Ramps and stairs come in these big brown boxes but don’t be scared! The boxes weigh under twenty pounds! That’s right, they are lightweight because they are made out of high density, industrial grade foam!
My GBGV Life received the Royal Ramps ramp and stairs in this post to review. My GBGV Life receives no additional benefits for barking about Royal Ramps products or the company. The opinions in this review are the honest opinion of My GBGV Life. Royal Ramps is not responsible for the contents of this post.
Many pups jump on and off chairs, couches, beds, and other furniture, but even for younger dogs this can be risky. Jumping can lead to joint or back problems in dogs. As dogs age, they are not able to jump as they did when they were younger which makes ramps and stairs a wonderful tool to help them get up onto the furniture where they are allowed. For my sisters, the ramp and stairs were simply fun to run up and down! There are many reasons why you may want ramp and stairs for your dog! What are these Royal Ramps?
High quality ramps and stairs!
Royal ramps makes high quality products! Some of the key feature we love are:
- Royal Ramps are made in USA with high quality materials
- Industrial grade high density foam make their products light weight, yet durable
- Pets up to around 75 lbs should have no problem using these foam products
- Sturdy hand sewn covers have zippers and can be removed to be washed
- The covers are made from high grade upholstery fabric which is impervious to stains
- Royal Ramps are acclaimed by Veterinarians
Which products did I receive?
Royal Ramps sent me the 21″, two piece pet ramp in Oyster Suede, and the 21″ tall three step pet stairs also in Oyster Suede. Depending on what you need a ramp or stairs for, you can adjust their positioning against the furniture, and decide how many of the pieces you need for the correct height. We love both products and think they are perfect for a dog who needs assistance!
Features of the 2 piece ramp!
First of all, it is a two piece set. When used together, super strong Velcro fuses the pieces together.
If you don’t need the full 21″ height, the shorter end can be used alone as I am demonstrating to get onto my footstool. The fabric is not slippery at all and actually seems to help my paws grip as I climbed up.
Perhaps you have a taller piece of furniture? Simply stick the two ramp pieces together and you have a longer and taller ramp to get your dog onto the furniture. I’m not an agility dog like my sisters, and I have no “formal” ramp training, but at ten years old, this ramp was no problem for me to climb.
Features of the 3 step pet stairs!
Little Miss Madison tried putting two of the steps together to get onto the guest bed. It was just the right height for the bed, and for Madison who is a short legged puppy!
For the bed she sleeps in at night, she needed all three steps put together. Just as with the two piece ramp, the pieces are held together with strong Velcro.
Easy to clean!
When we took these out of their boxes, Mom was immediately concerned about them getting dirty or stained, but those fears are unfounded! Each piece has a fabric cover which can easily be removed using the zipper. The covers can then be machine washed and air dried. For small stains, pet stains, soda, and even red wine, simply use some soap and luke warm water to rub off the stain! With pets, you need a product like this that is easy to keep clean!
How to get your own ramp or stairs!
You can visit the Royal Ramps site to order your own ramp or stairs. Ramps and stairs come in several colors and they have other options which we didn’t receive. The ramp we received sells for $246.99, and the stairs $287.99.
If you are lucky, you can win the products we received by entering through the giveaway widget below! Although we love these items, we don’t have a use for them as we are not allowed on the furniture, and Mom lifts us in and out of bed. We only used the ramp and stairs for testing and photos, so I will box them up and ship them out to the winners. There will be two winners, one for the ramp, one for the stairs. If the widget is acting up, click here for the link. Good luck!

OMD! Sweetie, I need the steps sooo bad to help me get up on the couch. It is embarrassing to have to keep trying to get my short legs to boost myself up there! I love the velcro idea! XXOO Bentley โฅ
You would love them! Madison says she can relate as she didn’t used to be able to jump up on things with Bailie, but now she is bigger and she can…but neither is supposed to! Good luck to my sweetie!
Wow! Those look awesome! I would consider getting some when my dogs get older or if we get a smaller/shorter dog!
They are a great concept!
