mom’s ankle is coming along well, I’m sure she’ll be happy to get back to her normal activities and speed!
The earlier you start, the less fears you have. Moms ankle is getting better all the time, but it will take a while until she is back to normal. It’s nice to have the boot gone.

My sisters and mom really have fun with agility.
So cute! Tallulah and Mommy did agility this time last year, and Tallulah loved it, Mommy’s hoping to find an inside facility because our summer’s are just too hot for the outdoor one they went to. Tallulah and Mommy don’t like the heat nearly as much as I do. 😉
None of us like the heat. Most of our agility places are indoors up here which is nice.

She is quickly becoming her own hound, that is for sure.
Madison gets cuter every time I see her and I didn’t think that was possible. i You can tell she is working hard to focus adn doing a spectacular job for a first course.
She is super smart and learns really fast, but boredom is her worst enemy!
I’m glad both girls are continuing with it. We have to wait a little while to get Rye started because we have some travel plans that conflict with the schedule for the beginners class, but we’re looking forward to getting started, too!
We can’t wait until we are able to compete, but Mom says we have to take classes and practice for at least a year first. It will be a lot of fun! We’re happy Rye will be starting too!

We love to be out in nature, but we love the convenience of all the classes and things to do near the city. Agility is a lot of fun.

Last night was the first time in two months she did a bit of slow running with my sisters at agility class and it was so much more fun for all of them. They both went flying over the jumps and never knocked a bar, whereas they have been so slow bars dropped all the time…no more of that!
