Liverwurst as a portable dog treat? Say it isn’t so! I bet your dog would love to have liverwurst as a reward when she is out and about? Liverwurst is one of our very favorite rewards, but it is a mess to carry around. Mom has tried freezing it in small pieces, frying it, mixing it with bread crumbs, but the result was always a huge mess in our treat pouch! By accident, Mom stumbled onto this Treat Toob and decided to order one!
Madison is a real problem with her food snobbery. She refuses everything, but usually, she loves liverwurst. With this in mind, Mom figured this “Toob” could be used to dispense liverwurst at Madison’s sporting events. It says right on the package it works for liverwurst which makes giving it a whirl a no brainer!
Mom filled it up with liverwurst. She had to shake it down to get more in with a butter knife, but it wasn’t difficult. The Toob itself is made of FDA food-safe silicone, the entire product is BPA-free, PC-free, and phthalate-free making is safe to use.
Once it was full and the lid was back on, it went outside to where Bailie was sitting. With a small squeeze, the delicacy started to work it’s way out of the “no drip” opening. The Food Toob we purchased is a large and holds three ounces. It actually is a great size that fits well in Mom’s hand.
Bailie went in for the test run and I think from the photo, you are able to see she approves! For Mom it is finally the answer to her dilemma of how to turn liverwurst into a portable treat. No more messy fingers or liverwurst under her nails and we get what we want!
Another bonus – the body of the toob is dishwasher safe on the top rack. The cap must be hand washed. It’s super easy to keep clean! You can use it for ground meat, peanut butter, yogurt, basically anything squishable! We will keep it in a cooler bag when it has liverwurst in it for food safety reasons when we are at trials.
We have never contacted Food Toob, and this is simply a review of something we are loving that we found and purchased all on our own and wanted to share with our friends. You can bet this will definitely be along for Bailie’s upcoming trials and maybe mine as well. Madison gave it a go at her ORT Saturday, but it was a fail. She didn’t like to lick the tube and the liverwurst fell on the ground which causes a fault in nose work. At least Bailie and I are good about eating!
If you want to have a look for yourself, we bought our Treat Toob on Amazon. If you purchase one through our link, we may get a few pennies to buy more liverwurst as it is an affiliate link.
My dog loves liverwurst, but it is nasty unless it’s ice cold. On hot days, it squishes as I’m trying to cut it up. I’ll have to check these food tubes out. Thanks for sharing your find.
You described perfectly why we couldn’t use it for training treats. It works best in the food toob after the chill is off, but it comes out cold too, just have to squeeze harder.
OOOH! OOOH! I am having a birthday this week and I saw that mom ordered one for each of us. My tail is wagging so fast!!! Eble (I will be 2 years old)
Yay for you guys! If she fills yours with liverwurst, you are guaranteed a great second birthday! Enjoy!

My mom finds it disgusting, but my Gramma loves it like we dogs do.
Madison makes us all smile. Food snob! I would love the toob I bet!! great post! your doodle friend Dash
She makes the world smile I think! She is a total food snob and it does cause a lot of problems!
what a great idea!!! that’s like magic… and super tasty!!! the mama would love it instead to have 87 treats in her pocket ;o)
It is nice and neat and we love the liverwurst but other stuff can go into it too.
This is BRILLIANT! I need one for ME!!!
We don’t know why we never thought or heard of such a thing before!
That is a pretty darn cool invention and you will get a lot of use out of it!
We are looking forward to lots of liverwurst!
That is really cool! I’m sure the boys would love liverwurst too.
If they don’t, check to see if they are alive, and then rush them to the vet. Anything liver is amazing for the taste buds!
What a great idea!! In fact, we think we need Mama to buy some liverwurst AND this toob so we can try it!

Sounds like a wonderful plan!
That looks pretty handy! Luke would probably love that for training, we’ve never tried liverwurst before. I’m glad you’re happy with it too, even if it didn’t work out for your original intention.
Figuring out a reward for Madison is a tall order, but Mom is determined. Bailie and I just love this tube thing!
well isn’t that cleaver, I like it
So simple and took us until now to stumble upon it.
What a cool idea!
So smart, yet simple!
That sounds interesting.
Well, anything that despences food is interesting.

I agree! Anything with food is good.
What a nifty tube to take on photo shoots. It would make my life so much easier dispensing a quick treat in between poses. Thanks Emma
It’s very practical. We will get a lot of use out of it.
Thanks for sharing this. We’ve had the hardest time getting Tallulah to walk lately. She goes about half a block and then stops dead in her tracks and wants to head back home. We think it may just be the heat, but Mommy’s kind of at her whit’s end. She’s tried treat bribery with limited success. The TreatTube might do the trick. We’re willing to try anything. π
It’s not too expensive, so it would be worth a try!
Clever dispenser!
Convenient and practical.
That’s brilliant. Liverwurst is a pretty motivator in my house also. Maybe with time Madison will learn to enjoy the tube as much as you and Bailie do.
We hope she figures something out. The little food snob has to find something rewarding to eat!
