I smell the first snow if the season! Sure, we had a few dustings in late October and November, but not enough to really call it a first snow. Snow is nice, but I don’t enjoy it as much as I used to. Katie and I used to really tear it up in the snow, but now I sniff around and go back inside, leaving the wild stuff for my younger sisters.
Last winter was lousy, not much snow, Mom broke her ankle, weather was too warm, all in all, not really what we dream of. It was also Madison’s first winter, but she doesn’t seem to remember a whole lot about it and is really enjoying the cold and snow now!
Bailie, our resident wild child, who loves to be immature, and have as much fun as possible in life, is diving head first into winter right now as well!
I think it might be some law of physics, but I’m not sure when it comes to combining energy levels. If you put two bundles of energy like Bailie and Madison together you will get an explosion. These explosions make for some fun viewing opportunities and photos! And they are off to perform their warm up lap!
Wrestle running is what I call this style of running. After completing a warm up lap or two, the wrestling starts to creep in to get the two bundles of energy primed for the real wild explosions!
The two moving bodies connect and the wrestle mania begins.
Size has no meaning in these games. Little Miss Sassy Pants is never afraid to stand up to Bailie who is much bigger.
Madison radiates boundless energy and the desire to take down the larger opponent!
No more battling on all fours! It’s turned into an all twos style of wrestling!
Time out! Madison seems to have some secret information about the game to pass on to Bailie. Bailie is listening and is ready to carry on.
Apparently, they need to run some more laps to re tank their energy levels. Go dogs go!
I don’t know about you all, but all the crazy play is wearing me out! I think I will go back into the warm house, have a snack, and take a little nap! Do you enjoy playing out in the snow as much as Bailie and Madison do?
Emma- I feel sad for you. Maybe you need to adopt a senior dog that needs a home.
No need to feel sad for me. I get lots of mommy and me time and that is what I like best. Other dogs get on my nerves because I like to be the center of attention.
Those wild sisters are too much!! They are so funny. When we wrestle on two legs mom calls us her bears. My sister loves the snow. I have actually never really liked it! I will walk out of my way to avoid it! Mom has to shovel a path for me! My sister will run and roll in it. Dear heavens! I’m like you … let’s go back inside, get a snack and enjoy the warm house. This is a great post Emma! Have a great day. your doodle friend Dash
I enjoy it, but now that I’m older, I’m not liking being cold as much as I used to. I spend lots of time with just mommy and me and I love that. The crazies can do their own thing. Enjoy your warm house.
I’m not sure if I will like it… we had no snow last winter, so maybe this year I can see it… but just between us… I’m with you, if it is cold I rather stay inside witth a cup of tea and some cookies…
Now that I’m older, I don’t enjoy the cold as much as I used to. Sometimes I actually get cold if I am out too long not walking.
Hee Hee, looks like so much fun. I saw your snowy instagram photos, and knew you guys were thrilled!
We are loving it and hope we get lots more. I enjoy it, but not like I used to. My sisters can do all the wild stuff and come inside looking like giant snowballs.
Shadow’s with you, Emma; but when she and Callie were young, they were just like Bailie and Madison. Ducky doesn’t need snow to be a wild child. ?β€οΈ
Just as with most living beings, we get older, settle down and are content without being so wild. I’m happy to be inside where it is warm with my mom.
Those photos were absolutely wonderful and we can tell y’all were having some fun!
we agree about the first snow being the best snow! Wish I had friends around here to romp with! (furry ones) Barks and licks and love, Dakota
Having a sister to romp with is quite practical. I know I enjoyed it when I was younger, not I’m not that into romping.
Cold crisp weather brings out the puppy in me and I actually egged my wild child younger brother to a race and rumble today. Eight years different in age, but I won anyway with my stealth and wisdom.

Outsmarting the young ones is always a good plan. Cold and wind really gets us all going around here. Glad you two had fun.
We had the same idea about first snow today, but no one gets that wild around here! Well, Luke does like to run around sometimes doing his zoomies, but of course, Cricket is not into that. She is still happy to play ball in the snow though, but she is ready for a warm nap after that!
It must be so much fun watching those girls romp around in the snow, the pictures are great!
Mom could sit there and watch them all day every day. They love it.
Snow is so rare here that we all go outside and play in it when it does happen. You see grown-ups out throwing snowballs and making snowmen. It is such fun!
The first snow is always the best because it is like new again! Hope you get a good dusting this year!
Wow! Looks like Bailie and Madison are crazy snow bunnies!!

Jakey, Arty & Rosy
They are. Both of them love being out in the snow and getting their wild pants on.
Aspen does, but Mica isn’t up to much play these days. Makes Mom sad since Mica has always been the one that was first out.
My mom misses my wilder side too at times but the cold weather and our heavy winds have made me a bit more wild than usual and she loves seeing me that way. Hope Mica is doing well, just changing from getting older as all we dogs do.
These photos are SO ADORABLE! Ruby doesn’t mind snow, but she also doesn’t play in it like this.
Mom has never had a dog who didn’t love to get out and get wild in the snow.
Wow wee what fun they are having!
No lack of fun with these two!