Oh, I would take the stairs. We have two large dogs (Coonhound Mix and GSD Mix) but we foster often and sizes range from small to large. The modules would me be great!
Gee, both these products look great. I know my Suki, who I lost last year, would have really been able to use either one. She was having difficulty getting up and down from the couch and bed at the end. I currently have three rescued Treeing Walker Coonhounds, all in the 6-8 year-old range (my girl could actually be older than 8 – you seldom know for sure with rescue dogs). Kyoko is having increased difficulty getting up and down, and I can actually hear the creaking in her joints., I think, since the dogs are used to regular stairs, I’d go with the steps.
Oh my, to hear the creaking would be so hard! Good luck to you! These are such practical and wonderful tools for dogs.
Those look like an excellent idea. I like the way they look like furniture. Of course Storm would be the only one able to use it in our house since the boys weigh too much. ๐
I would think a slightly larger dog would be fine too, but not a real heavy breed.
The Stairs would be perfect for my furbabies,Thanks so very much
My chihuahuas really need the ramp!
Easy washing of the fabric cover is a plus! I think the stairs would be helpful for our 11 year old “puppy.” He doesn’t like to admit he needs help. (But who does.)
Some dogs love to have help, others don’t. Good luck to you!
Such good pictures you guys take! I will make sure to share this post to let more people know about the awesome giveaway!
Thank you. Thanks for sending Matthew our way!
Toby could would get use out of the stairs.
Good luck to you!
I think I’d take the ramp — it doesn’t require much more room than the stairs and I think it would be easier for my older dog, who’s lived his whole life in a house with no stairs.
I’ll take the ramp as my dog has had 2 hip surgerys
I’d love to have the steps for my dogs. The seniors will really appreciate it.
The stairs!
Ramp
My pitbull would love these! She’s a big girl with short legs and it is a biiiiiig jump into the bed every night. As she gets older I can see it getting harder and harder to make that jump but she does every time. She’s an independent girl and doesn’t want me to lift her so these stairs would be a great way to help her get up and let her keep her Diva dignity!
Charlie would do well with the steps. He’s only 15 lbs but has had some back issues and knee issues. At 10 years old, I would love to help prevent injuries as he loves to jump on my bed at night to sleep with me!
Great models ๐ I love your pics! My dogs are small and would love the assistance of the ramp. They would love feeling independent by being able to get up and down on the furniture without my help.
It’s so much safer for them too.
I would Love the ramp for My Dalmatian girl Sky ..She really loves to get a running start so I think they would be great for her!!!
I want to get a taller bed for underbed storage, the dogs are getting older, the steps would be perfect for them when I get that new bed frame.
That would definitely be a big help.
bow wow! We would be a ramp family. bow wow!
I would love the ramp. We have stairs that Sampson absolutely refuses to use. Instead, I have a crib mattress next to the bed, that he uses for a step. I have one of those floor chairs that unfolds to a bed and we put that next to the couch, but he also refuses to use it. His leg with the partial CCL tear has continued to decline and now his Meniscus seems to be going. He will use the ramp to get into the car, but the ramp I have is just not one you would set up in the house. So a ramp like this would really come in handy.
Honestly, I think if I could turn back time, I would teach both my dogs to use stairs to get on furniture, then it wouldn’t be such a struggle when they aged.
Great post with lots of good information in it!
We were so sorry to hear about the Meniscus going! Poor Sampson, such a great guy and his body is being so mean to him. We hope you win for your pups!
I would love the steps!!!! My dog is having some pain in her leg and this would help!
They are both awesome and would be excellent for Tut. I think we’d choose the stairs if we won.
Good luck! They are both awesome!
I think, Iโd get more use out of the ramp. Love that there are items out there like this!
I’m so glad you posted about these as the company I purchased ramps from years ago are no longer and we need some new ramps! I’m ordering this weekend – do you do affiliate work with these guys and have a code?
Sorry it took so long to get back to you, but we were at a NW trial all weekend. We don’t do affiliate stuff with them, so no worries. The ramps are quite practical!
Awesome! http://mylifewithdogspdx.com/dog-ramps-need-one/ I went ahead and bought some and included your review in my post!
