Summer evenings and early mornings are our favorite times of day here in the summertime. Summer is our least favorite season as none of us like heat, and/or humidity. Hanging out in the yard before bed is usually a good time. My sisters have the most fun and usually get their wild pants on.
I enjoy touring the yard, sniffing around to see who has been there during the day. The lighting is also rather calming.
Madison is not only the youngest, but also the wildest of us all. She loves to run full speed around the yard. Such a happy little one!
Sometimes the two peas in a pod like to get loud! They howl and carry on like real crazy girls.
Madison and Bailie are a lot like Siamese Twins, always together. They really have a wonderful bond. When it comes to looks, Madison is more like me, and she has some of my tendencies like eating slow, and being picky, but her personality is definitely like wild child Bailie. They are both super outgoing with other dogs and people.
I prefer to stand off to the side and just watch their nonsense. Participating in their wild games isn’t really my thing, but I do enjoy hanging out in the yard on summer evenings.
Today we are joining Brianβs blog in the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Stop by some other blogs to find out what they are thankful for!
Maybe you need a fourth that you can call all you own.
I really have never been a real dog, dog. Katie was my bff. She was like my sisters and loved everyone, but I always kept to myself. I’m happy hanging out with Mom most of the time.
I am a little wild too, but you, Emma, are my favorite, You can look so solemn. Enjoy your evenings – do you get lightening bugs? XOXO, Sparkle
We do. Lately we have seen some of them out in the dark. Kind of freaky! I am pretty well liked by many, not sure why.
oh yes summer evenings are great… we can talk about the day and we can enjoy the good weather while relaxing with an ice tea and a chewing bone ;o)
Evening bones are the best!
I love that shot of Madison playing. It’s so good that her and Bailey have each other. Then you can just be you.
Those two do their thing, I do mine.
We are like you too, we don’t like this summer heat. When it is too hot early in the morning and late at night, things are really bad. It was 86 when we went to bed and 82 early this morning. We are headed to the 98-100 range today – YUCK Give us winter and snow any day. Madison is a lot like Misty – always looking to run around and have lots of fun. Lightning is more like you, watch and take in all the action:)
Woos – Lightning and Misty
Yeah, it’s going to be 90 and tropical today, yuck!
Emma – you and Harley are kindred spirits – dancing to the beat of a different drum!
Mom tells me I’m my own dog and very comfortable in my own furs. I think she is right. Nothing wrong with that, right Harley?
Each of you enjoy life at your own speed, I like that! I wish I could get my little brother to slow down, but I do enjoy watching his antics from afar. Chablis
My crazy sisters make me nuts with all their wild play, but I have my own peaceful places to hang out.
Emma, you remind me of our beagle Kobi. He was always content to just sit on the sidelines and watch the silly goings on of his siblings!
I had my wild times in the past, but these days I prefer to be on my own and not participate.
I love the action shot of Madison! Those two sure do know how to have fun. We enjoy the mornings and evenings but have to keep an eye out for mosquitoes.
They spray a lot around here I think as we don’t have too many of those nasty buggers around.
We’ve been going on evening walks since it’s not quite so hot then.
We go super early to avoid the heat.
Most of us hang out together in the evenings but it looks like y’all have lots more fun! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Sometimes cat bro Bert wants to enjoy the evening in the yard with us, but he is not allowed. If he sneaks out, Mom says get the kitty and we round him up for Mom so she can bring him back inside.
Summer is my Mom’s least favorite season too, mine also because of my long fur. Mom loves Fall and I do too! Your photos are just precious as always!! Barks and licks and love, Dakota DakotasDen
Summer almost makes us sad. It looks so pretty and inviting looking out the window, but when you go out, it is unbearable!
I love the evening sunlight. It’s so wonderful for photos and makes Madison’s eyes look beautiful!
She has the same brown eyes Bailie and I have, but with the black furs around them, they take on a new look.
Differences are good. And fun. Sometimes it’s nice to be different, isn’t it!
I don’t mind a bit. I’m pretty self confident.
The lighting is perfect in these photos…my favorite has to be the one of Madison running with such a playful look! It is quite nice to enjoy the cooler temps in the evening. The heat has been brutal…and the humidity! Glad I don’t live in Florida!!
We are not Florida fans for many reasons, but one is the humidity and the heat. Looking forward to winter!
WE are enjoying early morning and evening porch time as the rest of the day it is just too hot.
It’s such a shame because it looks so nice out but is just too hot.
Madison sounds like Ducky – wild child extraordinaire – but I love her crazy, all-out insanity. She makes me laugh with her zoomies and how she suddenly stops, lays down on a dog bed, flops over, and goes to sleep. Callie was Shadow’s BFF (and vice-versa); but sometimes Shadow will bark at Ducky as if to say “play with me”. I think she feels left out at times. And it’s those times when she really, really misses her older sister. But I do my best to include Shadow in ALL the fun.
I’ve always been more of a loner dog. I loved Katie, and have played with Bailie and Madison, but I prefer to just hang out with Mom on my own. Madison and Bailie are both very similar in their personalities and they sure have fun together.
There’s your old soul showing again Emma, but that’s okay, Katie’s paws are an important role to fill. Personally we avoid the early evenings due to mosquitos and it’s still too hot here! Love Dolly
Not every night is a good one to be out, but many are nice and they spray a lot for those mosquitoes so it isn’t so bad.
So nice to let one’s hair down after a long toasty day!
My sisters let their furs down, I prefer to leave mine tied in knots!
We like summer evenings, too. Sometimes bunnies slip under the fence which makes evenings even more exciting here π
We see most of those wabbits in the early morning hours but the young ones do come out in the evenings sometimes.
Wild pants is fun
Around here, it seems to be the norm!
We’re not fans of the summer either, so I get this. You are a dignified, mature dog, so your touring and supervising is totally appropriate. π
We’re having a lot of cool weather right now which is perfect. 75 is plenty warm for us!
