Isle of Dogs has really healthy, tasty, treats for dogs, and I figured such great treats deserve a great review. I was lucky enough to find a huge, outdoor stage in a local park. My photographer and I, along with my treats headed up on stage for my
performance review!
My GBGV Life received the Isle of Dogs™ treats in this post to review. My GBGV Life receives no additional benefits for barking about Isle of Dogs products or the company. A bit about Isle of Dogs
Isle of Dogs is a company out of our neighboring state, Wisconsin. They are concerned with inner and outer health of dogs, and have a line of shampoos, conditioners, sprays for the outside of your dog, but I am mostly interested in inner health, food, treats, and supplements. Yes, the treats and chews are what really tugged at my long ears! I received a bag of Nourish Dental Chews, and two bags of Jerky Bites to test out.
nourish™ Dental Chews – Hip + Joint
nourish™ gran free, functional daily dental chews help clean teeth and freshen breath while supporting hip and joint health. The dental chews are two layers, the inside for hip and joint health, the outside is for dental health. Dental chews are available in small, medium and large sizes. We chose medium and there are sixteen chews at about 75 calories each. I keep count so I know if my mom or sisters try to steal my stuff!
Once I got the bag open, I could smell the dental chews and they sure smelled good. It’s hard to believe they could actually be good for me! A few facts about the dental chews:
- no grain
- no gluten
- no soy
- no wheat
- no corn
- no artificial colors
- no artificial flavors
Nourish Dental Chews are made with triple action Pecodent™. What is Pecodent? It is made with finely ground pecan shells to provide natural fiber and help clean teeth. It also contains turmeric and parsley for flavoring, and the grooves and ridges around the outside of the Dental chews help scrape off plaque and tartar. I put a few out so you all could see them, but I couldn’t help myself! I had to try one!
My verdict is in within seconds! I love these and if they help keep me healthy, I’m ready to eat the entire bag!
nourish™ Jerky Bites
I was also sent two bags of nourish™Jerky Bites to try, lamb and beef. They look good, and the pieces are small, which makes them good training treats. Nourish™ Jerky Bites facts:
- no grain
- no animal meal
- no wheat
- no gluten
- no corn or soy
- no artificial preservatives
- no potatoes or lentils
- no artificial flavors or colors
- high in protein
Being a lamb lover, I decided to try the lamb first. (Please excuse the drool on the concrete. I couldn’t help myself.) The Lamb Jerky Bites are 90% pasture raised lamb from New Zealand! Lamb Jerky Bites are are made with all natural ingredients like lamb, lamb lung, lamb liver, rosemary, and green-lipped mussels. To avoid using preservatives, the Jerky Bites are air dried at low temperatures.
I couldn’t resist! The bag says to have a couple treats a day, but I behaved like a real animal and shoveled them into my mouth. A girl can’t eat just one! Do be careful, though, as the Jerky Bites are rather small, but sneaky humans can easily break the small pieces into minuscule pieces which isn’t nice!
Lamb Jerky Treats taste so good, you may also forget your lady like manners and get caught with your nose in the bag!
Although I love lamb, beef is nothing I would ever turn down! I better be fair and give the Beef nourish™Jerky Bites a try. They look just like the Lamb Jerky Bites, but how will they taste? The Beef Jerky Bites are made from 90% grass fed New Zealand beef!
No doubt about it, they are also super yummy! I could eat the entire 3.5 oz bag easily in one sitting, but my Mom says, “No, not allowed”. She is no fun!
I can’t keep my nose out of the bags of all natural, wholesome, Jerky Bites and Dental Chews. Why not give your dog some delicious treats that are healthy too? The holidays are coming! What dog wouldn’t have Isle of Dogs treats on their wish list?
Very cool and yummy, I didn’t know they had their own line of treats.
They are good for dogs inside and out. We don’t like baths, so we opted to test our the treats instead of shampoo.
We knew they had shampoo and stuff. Thanks for letting us know about the treats!
I feel if a dog has to be washed they deserve to be rewarded, so good thing they have wonderful treats!
That really looks like some yummy treats and snacking on the whole bag sounds like a good plan!
Unfortunately, I feel Mom is a bit stingy with treats – no whole bag for me.
Those sound tasty! We have used their grooming products before and really liked them.
I would bet a dozen wabbits you would enjoy the dental chews and jerky bites much more than any bath stuff! Yum!
Emma, you really went all out for this review, and it sounds like it was definitely worth your while! We think this is a great brand, and love their products.
I was pretty excited about how good and healthy all the treats really are!
That looks like good stuff!! Mama is going to head over there and take look at their shampoos and stuff too! We hope she isn’t planning on giving us baths!
xoxo,
Rosy, Arty & Jakey
Tell her if she gets the shampoo, you need the treats as a reward for the bath!
