The fairy tree in Sherwood Forest is indeed a magical tree! Last weekend Bailie, our Purple Girl, was hiking around in Sherwood Forest and came upon the tree. What happened next really freaked here out!
Walking along, sniffin’ for critters and stuff, Bailie stumbled upon this sign at the base of a big tree. Surely this was some kind of child’s play, or a joke? I’ve been hiking around Sherwood Forest for ten years and even lived there for a few months at one time, but I have never seen the fairy tree.
Being a good scent hound, she sniffed up the sign real good but didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary. She could tell lots of squirrels had been to the sign but that was about it.
Suddenly, the magic began. Bailie heard some pleasant, light noises in the distance. She looked up to see what was happening, and the fairy appeared with a load of fairy dust – amazingly in purple, Bailie’s color! Bailie wanted to run away and hide, but she was in a trance of sorts and could not move.
Next thing she knew, she too was a fairy, and a purple one at that! The little fairy disappeared in an instant and left Bailie with fairy wings. It was incredible, but she says it was also unsettling.
The wings were light as feathers, but still odd. Once Bailie started to walk away from the Sherwood Forest fairy tree, her new purple fairy wings vanished as quickly as they had arrived. This tree is definitely a magical tree, but Bailie said she might be afraid to go back to it. Meeting a fairy seems to have rattled her nerves! Have you ever seen a fairy tree and been blessed with your own fairy wings?
what a fabulous magic place… and you became a fairy … maybe there is still some of that fairy dust in your furs and you can still do some magic things? like bringing 87 greenies in your bowl…
I never thought to look for residual fairy dust! Thanks for that idea!
Poor Bailie, the victim of a real fairy tail (or is it tale?)! I hope she does not have bad dreams about the purple haze. XOXO, Sparkle
She is one of those who forgets things quickly. No harm done in this tale.
Does the magic stay with you? Maybe you can do wonderful work hinges now. Have you tried?
She always claims she can do wonderful things even without fairy dust. She is pretty much a good girl.
Too bad those wings disappeared – flying might be fun.
LOL! Mom won’t even let her drive! Can’t imagine the wild child flying!
Emma! That was so cool for Bailie. I wish we could have been with her. We love adventures like that. Will she go back? Maybe she can figure out a way to carry home some of that fairy dust!! Great post!! Have a great day, your doodle friend Dash
I’m not sure if she will go back. The experience was a bit scary and unexpected. It was interesting, though.
Oh how my Mom LOVED this!! She always believes that fairies and squirrels live inside of trees and this made her smile. I never met a fairy, but you sure are making me want to! Barks and licks and love, Dakota
Well, Bailie says it was a little creepy since she didn’t expect it, but it was pretty cool too!
Oh my dog. That forest is magical!

I never thought such a place existed!
Wow Bailey I want to take whatever it is you are taking. Love Dolly
LOL! Most of the time, she is just high on life!
Nothing like that has ever happened to us! It seemed pretty cool, but we would probably be freaked out too (especially Luke!).
Bailie never expected to see a fairy or to become one!
I have seen little fairy trees and want one for our backyard. Everyone can use a little magic in their lives β₯
You can come up here and take this one right out of Sherwood Forest!
My dear friend, Millie, at http://momentswithmillie.me, is a fairyolo gist so I don’t doubt that Bailie had an encounter with a fairy. Tell her not to worry – fairies are harmless, loving souls. β€οΈ
A fairyologist? Never heard of such a thing! Learn something new every day!
Now that’s what you call a truly magical day!
What a great way to put it!
Wow….Magic IS real!!!

Bailie really knows that for sure.
Very cute
It was a great story. I’m wondering how Mom was handling this? Did she see the fairy too?
I don’t think Mom saw any of it. It as all Bailie and the camera captured the magic π
AbsoDOODLEtutely adorable.
Our very own fairy!
