Multiple Kongs? I’m sure you are wondering why any family would need more than one Kong. I’m going to give you 5 good reasons why, and at the end of my post, some ideas for tasty fillers!

5 Reasons Why You Need Multiple Kongs!
1. You have multiple dogs!
Sure, dogs can share, but seriously, who wants to wait for another dog to finish a Kong so they can use the same one? Chewy.com offers Kongs in all types and sizes, something for every dog. The three of us happen to all use the Classic Large Kongs. If you have a power chewer, you might need to try the Extreme Kong. As a #ChewyInfluencer, we received a package of three Classic Large Kongs to test out.
2. Kongs get dirty!
We don’t eat from dirty dog dishes, so why would we want a dirty Kong? Our Kongs get washed after each use, but sometimes we need another one before the dirty ones have been cleaned. In this case, it is helpful to have multiple Kongs. They are dishwasher safe in the upper rack, but we find they last longer if we paw wash them, and use a bottle brush for the inside.
3. Your only Kong is lost in the house!
Because Kongs easily roll and bounce around, it can happen that they get lost under a piece of furniture. Actually, your dog knows exactly where their Kong is, but the humans don’t always pay attention to what the dog is telling them. One should always have a spare or two just in case one goes missing.
4. The one Kong is in the freezer!
Frozen Kongs make for yummy snacks, but what do you do if your Kong is in the freezer, not yet ready to be eaten? “Grab another one of your multiple Kongs,” would be a good answer. Waiting for a Kong to freeze is not much fun, so make sure you have at least one spare!
5. You want different Kong fillers!
Variety is the spice of life, and we love to rotate through our fillers.
My favorite is liverwurst. Honestly, I’m not a big Kong fan, but I will clean out my liverwurst Kong until it shines!
Madison loves the yogurt, peanut butter, and treat crumble Kongs the best.
Bailie has a thing for eggs. Sometimes Mom scrambles her an egg and puts it in the Kong. Fothat special flavor, she adds a couple drops of bacon fat. The taste is so good, Bailie goes upside down to get it all out! She is by far the biggest Kong lover at our house.
Some of our favorite Kong stuffins!
Cran-Raspberry-Banana Stuffed Kongs.
Turn Dog Treat Crumbs Into Tasty Snacks.
Salmon Dinner Stuffed Bones – works in a Kong too!
A Simple, Light Frozen Recipe – works in bones or Kongs!
Don’t wait, check out the selection of Kongs at Chewy.com, and start filling some for your pup!
My dog loves Kongs, but ours were lost when we moved, I’ll have to get some new ones. I have bookmarked your recipes, I’m always looking for new Kong stuffings.
Oh dear, lost Kongs is on my list, but yours are seriously lost. Time to order more.
Those things sure do look like lots of fun!
Cat bro Bert tries to eat our Kongs, but his tongue doesn’t get too far in.
These guys love them, and I have a little one for Roxy. I’m really bad about getting them out though. I’ll have to try the recipes.
Mom has some set times in our routines where they come out a few times a week. We have a baby one that would be just Roxy’s size!
Cool ideas. Thanks Emma
You are welcome.
that makes sense Emma… I have only one kong but I think I need some more… you can’t have enough collars …and not enough kongs ;O)
I feel collars are much more important, but my sisters say Kongs are more important. We seem to have both, thankfully.
Oh Emma, YUMMY!!!! As you know, there are only two of us in our house, but we have multiple sets of various shaped kongs because somebody keeps loosing his and if Mom loads them with different stuffings we HAVE to have each have one with the same stuffing – it’s a guy thing – you wouldn’t understand. Thanks for the recipes. Mom uses peanut butter the most with crumbled treats or frozen bananas, so extra ideas are great! You friend, Chablis
Mom tries to limit the peanut butter and adds just a bit for flavor with crumbs and yogurt to keep down the calories. Enjoy!
Oh, a SIXTH reason – sometimes we have visiting four footed friends and it helps the chill. A SEVENTH – Mom has these smaller humans called grandchildren and great grandchildren and they like to use them to play catch with and chew on ( i’m glad mom sterilizes ours – what proper dog wants toddler goobers in their kong??)
I have never seen humans chewing a Kong, but it must be a funny site!
We have a couple of Kongs but it is very difficult to give them to the boys unless I separate them. A certain hound who shall not be named/shamed publicly does not share well. A treat-filled Kong is asking for trouble on the Bayou. LOL!
I keep to myself with mine. My sisters share and switch chews mid chew all the time. Bailie is content with her own, but Madison is constantly wanting to switch and Bailie doesn’t seem to mind.
We need some more!!
You know where to find them, chewy.com!
We love our Kongs…and can’t wait to try out some of your favorite recipes!

My sisters are huge Kong enthusiasts. Me, it really depends. I’m not big on working for my food.
It started when we had Kobi and Moses and the two of them got into a fight over a Kong (even though they each had their own), that we put Kongs away and didn’t use them again until Luke was a puppy and stayed inside his crate with one. Then I only used them if someone had to get left home alone. Now we’ll be getting the Kongs back out for Luke to have more often. I’ll definitely check out your recipes. I’m not sure how many I have left though, I’m going to have to try to hunt them down. I’ll probably need to get some new ones!
It’s sad only having one dog, but there are also a lot of benefits to having one as well.
great reasons and thanks for the recipes.
You need a lot of Kongs for your whole gang!
We’ve definitely had the lost KONG problem before, too! Thankfully, even when we were a one dog house, we always had two π It looks like all three of you have the whole KONG thing down pat!
My sisters lost one at Gramma’s last fall, but it was found a few weeks later under the treadmill.
