Are you familiar with the little mermaid statue in Copenhagen, Denmark? She has been there over one hundred years now. Mom said Bailie reminds her of the little mermaid in this photo, just a bit furrier!
This photo is not the best, but it is the only half way decent one we have of the little mermaid. Mom has seen her five or six times, but her photos are either old or not real good. This one is from 2004. No matter, do you see a resemblance between the mermaid and Bailie?
Today, Iβm joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop sponsored by BlogPaws! Donβt forget to stop by and visit some new blogs for fun!
What a cool statue but we have to admit Bailie is much cuter! π
Well, Bailie is about a hundred years younger too, LOL!
I remember getting lost at the Mermaid statue. I sure wish Bailie was there. She could helped me.
Oh dear, that’s not good. At least most Danes speak good English.
I think Bailie is so much cuter.
Definitely a softer look!
You met the real mermaid! Holy seaweeds!!
Lily & Edward
My mom has. I never did, but I did touch my paws on Danish soil before moving back to the US.
absolutely!!! what a great post. So clever. And Bailie looks happy!! have a great day. your doodle friend Dash
Mom just looked at the photo and thought “mermaid”. Bailie was having a blast swimming in the creek. You can read about that adventure on Friday π
I do see a resemblance!
Luckily, Bailie isn’t green!
Great one Bailie, you nailed it!
She has become our very own mermaid.
absolutely!!! you are a beautiful mermaid Bailie… the mama said I’m more like a statue they have in brussel, the petit julien ;o)))
What? I thought Brussel only had Brussel sprout statues?
…they also have one who water the sprouts ;O)
I totally see a resemblance. But Baillie’s tongue is longer.
You make a very good point. The mermaid is a bit more refined.
Sailors are going to be telling the tale of Bailie the Mermaid for years! XXOO
Maybe canoe folks, since she was on a rock in a creek π
nice photos!
Before long, busloads of tourists will be coming to see Bailie. You can parlay that into a treat fund. π Happy Wordless Wednesday!
Oh yes! We can finally make some cash with that girl!
Not only is Bailie furrier, she’s less green. π
We’ll have to get her to pose after she helps with the lawn mowing so she is a bit green!
Oh yes, we love it! Very creative of your Mom to think of that. The only difference is the mermaid looks rather pensive, and Bailie just looks happy! π
We think of Bailie as a more modern mermaid. A hundred years ago life was tough, so she probably wasn’t all that happy.
Definitely furrier, cuter, and much less green!! BOL!
Very true, but the do have similarities.
Cute mermaid
She does! Bailie is much cuter though π
The real mermaid is a famous piece of serious art. Bailie is more modern pop art, but they have similarities.
Bailie does a good mermaid impression.
My momma LOVES mermaids. I think she is one since she spends so much time in da water. My middle name are even Arielle.
I guess water lovers would love mermaids. Your middle name is very pretty!
Paws down – Bailey is much more attractive!
Much more lively too, LOL!
Oh so cute! And I do see the resemblance! And they’re both topless. π (I love mermaid lore!)
LOL! leave it to my sister to pose topless! My mom has always loved visiting the Danish mermaid.
This is a great one Balie! Every girl’s dream lol
Thankfully her back legs didn’t fuse together!
Did you see the recent picture of her? Someone dumped red paint all over her! Very sad.
Yes, that was awful. They have beheaded her too. People can be so awful!
Nice statue and you look fantastic!
She was having a lot of fun in the creek that day.
We can definitely see the resemblance Bailie!!
xoxo

It turned out to be a good accidental photo.
I think this is the same statue mom saw in Vancouver, Stanley Island and it’s a replica. Love Dolly
That could be. It is very famous.
I LOVE mermaids! They’re so ethereal and beautiful. I love seeing statues and artwork with mermaids on them. My favorite collar/leash sets I have for my dogs are the ones with a beautiful mermaid & seashell design. I’ve never seen this beautiful statue in Denmark, but I’d love to!
Love & Biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us And We Luv Them
She is very famous and definitely worth seeing if you are in Copenhagen.
