I’ve got three good reasons why we are thankful this week. One should always be thankful, whether for small or large things in life.
First of all, remember Madison quit eating before Christmas? She had lost three pounds, and would not eat anything Mom gave her. After being checked out at the vet, nothing was found to be causing this problem. Madison was put on some antacids, and another medicine to coat her tummy before meals for a week.
After the week was over, she continued to eat her meals, and has gotten progressively more interested in food. We are so thankful she is eating. My mom was feeling so helpless seeing Madison losing weight, and refusing to eat. Now she seems to be back on the right track. Actually, Madison is so interested in food, she has started countersurfing! Good thing she is pretty short!
Next, we are thrilled, and thankful for our Minnesota Vikings. Finally, we have a team of super nice guys and a humble coach who can make miracles happen! #MinneapolisMiracle No matter what happens this Sunday, they are heroes in our minds. We do hope our boys show the Eagles some things about our football talent, and pull out a “W”! The Vikes have made Minnesota proud! SKOL! Make sure and check out my game outfit Sunday on my Facebook page.
Finally, we are all thankful for the five or so inches of fresh snow we got the other day. Snow has been lacking this winter, but now we have a nice coating to play around in, and it looks great too!
What are you thankful for this week?
We are joining Brian’s Home Blog in the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Those are great things to be thankful for indeed! We’re cheering for your team here, we like them too. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Oh boy, more fans! We sure hope our boys can win and make it to the big bowl, but we are a bit leery.
And I am thankful that I get to read your story everyday. It brings a smile to my face!
Thank you. We look forward to your visits every day too π
Great stuff to be thankful for, especially that Madison is feeling better.
Mom was pretty scared when she completely stopped eating. Madison is so tiny anyways and to lose 3 lbs is huge when you only had 31 to start with. It seems like she is doing great now which is wonderful.
I’m so happy that you started to eat Madison…. and I hope from now on everything is fine and there are no problems around da food front …
We sure hope she keeps on eating. She is still a picky one, but she eats her meals and that is so important.
We are thankful to you, our distant “cousin” for sharing your blog . We haven’t experienced that thing you call snow, but we notice that it’s a word that makes Mom shudder.
Is Madison really a BGV? No self respecting BGV (Grand or Petit) would walk away from FOOD!
Actually, I am super picky myself and very selective with what I actually eat. I leave many treats on the floor and walk away. Madison’s dad is my half brother from England, so she has some of my food genes I guess! We will enjoy the snow for you, no need for your mom to have to deal with it.

Madison, your peeps must be very happy you are liking food again. Try not to worry them so much again, okay? Emma, you look fab in your footy gear; and snow is fun for a while, but I’s getting ready for spring now… hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
We are so happy little Madison is interested in eating again! Around here we don’t want spring until at least March, we are all winter lovers, including my mom.
Those are such great things you have to be thankful for! We can imagine how scary it was for your Mom when Madison wasn’t eating, so we’re glad she got back on track now.
We’re happy you got some snow, we got a bit more too to make up for some of all we lost during the warm-up.
And even though we don’t follow football, I always like to hear that the Vikings are doing well, since they were one of my Dad’s favorite teams.
Thank goodness Madison is eating again because Mom was starting to get panicky about it. We have yucky warm weather today and tomorrow but possibly snow again on Sunday. Go Vikes!
I am glad Madison is feeling better.
We certainly are too!
I’m thankful the sun is out, I’m thankful for the snow even though I don’t like it, I’m thankful I didn’t get seriously hurt when I fell on black ice twice, I’m thankful for my parents and cat and so much more.
I’m thankful you didn’t get hurt on the black ice. Since the broken ankle last year we are super careful with our mom and ice of any kind.
I’m very careful too. You can be extra careful and still fall on black ice. Thanks for your well wishes.
It is always scary when our babies won’t eat. Pierre has a sensitive stomach but Bentley can eat almost anything except sweet potatoes.
None of us have any food issues, but Madison and I are picky eaters. Picky is fine, but when she would not eat anything, it was scary.
Wooftastic news regarding Maddison’s appetite.
Countersurfing hmmm, it’s been a while π
Nose nudges,
CEO Olivia
Sometimes countersurfing is a welcome site. With Madison that is the case.
Those are some pawsome things to be thankful for, Emma! We’ll be routing for your Vikings this weekend!!!
xoxo,
Rosy, Arty & Jakey
It would be so pawsome if our Vikes could pull out a “W” on Sunday. We are nervous already!
Glad Madison is back to eating.
We’ve had some very cold weather, but no snow to go wif it.
We are hoping for more cold and snow because it is too warm again right now.
well, we are definitely NOT thankful for snow! We begrudingly congratulate your Vikings (hehehe!) and we are thrilled about Madison!
It’s okay to be a Lions fan, we are just not friendly with those Packer folks π It’s high time the Vikings play some good football.
I’m so glad Madison is back to eating. I watched the Viking game and I don’t even like football. Yuck to snow, glad you and your gals love it.
Snow and cold is our thing. We dread the summer months, they are no fun for any of us. Mom feels the same way.
We have definitely thankful for a week of snow even w/ ice and sub zero temps. It’s going to warm up and rain Sunday and be warmer for the next weekβΉ. We are really thankful Madison is better and eating, it’s really scary. We had 2 x with Mica (1) when her best friend died she gave up everything. Walking, playing, swimming and completely eating. She gave up on life we had to work hard to get her up. I don’t remember how we got her eating again but it took what seemed like forever. (2) she got acid indigestion which was burning her throat. Now on Meds. She eats her meals and is back to healthy. And we will be cheering for your Vikings for a “W”. ENJOY YOUR SNOW!!!
Katie was never a big eater until she was three, but as she turned about twelve, she returned to the low food interest. Mom did tricks every day to get her to eat. Her last days she didn’t eat either. We were very scared with Madison, but felt better after the vet ruled out a lot of scary things. It was most likely a stomach irritation that healed with a bit of time and now she is loving eating. SKOL Vikings!
We are so happy Madison is eating again. We are thankful that we will have warmer weather this weekend. We do not like snow and ice. (Mommy said if we got “real” snow we might like it).
We do not like ice or rain in the winter, it is a dangerous mess! Snow is a lot of fun!
I am sitting here thinking of you Emma as I watch the Vikings struggle against the Eagles. Theyβve had a great season – they finished strong.
Last week’s game was so wonderful, it is too bad we could not have ended on that note. Last night was a disaster.
