Here we are in the third month of the 2018 Appreciate The Moments Photo Challenge. The word for this month is “lucky”. The first thing that came to mind was the luck of the Irish, but not being Irish, I decided to find something else for the word of the month.
I’m a super lucky girl. I’ve had opportunities in my life many dogs never have. The problem is, many of these things Mom can’t photograph, but I decided to share some of my lucky things anyway. For one thing, I have a Mom that I adore. Unfortunately, I do have to share her, but I like to claim her as my very own. This photo is from Karin Newstrom in the photo shoot we did back in 2012.
I have a wonderful home, full of love, comfy places to sleep, good food, lots of treats, and good healthcare. Amazingly, I’m eleven and a half, and still have tons of energy, and am super healthy. Living a healthy lifestyle with proper exercise (physical as well as mental), and proper nutrition keeps me feeling young.
My favorite thing to do is nose work. I’m lucky because my mom takes me to classes, trials, we get to practice at home, and with friends too. Sniffing is a sport I can do as long as I can walk, so pretty much forever.
Mom and I love to snuggle together. Being a snuggler, it’s great that my mom loves to snuggle with me any time, even when I find a hide at a trial. For me, the snuggle is almost more important than the treats. Thank you to Caprise Adams for the two nose work photographs. She always captures such wonderful moments.
Now back to the challenge word “lucky”. Doesn’t Vegas come to mind when you think of lucky? Gambling, and that kind of thing is all luck based. I was lucky enough to actually go to Vegas back in 2014, but Mom did not allow me to do any gambling. Lucky me did get to find a t-shirt, though.
For my “lucky” photo, I got to play some poker, and guess what? This “lucky” hound got a royal flush! My poker game photo is my choice for the word lucky. What would you choose for a “lucky” photo?
