The French hounds are off to the yearly nose work camp weekend! This year we have a big problem – there are three of us. Mom can’t take all of us, and she decided to leave me home and take my sisters! I was really mad for a while! I’m the queen of nose work, I can’t miss camp!
After discussing it at length with Mom, I realized staying home will be just fine. I don’t like to hang out with my crazy sisters anyway, and I really get mad when they do nose work and I have to wait for my turn. By staying home, I can assume the neighborhood watch duties from my window bed, and be spoiled being the only dog at home for three days. It will be a good thing after all, but my mom does feel quite bad about having to leave me home, as she should.
Bailie has gone to camp twice, but this year I think she is showing off for Madison. The two of them are convinced they need their berets and backpacks to go to camp! That alone makes me happy I’m not involved!
According to the DNR, the leaves should be real pretty up north this weekend, so Bailie is bringing along her camera to hopefully snap some nice photos. I just hope she puts it on auto mode because she is not a good photographer!
Madison isn’t worried about much of anything except having to wear her panties. She says she is embarrassed, but they actually look rather cute on her. At least at home, she doesn’t have to wear them much. The little one is a big flirt, which means Mom has to keep a close eye on her and the boys!
Last night Mom wanted the girls to get their things packed for the trip. Of course, my sisters heard about a man who was recently lost in the north woods and ran out of food, so my sisters packed enough food for several weeks. Oh, and they packed a lot of snacks too. I have to go get some of those back to keep here with me for the weekend!
Both Bailie and Madison love squeaky toys and they packed about a dozen of them. Lord help the poor dog who has to share a cabin with these two! It makes me laugh just imagining it! Hopefully they will get some good nose work experience and bring back good ideas to share with me. Don’t worry, Mom spends a lot of time doing things with just me. It was just a shock for me learning I wasn’t going to camp, but I will be fine.
I don’t know if I like this plan. You should come and stay with me and Katie in New York. We will make you a city slicker. Mom better bring you a nice present for being so understanding.
I don’t think there is anything to bring from camp except some mud and pine needles, but I had fun with my sitter.
you can visit me for that time, we could have an all you can eat pawty… and no worries all my squeakers are silent after I redesigned them ;o) I wish your mom and your sisters a super camp time…

It was a real nice weekend with all the quiet and special attention for just me.
We love your sisters’ backpacks – we imagine all the treats we could carry with us on a day trip and not have to ask Mom for any!

Mom is trying to get me in a trial, but they are always so full. One day we will hit the road and leave those other two behind.

I really wanted to go and do nose work, but the whole camp part with so many dogs isn’t so much my thing. I had a fun weekend at home and hopefully I will get into t trial soon and can travel then.

My sister is super nice and we had a real nice weekend. I got to work on college homework and everything!
