Dogs are great and I have
a million five reasons why dogs are great! Mom is always so thankful she has us furry friends to hang out with everyday for so many different reasons. I really put my thinking cap on to narrow my list down to only five!
5 Reasons Dogs Are Great
1. Dogs Provide Unconditional Love
We dogs love our humans. It doesn’t matter if they are mad at us, in a sad mood, happy, or whatever they are feeling, we love you! Many of us love to snuggle up, lick tears off faces, just be there at your feet when you need us. Who else do you know that greets you at the door when you were gone for two minutes as if you had been gone for two years? We love you no matter what and always want to be with you. Well, maybe I would rather chase a wabbit sometimes, but I will come back really fast.
2. Dogs Bring Happiness
Dogs bring happiness. Have you ever tried to really be angry with a dog or frown at a dog for more than a few minutes? It is nearly impossible. We have the look that will melt your heart and bring everything in the world back to happy. A dog has the power to give humans that warm, fuzzy feeling they crave.
3. Dogs Are Great Stress Relievers
Studies have shown that petting or holding a dog can release stress as well as lower blood pressure in humans. I know when Mom is stressed with work, she takes a short break to hang out with my sisters and me to get herself back into balance. At our nose work trials, Mom is always a stressed out mess. At the start line and at each find, she snuggles with us, not only to help us focus and know we did good, but it helps her relax. You will see her and Bailie huggling while waiting for their searches. It works for us!
4. Dogs Are The Best Workout Buddies
Sure, you can workout on your own, but I would bet you stick with your program longer if you are not alone! What dog ever said, “I can’t walk this morning because I’d rather stay in bed.”? No dog that I know of. We are always there, ready to walk, run, hike, whatever kind of exercise you would like to do. If walking and running are your thing, we are there to offer a layer of protection as people with a dog are less likely to be attacked. Criminals don’t like to mess with dogs.
5. Dogs Are Not Cats
Sorry, Kitty, but you need to move over. Mom loves her kitties, but they always put themselves first. They can’t do sports, and they really do what they want, not what the human wants. Dogs will put the needs of their human first and will do almost anything for their own human. Mom likes to have dogs and cats because cats are good for sitting on her lap, but for everyday activities she is thankful for us dogs. Kitties have their own different spot in Mom’s life.
Those are my top five reasons why dogs are great. My mom says she can’t imagine ever living without a dog at this point in her life. The more dogs the better is her thinking, but our city has a legal limit of three. She loves me so much, and we do as much stuff together as we can, including silly selfies! What would you say makes dogs so great?
Dogs are the best!! These guys know when someone isn’t feeling well, and are right there to help out.
We are the best. We are always there for you.
We agree…dogs are the best!! Mama thinks three is the pawfect number….for now ;-).
xoxo,
Jakey, Arty & Rosy
My mom would say the same for now.
We agree – we have been a pack of 4 and we like having buddies to play with!
We’ve never been more than three, but with four, there would be no odd dog out issues with games.
Mom dictated our message for today. She said for me to write this: Right On Emma!!! Dogs are the BEST!!!! Have a great day!! your doodle friend Dash
Yay! Your mom is awesome!
You are definitely all 5 of those, Emma (and Bailie and Madison.) Lyla and I are the bestest ever!!! XOXO, Sparkle
I’m sure you two are the most wonderful pups ever for your mom!
ok now for us, Number 4 is NOT the case lol……………not at all! I hear you about Number 5 but………my Cody is the most athletic cat I have ever had…he has always been rough and tumble. And….he DOES come when called, he can do some tricks…………sometimes he cooperates more than Dakota. But……….sensitivity wise Dakota wins paws-down………..Dakota lives to please me π
Our cat bro Bert is more dog like, but he sure can be a pain in the furs! As for #4, Mom loves having built in workout buddies.
Dogs are warm and cuddly. Mine snuggles against me and if I move, he moves too to be pressed against me. Mom is lucky she can have up to three. Many buildings in NYC don’t allow dogs or allow only one.
It’s a good thing there is a limit because mom loves puppies and watching them grow up. We would definitely be more than three if we could.
Those are all great reasons. Now, we need to get Mom to scratch our bellies in appreciation. BOL!
Nice ear massages are good too for us long eared ones!
Dogs are so awesome and this list definitely made us want one even more!
Cats are super cool, but dogs seem to relate better to humans.
AMEN!!! I can not image life without a dog – even into my 80’s and nineties. as long as I have a back up person in case the dogs should outlive me. My godmother had dogs into her 90’s, and I believe they were what kept her going.
Especially when humans get older, the companionship is so important!
We agree 100%!! I didn’t have dogs until I was in my 30’s, but now I also cannot imagine ever being without one…or two…(for now)…maybe three again later!
I love that each dog has their own personality too, so if one dog is missing a trait you love (such as snuggling) the other might cover that!
We are all the same breed and very similar but also are very different. Mom didn’t have her own dog until her late 20’s but that started the ball rolling! Growing up as a teenager the family had a dog, but he was super naughty I hear.
You certainly Do and Are all 5 of them.
Pawsome boys!
Dang, how did you keep the list to only 5? We used to have big dogs here and we do miss them.
Kitty sis Sophie would love for us dogs to disappear, but Bert likes to hang out with us.
Reason #4 is my favorite. Even when Mom’s knee was at its worst before her surgery, I kept her active and kept her muscles strong. I was a great workout partner. No couch sitting allowed!
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Yep! We make the best fitness buddies on the planet I think! Good work on your part.
Great reasons and so very true.
I think so too.
I couldnβt agree more
