March messiness keeps marching on around my neighborhood. Last weekend, Mom and I stopped for a nice walk along the Minnehaha Creek, but it turned out to be a super muddy walk.
It’s a beautiful area normally with woods and trails, but on Saturday it was more of a mud walk. I don’t mind, but Mom isn’t a fan of super muddy, furry creatures. Nevertheless, we pressed on. There was stillย lot of ice on the creek, and some of it was safe enough for me to go out, and sit on.
Along the paths, there are lots of benches to rest and put your paws up, or get a better look at what’s going on in the area.
We have lots of walking bridges in our area because of all the creeks and bodies of water. They always make nice photo spots.
At one point, I contemplated taking a dip in the ice cold water, but then decided against it. Mom said I could because I was already wet from all the puddles and mud around. I did take a little drink, which was refreshing. This area is a small rapids with the water flowing over a lot of rock. It is crystal clear, and even Mom said she would almost like to have a drink!
At the end of our little walk, I stopped so Mom could get a shot of my messy furs. Not only do I get wet and muddy, but with these temperatures, the mess also freezes. There is no toweling off, until I defrost a bit. Good thing we have seat covers! I’m sure in a few weeks the mess will be gone. March is the worst month of the year in our minds because it is so messy, and ugly.
Did you get a bath? We are not at the mud stage yet.
No. No point in cleaning up because I have to go out again and will get just as dirty. When the snow is gone I will get cleaned up.
guess what? we totally agree with you… no mud-vember nor mess-cember was as muddy and messy as this march …
March is always disgusting around here.
It sure looks like you were enjoying that cold white stuff!
We all love the snow.
Oh yes, the transition time from winter to spring is the worst! We haven’t gotten there yet….we still have a lot of snow and it’s been pretty chilly. But we know it’s coming soon! While I love spring, I do not look forward to the mud, that’s for sure (though it’s a bit easier for us with short-haired dogs).
Me and Madison are a real mess every time we are out. Bailie is taller so it isn’t so bad.
I agree, March is always a bad month for mud and snow. Major storm in NY yesterday and today it is sunny and mush.
Weather transition is simply a mess, but it happens every year.
At least your mom let you walk. Mine keeps me indoors in muddy weather; and she wasn’t too happy when she forgot to hang up her yesterday and I chewed the collar off of it! She has been saying she needs a new coat – I was just trying to help. Now I am praying ( yes, it is one of my tricks) for warmer weather to come so she doesn’t freeze.
Oh dear. That was not very nice to do to the poor coat. Bailie destroys pillows and toys, but never clothing.
Beautiful photos!
Thank you.
Mud season, gotta love it. Lol
Mud loves us, but Mom isn’t keen on muddy dogs.
We are enjoying spring temperatures and sunshine but our rainy season is just around the corner. Pierre is going to the groomer tomorrow and Mom brushed me today. I am pretty sure a bath is in my future.
I need to head to my spa again soon, but we are waiting for the slop to dissipate first.
Muddy and icy – dat would be messy!
It is a bad combination!
There is a bunch of mud here too…but mostly because it has been raining for what seems like 87 days!

Rain is no good. My mom can’t stand rain. We love snow, but no rain. Hope you dry out soon.
Great photos. You have a great model ๐
Thank you. I have done professional jobs for products too.
Great photos, we had a mud spell earlier now weโre pretty dry except for the rain right now
We are deep in the mud season here.
Oh wow. What a beautiful doggo. I really love the pictures.
